Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company, often known solely as Goodyear, is an international tire-manufacturing corporation. It was founded in 1898 and is currently based out of Akron, Ohio. Goodyear was named after Charles Goodyear, the inventor of the much important vulcanized rubber.
