What is going on with this store??? Quality sure has went down hill while prices are still rising. We refuse to buy fruits or vegetables from here anymore because they go bad so quickly.Please go back to what you once were!!

Let me start by saying I bought a rotisserie chicken aside from it being over priced. It tasted bland and something is off. You are out here playing with people’s money for profit. Go look at their deli and hot food case it looks dry and old and very unappealing. I am one unhappy customer. Food prices are so expensive and a majority of people who work here probably don’t even care, you can see it on their faces.

This store is so over priced for their stale hard bakery bread, cookies and outdated groceries lately. When can we get a quality store for the people of Hammond? I used to love Stracks I even worked for the company. But everytime I shop here now I end up going home with outdated goods. I have to take time out of my day again to go replace it, IF theres a replacement because chances are eveything on the shelf is expired as well. Or opening up the fresh baked bakery cookies for my child when I get home to find the cookies are harder than rocks and inedible for her or even myself. The customer service is terrible. The Deli wait times are ridiculous. The bag boys get touchy. I've been harassed and touched by other customers while waiting for the Deli even. Get it together Stracks.

this place is right down the street from my office, so every monday I'm getting my lunch groceries. Good quality, affordable, and clean store. I just wish you all had smaller carts, or the baskets.

Ive been encountering a lot of expired food lately. I drank a protein shake back in July looked at the date and it expired June 2023. Purchased graham crackers that had a best by date of Jan 2024. I just moved here over the summer! So that’s wasn’t good. Then what drove me to make this review was purchasing some frozen burgers brought it home unpacked and that’s when i saw it was best by July 2024 and it’s October. I went to switch it out and all 8 boxes had the same dates. I had to go with a completely different brand which was dated for 2025.
I like this store since it’s close to my house, i receive great customer service too! But i can’t give 4 stars making so many trips to get exchanges. I will be paying more attention now but someone needs to do their job better.

Please tell me that Van Til's does not condone the service and the "attitude" that Stephanie in customer service give out to customers. I was with my mother while my mother was paying for the catering provided by Van Tils for my father's funeral luncheon. The Deli personnel were phenomenal with taking the time and patience with my mother. That all changed when we were at the customer service counter. First of all, no one was ahead of us or anyone waiting behind us in line. Stephanie acted as if it were a bother to wait on us. My mother asked if there would be a problem with writing out two separate checks, since the orders were for two separate dates. Stephanie never replied. My mother paid for the first order with a check. After my mother wrote the second check for payment, Stephanie told us that the computer would not accept the second check. Reason told...that the first check was such a large amount. We did previously ask Stephanie, but getting no reply, we thought it would be okay.This upset my mother, she started crying, while Stephanie stood there with check for payment in her hand. No apologies, no offer on what to do, just standing there. We finally paid and left.Before we left the gentleman from the Deli that was helping us apologized for the way Stephanie acted.I have told several other Van Til"s customers of our interaction with Stephanie and I have gotten nothing but negative comments about Stephanie.My mother and I have both worked in customer service. We would have been fired for treating customers in such a manner.
