Avoid Crestview Apartments – A Nightmare Experience
I initially thought Crestview Apartments would be a good place for my children and me, but it quickly turned into a nightmare. After moving in, I discovered a severe flea infestation—my children and I were covered in flea bites. I immediately contacted the office, and while they sent someone out the next morning, all they did was lightly spray the corners of the walls and leave. Unsurprisingly, the infestation continued. I had no choice but to pay $500 out of pocket for an external pest control company to properly treat the problem.
Once I got rid of the fleas myself, our stay was somewhat manageable, but issues kept piling up. I frequently found grasshoppers inside my apartment, my toilet was constantly having issues, and I needed maintenance nearly every week. Even worse, whenever maintenance came while I wasn’t home, I would check my security camera only to find it had been turned around, as if someone didn’t want to be recorded.
On top of that, I discovered mold under the kitchen sink, which attracted flies and created a terrible odor. My neighbors were extremely nosy, watching me and my children every time we left or returned. One particular neighbor across the hall went out of their way to make my life difficult, despite my efforts to be kind. Overall, the environment was extremely unwelcoming—most of my neighbors were distant and unfriendly, often running away when they saw us, making faces, and even trying to start problems with us in the parking lot. It was uncomfortable to live in a place where we felt so unwelcome.
The apartments themselves are outdated and not worth the price. Rent increases every year, but there are no real upgrades or improvements to justify it.
But the worst part? Amy in the office. At first, things were fine, but over time, she became an absolute nightmare to deal with. She refused to correct an error on my lease that left my children’s names off, preventing me from enrolling them in the school across the street. After I moved out, I had to return to the area for a meeting, and Amy called the police on me, falsely claiming I was trying to break into my old apartment. She aggressively confronted me in front of the person I was meeting, attempting to publicly embarrass me with her rude and unprofessional behavior.
If you’re considering moving here, do yourself a favor and look elsewhere—this place is not worth the stress.

I love being in a neighborhood so this place is a good fit for that. The apartments are older but in reasonable shape considering the price, which is a good value. Really like the base board hot water heat. Very comfortable and hot water for showers is always available. My building is very quiet. All neighbors seem to respect that. The window unit AC is a bit of a pain but manageable. The staff is very responsive. A+ for that. Communicate well and maintenance is always on top of any problems. Love using the app for work orders and such. The train tracks in the back are the only real noise problem. Close to bike paths that I like to ride. Less than 10 minutes from major expressways. Close to grocery. I have no real complaints

In these times when customer service is often bleak, Crestview shines like a light -- letting people know that they matter. I've been here a few months now and Crestview has done their best to make sure I am satisfied (a daunting task). They are expeditious with maintenance matters with highly skilled engineers (John, Matt, Erika) who get the jobs done. Amy and Suzanne in the office are the busiest bees I've ever seen, but they still manage to make the time for your needs. Communication/texting is excellent to update the entire tenant community about upcoming grounds work, relevant info, etc. People here are mostly quiet and purposeful -- working people and some students -- tenants are friendly and considerate of each other's space. The apartments are cozy, nicely designed and arranged, and well-cared for. When I come home, I'm confident that ALL is well, so I can rest. I do highly recommend :)

I lived at Crestview for several years and really enjoyed my time living there. There's so many great things to list. First off they had me sold when I went on the tour. Paula was so knowledgeable about the place, was patient with me, and answered all my questions. Secondly the place is SO clean! The maintenance team vacuums the carpet in the halls every week and leave the hallways smelling so nice afterward. The parking lot gets tarred I believe once a year so I don't have to worry about pot holes. I also love how they planted fresh colorful flowers every time Spring came. The third thing I loved about the place was the management team. Suzanne and Amy always answered my calls or emails whenever I had questions about anything, plus they do such a great job communicating with the tenants. Whenever we faced harsh winters or any type of emergency everyone was notified via app, text, and they even taped flyers to our doors and near the mailboxes to make sure everyone saw and knew to prepare for what was coming. They took good care of me and their office was so clean, well decorated, and smelled like maple (yum). The fourth thing I loved about the place was the location. Crestview is located near a school, a community of outdoor sports (folks in the neighborhood take their tennis very seriously), a bike trail, grocery stores, other useful businesses, and is within walking distance of a nice ice cream shop. And lastly the fifth thing I loved about living here was everything worked when I needed it to. I lived in comfort and rarely had to contact the maintenance crew. The few times that I did they would resolve the issue same day or within a week if they needed to wait for a part to arrive. I'm also grateful I had nice neighbors too. From what I saw the tenants are quiet here and keep to themselves, just like me. I recently moved out of Crestview to start a new life elsewhere, but I definitely wanted to take the time to type a review on how great this place is. I'm amazed they do not get enough recognition. Employees who clearly know what they're doing, a clean establishment, convenient location, quiet yet friendly neighbors, and a great place to call home. Anyways, I think I covered just about everything. If you're reading this Suzanne and Amy, thank you again for a great 3 years I will definitely recommend this place to others in need of a comfortable home. :)

