I’ve been banking with this bank for a few years now and the last visit I had was great the lady was very nice BUT leading up to that day I’ve had multiple terrible encounters,including once they would NOT let me sign a check over into my account ,and the unprofessionalism I saw that day …I would NEVER recommend this bank .remind you I have banked with them for years and honestly the only reason I haven’t switched is because all the autopays I have set up and lack of time.they will treat you however they want,isn’t even an international bank.

This bank in downtown FTW has the most amazing, professional, and kindest, and welcoming staff I have ever encountered in my whole life (no joke). I believe that a lot of other establishments can learn a lot on how customers should be treated. I love these ppl

I've had a mortgage through STAR since 2006. My homeowner's insurance has been paid through escrow. Everything seemed to be going well, except for the fact they don't have an autopay for my monthly mortgage payment, although it's they have something finally that sort of resembles autopay. Until Aug. 28th 2023 when I received a threatening letter from STAR stating my homeowner's policy had expired Aug. 14th and they would be buying insurance for me at a substantially higher rate than I had been paying. I immediately checked my Progressive policy online and it had been paid by STAR through Aug. 14, 2024. I called the number listed on this letter from STAR, and since that initially phone call, which I assumed was to STAR since it was on their letterhead, I have had the most insane conversations and misrepresentation and untruths. So bizarre I felt like I was in a nightmare and couldn't wake up. The first reason they gave for the threatening letter was because they hadn't received a proof of hazard insurance from Progressive. They told me hazard insurance was something different from my regular policy, even though there was only one policy number. I called Progressive and they faxed and emailed copies of it 4 days in a row. STAR told me they weren't allowed to call Progressive because they wouldn't take their calls. My head was spinning. I called Sep. 5th to make sure they were appeased. They received what they asked for but they were still going to have to purchase insurance for me, leaving me paying for two policies, because the name on the policy was "STAR Financial Bank" and it had been changed to STAR Financial Its Successors and/or Assigns, ATIMA" so they couldn't accept the proof of insurance. There were a lot of other bizarre things said and I was told to contact Progressive to have it changed, because again, they aren't allowed to call them. Remember, when you pay through escrow, you're pretty much out of the equation. It's between the mortgage company the your policy holder. I calmed down and waited about 20 minutes and called again because I was so angry. The man from "STAR" said it was all taken care of. Wait. What? Maybe it was me telling them I was going to file a complaint with the BBB and the CFPB. Anyway, all of a sudden I guess they could contact Progressive. Then, he said the part I think he was not supposed to say out loud. The people I had been talking to were not from STAR, even though the letterhead, logo and everything, was STAR. They were a 3rd party contractor but he wouldn't tell me the name of the company. This whole time I was mislead to believe I was actually talking to STAR. If I wasn't so tenacious and alarms weren't going off in my head of how scam-like this seemed, I wouldn't have called this week to make sure it was settled and would probably be paying for two homeowner's insurance policies.I called the number on my mortgage statement and she was concerned this might be some sort of scam and suggested I drive the 20 miles to the nearest branch and speak to the branch manager. I did that yesterday and she called someone to find the name of the company that was pretending to be STAR and yes, they were contracted by STAR. When I got home I researched this company. It has 3 names. On their website, right under their name, it states "Lender Placed Insurance (Force Placed Insurance)" Their wording, not mine. What a sweet deal for them. Come up with bogus reasons to not accept the insurance they've already paid for and force purchase insurance at a substantially higher rate... through this company. That's what they do.I called the main headquarters in Fort Wayne this morning and after one ring a recording came on stating the number is no longer in service as of Sep. 1, 2023 and I would have to call their customer solutions line.

Customer service representatives that assist me yesterday, was so very helpful and far and beyond to help me with my account, i was so scared and worried that someone might try to hack my account, they calmed me down and assuring me that the bank will what they can, also me to keep an eye on my account. I really appreciate them both so much❤ thank you Star Financial .

Great bank, no real issues with them. Only thing I don't care for is the video ATM. I'd rather than bank lobby stay open later, or go back to having an actual drive through. I'd rather deal with a person rather than a screen.

Star has been my bank for over 25 years and I have always enjoyed my experience with their knowledgeable and kind staff. They have been right there for me when any issues with debit/credit cards have been compromised!!!

Constantly getting charged extra fees they keep sending back my car payment and charging me a fee to send it back. I had the money in my account and because they changed me a fee it put me in the negative so they charged me a fee for that and the return fee not once not twice but 3 different times as of now. I do not recommend banking Here. I wouldn't of been negative like that if they wouldn't of Kept sending back my payment then charging me fees. My car loan place says it's because of star and star takes no ownership.

The Star Bank staff downtown are awesome. Any question I’ve had they’ve been able to help me. They are polite and courteous and they do a great job. Thank you so much. Let me also add all of the branches that I’ve been to associated with Star have been very helpful.

STAR Bank is one of the best banks around. Their staff is always friendly and quick to service my needs. I would highly recommend them to anyone looking to switch to a bank where you are treated like family and not just a number!

I have been a Star customer for decades. I recently made a large purchase while on vacation and the experience getting the money from Star in Indiana to the people I made a purchase from in Florida has been nothing but a nightmare. Part of the money for the purchase came from a credit union account we also have and that was done in one day. Star made me do it as a Bill Pay for the money from their bank. They said the person would have the money by the 9th and today is the 10th and they still don’t have the check. Why Star couldn’t just transfer the money to the person’s account with the routing and account number like the credit union did is beyond me in the modern era of technology. I will definitely be making some financial changes when I get home to Indiana.

I needed to make a large withdrawal and was told that I needed to put in a request 2 weeks before making a large withdrawal. The teller then told me she would call other branches to see if any or multiple ones could help me. She called me back sooner than I expected and found two branches that could accommodate me. I think everyone involved went above and beyond the normal to satisfy my needs. I’m very thankful to be banking with Star.

I have been banking with Star Angola Indiana Steuben county for approximately 20 years. I live in Michigan but have kept star financial as my bank because of how well I they have treated me. I know Jamie from the Angola Branch has always been friendly and helpful to me. I would recommend Star Bank to anyone that would ask me about starting an account at a bank.
