What a hidden gem! Modern office with great selection of fashionable eyeglasses. Office staff very kind and eager to help. Testing tech gentle and knowledgeable. Dr. Harvey was very friendly and honest. Was told that I really didn't need new glasses at this time since the changes in my vision was very slight. Overall a very nice experience and would recommend South Grove Eye Care to all......KB

I have gone to the same eye Doctor for 35+ years. But I moved to Greenwood almost 2 years ago. I didn't want to make the 50 minute trip to my old doctor. I was having issues with my right eye and called for an appointment. They were very pleasant and got me an appointment for the next day. Dr. Hoffman was great! She thoroughly explained everything and was also very nice. It was an excellent first experience!

I called and asked to order contacts, and was told I couldn’t because it had been more than a year since my last examination. I explained I just needed contacts and would be paying out of pocket. I do not need an examination as my prescription works just fine. I also don’t have vision insurance right now. I can afford to buy a 6 month supply of contacts without insurance, but not 6 months of contacts plus the inflated cost of an examination without insurance. This is not a good business practice. There’s no health risks to having an “expired” contact prescription. Sure, it could maybe be better, but there’s no actual risk to it. If there is any serious risk or possibility or physical harm, then why am I allowed to wear the same prescription I have been for the past year and a half. Shouldn’t I have been notified of that? It just seems pretty unfair to deny service to a decade long customer over, what seems to be, a completely arbitrary policy. It almost seems designed to specifically double dip a customer/insurance company. I’ll concede that I don’t know much about the optometry business. But this part is just common sense, and I’m now massively inconvenienced over this.

Dr Hoffman is patient friendly and ver though. The staff are very friendly. They have all of the advanced equipment.

Just find another optometrist! From the minute I walked in I felt uncomfortable about the experience, from extremely Rude old lady's at the front desk to unprofessional eye doctor that argued that it was my own fault that I didn't like the glasses I ordered because I didn't want to pay for anti glare , even though of course I want anti glare and anti scratch and anything else that would help improve my vision,...duh ! I will go somewhere else ,with the amount of eyeglass places around I will just give them my business and referrals

I was referred to them for follow up care. They called 3 months before my appointment and I told them that contrary to their belief I do not have Medicare and I gave them my insurance information. When I get to the appointment I am told that they don’t take my insurance and I would have to pay the retail rate for the exam. Can you say bait and switch

Was recently a victim of the Covid and was laid off. On my second day off, my glasses frame broke. I took it into South Grove hoping they could fix it as I no longer have insurance. Unfortunately, they could not be fixed. I explained my situation and the person I was talking to who conferred with another tech ( apologize I can't remember their names) and offered to replace my frame with one they had on hand that was the same style at no cost. I was very appreciative of the offer and accepted. They had to do some minor shaving of the lens to get it to fit and when I went to pick them up the next day, Barbara came out and said they would also replace my scratched lens at no charge. Needless to say this was way beyond my expectations and very, very much appreciated. South Grove and their people have a customer for life, thank you all.

Doctor Hoffman saw me and my little brother today. She was so patient with my little brother. She was the best doctor. Everyone in the office was so nice to us. Everyone should go to them for there eyeslove carson

I've been seeing doctors here for over 10 years. They are very professional and thorough. Being diabetic, they always check for damage due to this disease and also send exam notes to the doctor(s) who manage my health. I would definitely recommend them to anyone looking for a great eye doctor.

I first saw Dr. Harvey at a LJC event that I was invited to earlier this year. I remember her speech being so genuine and touching, she really stood out. When I went to see her at South Grove Eye Care, I wasn’t disappointed. She listened to everything I said, never spoke over me and took my concerns serious. Customer service is number one for me and she exceeded expectations. I’ll be back to see her. Also- I love supporting female owned local businesses so that’s a plus. Thanks for a great eye care experience Dr. Harvey.
