I'm in phase 2 of my training I did my GYCDL in Wisconsin I had two great trainers out there. I had Jason Hall and Big John they were awesome. Went home had to wait a while because penndot never sent out my stuff for my CDL.
Now I'm in Gary Indiana working with a day cab trainer Glen who is a great trainer until the 29th till I start my OTR training only real issue I'm having is my FM wants me to trip plan but until I get with my OTR trainer I don't know where I'm going till I get to the terminal so it's kind of hard to trip plan. As an opinion to make things easier on the trainee to do the trip plan maybe either send like a mock load on the load board or have the load their taking with the trainer sent to their load board on the Roehl app. Just a suggestion to help with the move forward because that's part of whats on the expectation call with the FM when you enter phase 2.

Not everyone in the office follow the value structure they promote. For example safe 7 is not "Safe 7 technicals". It's actually safe 7 behaviors. So I can tell the person writing this doesn't even know the safe 7 and the value structure. They just learn one or two talking points to make themselves seem knowledgeable.
Edit: I updated to 5 star, Because they corrected it.

I wish I could rate this company zero stars. Came here for orientation, sat through for four days. There was a discrepancy so I had to go home to see my doctor to fix it and then return. The orientation instructor, Andrew, assured me I would be paid for orientation since I was coming back the following week and finishing part two for cargo securement. The following week came and I didn’t receive the paycheck. I was told it’s because I wasn’t officially hired. They kept spinning their lies to try to make me look crazy. Andrew definitely shouldn’t be running his mouth spewing lies. If a company will lie to your face from the very beginning about something small, imagine when you’re employed down the road . Lies upon lies with this company. Rick Roehl should be ashamed to have a company of subordinates telling lies to incoming employees. Eventually this company will tank, when all their lies are exposed. I’ve since moved onto a far superior company, and roehl may try to blacken my trucking reports in retaliation but I will be prepared. Do not stand for liars . Do not let them give you false information and false hopes. Run away from this company, hang up the phone when recruiters call , and ignore any emails from this company. They will lie to you no matter what. RUN.

Do not work for Roehl Transport. You are just a number to them. The actual CDL training to get my license was excellent. That's it. I wish I never accepted the job offer. Very, very rude. Lack of communication. They will run you dry. They only want money. If you have a problem, expect to be ignored for days with no resolution at the end. They tell you paid address to address but leave out home mileage is not included in that. When resigning, I told them I would return my truck, no problem. Was told I have to do a load that is roughly 500 miles out of my way. And if I did not do the relay load.. they would put abandonment on my record. I asked how when I would be returning the truck. They said, if no load, no returning. Soooo much more but not wasting anymore time.

Mediocre training is not worth the 7K. Additionally, Roehl struggles to get drivers consistent miles which makes the 120K miles contract even worse.
Very disappointing experience with Roehl and would recommend a company or school with a much shorter contract or one where you will owe less money.
Good luck!

This is a great company to work for! I completed the GYCDL program and am now out on the road training. The training is top shelf. From the range to the road, from the beginning to end. If you are looking for a CDL and not sure which company to choose. This company is highly recommended. My two trainers in the program and on the road have over 60 years experience. You couldn't ask for a better experience. Thank you Rick Roehl for caring for your drivers and giving them the resources to be successful.

Applied for this company and got denied without them specifically telling me why. They just sent me a copy of the records they ran and said any current or future offers were rescinded. Which is unbelievable considering they specifically said they prefer to hire criminals but can't hire a responsible hard working 30 year old autistic male for an unknown reason. 🤔

Trucker beware what they don't tell you is that charge you money to use their equipment. You have to pay for trailer door lock , kinp pin lock and in cad tractor lock $240. You have to take the assigned route if you go off by one curve/turn you won't get pay for the entire load you also have to refuel wherever they tell you. Better of driving a b class truck and you will make more money getting pay by the hour...

I have encountered racism when completing an application, wherein I provided my personal information such as my name, address, and social security number, only to receive inquiries concerning my responses haha.

Prepare to drive they don’t ie planners never send loads in timely fashion that want you to start and don’t know where you going. Innovation they have none , accountability is only for the drivers. Expect the expected you’re not going to make money for the time you work . Trailer shortage reduce the risk don’t work for them or get away ASAP communicate any all delays how to find drivers loads that pays not sitting and not paying detention pay “Ready for a change ask me about driving for Roehl “
