On February 2nd, 2024, I contacted Bicycle Garage Indy (Greenwood) to inquire about their bike demo services for a week-long visit to my parents. Unfortunately, they do not offer this service, which surprised me since I've bike demos elsewhere in the country. Instead, the representative suggested I buy a used road bike from them for $2000 and promised to take it back with a $400 "restocking" fee. This suggestion raised concerns as it could lead to potential issues with returning the bike. When I expressed these concerns, the conversation took a negative turn. On February 6th, 2024, I contacted the Indianapolis location to describe my previous interaction and see if they had demo bikes available. The person I spoke with was very courteous. He suggested I speak with the sales manager, Tobias. I emailed Tobias to share my frustration and mentioned the odd suggestion from the Greenwood location. I also expressed the suggested "solution" was so odd I felt like leaving a negative review. Tobias responded defensively, trying to gaslight me into believing my dissatisfaction was unwarranted and suggesting I should appreciate their offer. Needless to say, his response ensured a negative Yelp review from me. Their attitude was dismissive and negative. Other bike shops in the also did not provide this service, but I left positive reviews on their Yelp pages because they were helpful. No matter what Bicycle Garage Indy might suggest, their "solution" to my request was weird and felt like a scam. (Again, I have gotten demo/rental bikes from many other shops in the country.) I do not recommend Bicycle Garage Indy.

This business did a thorough evaluation of the condition of our two bikes. We were very satisfied with their work and felt the price for service charged was fair and reasonable. We will go back again when we need to replace our bicycles. Thank you!

Think it's safe to declare this my new go-to bicycle shop!Adding a new bicycle to my little vehicle fleet has been way overdue. That was until a stop at BGI South a few months ago. Looking for a new hybrid, a Giant Escape 3 caught my eye. Like any respectable bike shop, test rides are permitted. Although the desired color wasn't readily available in my size, one was ordered to the shop within a week by a kindly salesman, Riley. Soon enough, a new two-wheel that I can't stop riding was mine!In a later visit, I stopped in due to an issue with a quick-release wheel stem. The problem was that the end nut would only tighten so far before the plastic cap would free spin without tightening. When dropping in & notifying a clerk, he was able to run it to the maintenance area right away, did a bit of work, & replaced the nut. Not only that, but he gave me an extra quick-release stem in case the repair didn't work. What service, and at no charge!Remarkable service, and a nice array of bikes and accessories! A must for anyone into bicycling!

I went in to get a chain during the end of COVID. I was told to put a mask on. I turned around and left. Grey Goat ended up with my money. I’ll NEVER give your business my dollars. You don’t need an IG post showing rainbow flags saying all are welcome acting like it’s a club. It’s public.

We have purchased multiple bikes from BGI and have always been very happy with the service. I recently had my full suspension mountain bike serviced by Hans and the team in the bike shop, and my bike truly feels like a brand new machine, It probably rides better than it did when it was new. I called this place to come to my house to help get my Nordictrack treadmill running. The technician came in about 2 weeks and charged $155 to tell me that the drive roller wasn't working. He was correct but what he didn't say was that you could put a screw in the drive roller and fix the problem. He was a very nice gentlemen, but they are not coming to your house to fix anything. They are setting you up to buy a new treadmill. I did go to the BGI store to look into buying a treadmill, but they had very limited models and they all were very expensive. I was told the $155 could be applied to the price of a new treadmill but when I asked about that in the store, they told me it was only for treadmills that were over $1200. Plus they would charge $150 to haul the old treadmill away. So overall I am not happy. I understand they are in business to make money but their repair service isn't about fixing your problem. It is about setting you up to sell you a new treadmill and an expensive one at that. YouTube can tell you how to fix most of these problems and it is much cheaper if you can turn a screwdriver.

I have been going here for years and just recently went for a tune up on my road bike. It badly needed after not being looked at for 4 years. Hans (also known as the bearded man in the repair shop ?) was the kindest and most helpful in making my bike feel like new again. He made much needed adjustments to my bike to help with my riding posture and make it more comfortable to ride. He also made some suggestions on future replacements of worn out parts on my bike to think of for the future. He went above and beyond my expectations and always kept my best interest in check.Excited to get on the indoor trainer and test her out through the winter months. Appreciated it!

His Hubbins and I had been talking about getting a bike rack for the car for months... and it kept not actually happening. So! In the neighborhood, I dropped by the BGI, and got friendly advice/recommendations, and chose a bike rack (one I'd researched online). It works great, and suits our needs perfectly -- Monon Trail, here we come! Facilities: vast, clean, comprehensive, well-organized. SO many choices of bicycles, racks, supplies, accoutrements. Service: friendly and knowledgeable. Attentive. They remembered me when I returned. Unexpected bonus: they also have a whole section devoted to exercise equipment/home gyms! Hmmm... will definitely have to check it out. I'd love an indoor stationary bicycle for when the ugly weather hits.

My husband and I have never bought bikes in our adult lives so we needed a lot of help and guidance. Lisa was so helpful and found us the perfect bikes. We were able to test a few to finally find the ones we wanted. She respected our budget which was so refreshing and even found my husband a used bike that turned out to be exactly what he was looking for. Thank you for the great service!

These guys are awesome!!! As soon as I walked in the door I was pleasantly greeted and she even was so helpful to hold the door to make it easier to get my bike inside. The guys in the service department are very knowledgeable and helpful. Especially the man with the excellent beard. He got me back on the road in no time. Such a great experience I would liken it to getting in a time machine pre COVID or perhaps I went back to the 90's. ??♂️ I wish everyplace seemed to care about a customer like they do here. Just too hard to find nowaday sadly... I will be coming back for all my bicycle repairs and shopping!!
