Usually, I am super irritated when going to a Gary, IN Family Dollar. The stores usually have boxes everywhere in the aisles, so you can’t shop how you want.😔 But I went in to grab a few things. You just never know what type of service you’re going to get. So I got to the register, and the young man was incredibly nice. He asked how my evening or afternoon was going. I had a rough week, so when he said it, I didn’t hear him. Focus was off, so I asked him to repeat it. I responded, and he said, well you still have the rest of the day. I had purchased an Apple Card for my Mom, because she loves to play games online. So I asked him did I need to have the receipt to activate it. He said no, it’s done. I said well thank you! I asked him his name. He said Darius. I said Darius thank you for your customer service! This was a Gary store, and I’ve seen a lot of rudeness, but he actually changed my perception a little about my city. So if you’re looking for a Family Dollar to shop at, go check out Darius. He has A1 customer service!!

Always a pleasure to do business at my neighborhood Family dollar. The employees are all pretty nice and helpful when needed. I'm always greeted when coming through the door and also make small talk while checking out. I can depend on them to have their doors open til 10 pm as others around are not. Thank you team Family Dollar you all Rock!!

Store is too cluttered, unorganized and parking lot dirty with debris. Parking lot could use some lighting as the neighborhood is questionable. Some staff are pleasant while others appear to be there for a paycheck and lacking in customer service skills. Prices are decent for a neighborhood quick stop store.

The workers Bre and the pregnant girl have really bad attitudes. If you don't want to work stay at home. The manager James is a very hard worker lots of times I can go to him about any problems I have.