This place is terrible and ran by a bunch of bitter liars. I gave my dogs photo ID saying he was a therapy dog. Gave shot records and he was approved to stay in the apartments my brother lived in. Once they decided they didn’t like my brother Management LIED and said they never approved the dog and evicted my brother. Based off a complete lie! Mind you he was never late on rent and payed early Then blamed him for their bad reviews that he never once did! I would avoid this place based off of how rude and disrespectful management is alone. The apartment is small with no central air and a bunch of high school acting people. Karma is all I hope for these people. I’d be ashamed of myself to be so sad and bitter.

I wish I could give this place zero stars, I wouldn't recommend this place if you're looking for somewhere to stay long-term, the management Suzanne is very rude and not nice maybe under better leadership/ management it'll work but right now keep you're money and pick somewhere up to the task of treating people like humans and not like money bags.

Let me take it from the top, I used to live here up until someone shot a dog point blank without the office so much as evicting the shooter. I can't imagine the reaction if he had been a man of color. There was nothing sent out in regards to this, I felt very unsafe in a place that stood by while nothing was done. The office lady's are less than unsatisfactory not to mention hard on the eyes. Please do not move into this apartment complex unless it is your last last last result. There is no central heat or air here and the walls are thin letting all your heat/air go. Everything is super out of date but still charged for something with top of the line things in each unit.

I did not personally live in these apartments but my brother does. I planned to move into my own apartment here but quickly changed my mind. Outside the fact that there is zero ventilation in this apartment, the apartments themselves are just okay. From the moment my brother moved in these apartments have been harassing him. A leak in the apartment under him caused maintenance men to be in his place all day. While this is happening he gets a text from the office about the inside of his apartment such as condensation on the ceiling and how he needs to clean it(because they have no vents in his apartment) asking if I'm living with him because a bed was in his living room (this was actually a couch turned into a bed). I live with my mom who lives 2 blocks away so I go to hang with my brother almost everyday. The apartments began harassing him saying I was living there and couldn't be there. I was not living there and now feel like I can't even go to visit my brother.Police were unnecessarily called for a fake noise complaint. Police shined a flashlight into the window while my 13 year old niece was changing. When we talked to the police they said they had the wrong place. The landlord said she would not hold that against my brother. On top of that the office seems to just somehow know when my brother has someone at his place. Clearly someone is stalking his apartment but why? We have her on recording admitting they have someone watching his place. There's a lot of things that are not okay!I'll tell you what is okay though, for a man to shoot a dog several times in the parking lot that is right next to a school. You can probably guess the skin difference in that man and my brother. I personally spoke to the landlord about a situation that occurred with my dog and having to remove my dog And them trying to kick my brother out because of it. She was so disrespectful and rude. She spoke at me as if I was her child! I walked out of that office in tears after explaining to this lady that I was only there a few days out the week because of a SA and my brother was just trying to help me out. Even after removing my dog and myself she is now trying to say the police call is a violation although she originally stated it would not. She then said he was having me living there illegally when I don't! She sat in my face and told me that my brother was gaslighting and manipulative but he's only spoken to her twice. She's trying to illegally evict him because she does not like him. At least I know I can go kill a dog on their property if need be. I have never seen such unprofessionalism in my life!

My first experience at the leasing office was amazing ?. Amy is the one to talk to, however, they are actually trained in hospitality and customer service, so you're not treated like you're just "the person with the money". The apartments are well-kept and it's a small, quiet community. This is a great place in this region to rent apartments. So many in this area have terrible reviews, mainly because of lack of access to maintenance personnel and appropriate customer service from the leasing office. Crestview is not one of those places. If you need a supportive leasing office, great customer service, as well as, a great apartment community, I would definitely check out Crestview!

We lived here for a few years and the maintenance and office staff are great. There were always there to help when I needed anything. We also had a few misbehaving neighbors and they made sure to take care of those issues for us. They keep bad people out. This was a peaceful place to live thanks to the help of the management.Id highly recommend it for a decent price, pet friendly, and in a nice neighborhood.

Look no further if you are searching for an apartment home! Crestview is not only in a great location, walking distance from the shops of downtown Griffith, and an hour away from Chicago, but it is affordable and wonderful to live in. The apartments are nice and you definitely get the value you pay for when living here. Staff is very friendly, responsive, and does a great job of maintaining the whole place. The other residents are all pleasant as well.

I don’t understand how you only except section 8 at your apartments in Gary wow I really feel this speaks volumes to how ppl put you in a box it’s basically like telling ppl they’re not good enough to live in Griffith if you are on section 8
