Rachet mechanisms for the tire straps on the car hauler we rented needed some love, but we loved the staff member we dealt with here, though that didn't seem to be too consistent and I think we got lucky.Super straightforward and since we came in knowing exactly what we wanted, it was super quick, and a huge plus is they didn't get down on their knees and start begging when we declined the insurance or other optional services.

The online process of reserving the truck was easy, pre paid for equipment etc online during the transaction. Upon going to retrieve the U-Haul, everything done online was obsolete. The customer associate was rude, seemingly incompetent at her job, offered no help WHATSOEVER. Once I paid a second time for my supplies and finally got the truck key- she pointed outside towards the parking lot and said that’s where your truck is. Having no idea which one is actually my reserved truck I had to look at the 7digits and letters on the key. Then proceeded to walk around aimlessly checking each and every truck to find some numbers that match my keys. After walking through two parking lots and about 40 trucks I had finally found mine. But that’s not all. The equipment I bought was oh idk. all the way across the store in there garage. Which, fine, whatever. I get in the truck and it’s sticky and dirty inside. Start the truck and NO gas in it. I had to immediately go the gas station before I could start any moving. Which as stressful as moving is in the first place, adding gas to a ridiculous gas guzzler wasn’t ideal- especially after I just paid for everything else. When I told customer service about the gasoline situation- inquiring if they would put some gas in before I left or give me another one equipped with gas and ready to go… they argued with me! Eventually leading to me hanging up and just dealing with it myself- but being told I had to bring it back on a quarter tank. Even though that’s not what was provided to me. (ALSO they did not give me any paperwork during the entire transaction). The truck itself, besides being dirty, felt like a death trap on wheels. I genuinely was fearful that it was going to breakdown at any moment while I was driving it. It was not in good condition. Now this was just the truck I got, not speaking for all there vehicles. Truck drop off was easy and all done online. Overall, due to the unhelpful customer service and lack of equipped accommodations upon arrival, I was extremely dissatisfied and left feeling even more stressed out on top of the moving process itself.

Natalie Williams was awesome, she is very respectful, polite and sympathetic. She has so much compassion in her soul there’s no comparison. Her team….. competition is none!!!!, I haven’t seen so many young ladies and gents with loyalty and respect to the management above. I have been to plenty of Uhaul‘s this is by far the best management and customer service I have ever seen and had from uhaul. I was definitely on the fence with giving uhaul my business because of future experiences. Torrence location management has discussed me and the 95th street location I don’t wanna begin. Natalie needs and should,!!!!! have a brand New Store I will always return to Uhaul Hammond.

First, a customer and I was left in the store over 30 minutes without help when I was dropping off the van. Then checking out they over charged me close to $30. So for the next time you rent from them beware, I won’t be using them anymore.

The manager Natalie always has a beautiful disposition! The staff is so nice all the time I used this location or 50 times . Every time I go here she makes my day a lot better after speaking with her.I never had a problem with no staff here will tell people to go here all the time the best uhaul I have been to

By far the worst U-Haul I’ve ever had the displeasure of using. Even setting up a reservation here means nothing, they will off you to another U-Haul that also doesn’t have the equipment you need. Have rented many trucks and trailers, my last experience with them was so bad I had to get the regional traffic control managers of both the South Chicago area and the NWI area involved. The NWI traffic control manager actually did the job the Chicago one didn’t want to do and directed me where to go where my equipment was waiting for me. Hammond has the worst employees/managers… strongly recommend going down 41 to the Schererville location, they actually have equipment when you reserve it.

I had a 9am appointment to get a hitch installed. I gave the tech my key at 9:05am. At 9:40 the tech was standing around playing on his cellphone. I asked for my key and left. There were no other services scheduled until noon, so why weren't they prepared for mine? I'm aware things don't always go according to plan, but I saw no reason my service wasn't being completed.

Horrible service , I called and asked for some information about trailer door way dimensions and the guy I was talking to asked me to go on the website and find out! I didn’t have access to the web at the time so I couldn’t do that ! But they give you papers with their phone numbers to call if I ever need any thing and yeah when I needed them they weren’t willing to help so I ended the call. I called another location who told me the information I needed about the trailer dimensions so now I realize that the trailer I rented which was a6 x 12 with the ramps as a smaller doorway entry. The correct trailer I needed is a 6 x 12 utility trailer with no ramps.So I called this store back and this time a woman answered the phone and I asked her if she had a 6 x 12 utility trailer with no Ramps she then had me on hold for 10 minutes she had no idea I was already on my way back to the store and I get there to this place that the male worker I spoke to before her said the store was filled with customers but when I arrived nobody was in site besides the 2 workers and not even the lady her self was in the office I spoke with the man and told him I been on hold for a while Now about swapping out my trailer and nobody has answered me and for what reason I don’t know why cause the store was empty !! These 2 workers are rude and did not even help me get the replacement trailer hooked up he just told me to park the trailer where you got it from and that was it so I was left out there alone to do there job!! I had to move a transporter trailer out of the way of the utility trailer because of course the trailer I needed was blocked.. so yeah never again will I do business here.. what ever happened to great customer service…

Female at desk had horrible customer service, didnt greet us or offer any help. Was told they had no availability but didn't offer any alternative locations. Very rude and definitely not professional. Definitely DONT recommend you waste your time at this location.

I've used uhaul for all my moves and I've moved allot. This location is hands down the best! I pulled up to drop my 20ft truck off plenty of room, it was clearly marked on where to drop it off and your worker Brandon was right there and very helpful. I was in and out, the easiest I've ever felt with. Well done yall for real.
