My mom lived here ,they are beautiful apts, spacious, and when she moved in over a year ago, she isnt there now, management seemed so very nice, but soon came to find out she had her picks in the building and even had people come tell her if she thought they were doing something wrong. They want you to pay for everything, if you put a picture up on your walls, you better fix it before you move out because you will get charged for every hole, my mom was a nervous wreck living here. Cant talk in the hallways, which are creepy in themselves, even heard one woman talk of ghost in her one apt, wouldn't surprise me, being an old hospital. Like I said nice apts, to many rules, treat you like children. Then when you do leave, the management, not sure if it's still the same one, lied on my mom, was a bully, and very mean, whomever owns this place needs a new nicer manger.

If you are looking for an institutional setting for your next apt., look no further. This is the closest thing to a Mausoleum/Nursing Home/Halfway House. Negativity abounds here, Bullying is commonplace. Hallways are long and Dreary, the echos are unreal. Manager informed all residents that they must not talk in the hallways, cause of the echo. Why not carpet them? They are also unclean, with Roaches kind of all over. Fire Doors that are broken for months. Most people have to walk quite a few blocks just to take their trash out and to get their mail. Bringing groceries in is a nightmare, the walk is so long. There is one lady who is a complete "take-charge" person. She is called "Ham Hocks" by many residents. She walks around with a notebook, writes people up for whatever reason and has a daily morning session with the manager to try to get everyone into trouble, except her "click", of course. I rented this site unseen from another state. Immediately, this above-mentioned lady yelled at me for going into the community room. Then and there, I applied somewhere else and am finally there. The apts. are nice, if you like darkness, gloom and again, a Tomb-like atmosphere. No windows. Most apts. have ONLY 1 window, the rest is artificial lighting. Drinking water is horrible, cause this used to be an old hospital and they never updated their pipes and plumbing systems. There are alot of drunks there and other vices, I would rather not mention. They also have a Bedbug problem (which is the main reason I looked for somewhere else). They were originally in the community room, but the extermination people just heat treated 4 apts. Many residents here are elderly and if they don't have a caregiver, their apts. are filthy. Some have 3 dogs in a one bedroom apt. Only part-time maintenance, 4 hours a day, Mon-Fri., so alot is neglected. If you want to tolerate these conditions, then this is the place for you. They advertise this place as a 55+ independent community, but I have found this place on the carecenters.com and it is listed as an "Assisted Living" community. This place is definately the "Springboard to the Grave".
