“Can definitely tell this store is under new management! As we all know taking over a disaster isn't easy, but the new store manager, Tynia, and her team are doing their best and really making strides! First time I've been here in a while where carts aren't blocking the isles and stuff is on the shelves. They are working as a team and the cashier who took care of me, Vontrice, was so personable and polite. Ms. Linda is a staple and glad she's still part of the team. Keep up the great work! You guys are definitely making a difference!!”

“This is my favorite dollar store! ? I buy all my toiletries, snacks and food here. They have pretty much everything now even meat produce, vegetables and fruit.
Not to mention the staff is amazing! I have built very strong connections with each and every one of them. They are very friendly and helpful. :-)”

“Dollar tree in Schererville IN is well stocked. The building is old but clean and mostly organized. Prices are lower than other stores and the quality isn't bad. Staff is friendly.”
“This store deserves some recognition. Every other dollar store I go to the store is always filthy and disorganized. I come to this location all the time and they always have everything clean and stocked well and every single employee here is friendly, which also you don’t see at many dollar stores. “Dollar Tree was a better experience this time. The line was getting long and there were seniors in the line. A second line was opened to move the seniors. That was the most thoughtful thing I've ever seen a Dollar Tree employee do. This is normally a semi-busy location.”

“Happened to shop here for the vitamins here aren't too expensive. The fruit and accessories are to good to come by. I likely shopped to the extent of essential items such as q tips and shampoo and razors. The use of purchasing a iTunes card at the reasonable credit also helps. Nevertheless a great store to come through and shop.”

“One of my local go-to places in the area. Lines often get a lil long for the amount of staff working, but the manager is pretty good at handling that. I also like how the manager seems mean to most people, but she's just really no-nonsense, with staff AND customers. The way she came over the intercom and let customers know not to let their kids play in the store... ?????? Bravo ?”
“Today there was an experience where a lady with kids ended up breaking a whole aisle full of glasses and the two ladies working were so good about how they handled it. The store was as clean as it could be it's an older store and the staff that was on duty today was beautiful.”

“Usually, I am super irritated when going to a Gary, IN Family Dollar. The stores usually have boxes everywhere in the aisles, so you can’t shop how you want.? But I went in to grab a few things. You just never know what type of service you’re going to get. So I got to the register, and the young man was incredibly nice. He asked how my evening or afternoon was going. I had a rough week, so when he said it, I didn’t hear him. Focus was off, so I asked him to repeat it. I responded, and he said, well you still have the rest of the day. I had purchased an Apple Card for my Mom, because she loves to play games online. So I asked him did I need to have the receipt to activate it. He said no, it’s done. I said well thank you! I asked him his name. He said Darius. I said Darius thank you for your customer service! This was a Gary store, and I’ve seen a lot of rudeness, but he actually changed my perception a little about my city. So if you’re looking for a Family Dollar to shop at, go check out Darius. He has A1 customer service!!”

“I went in the Family Dollar/Dollar General across from the old Edison School. I usually only come here for emergencies. This particular day, there was a young lady at the register, and she was so nice and customer friendly. I watched her with the customers. She was the same with everyone. It was the type of energy that spreads. Her vibe was happy!! When I got to the register, I told her not to change her energy, because it's rare you find happy people these days, especially in customer service. Normally when you go in the store, there is so much unprofessionalism. Boxes all in the aisles. No one says that you cannot have fun at work, but it is a business. Just be aware of your surroundings regarding your customers. We all know it is "the hood" store, but sadly that's an excuse. We want stores that we feel comfortable and proud to shop in without having to drive a country mile to get that. Corporate also needs to fix their stocking issue, because it's clearly an issue at all of their stores. Go ahead and spend the money and hire a midnight crew for stocking so your customers don't have to maneuver around boxes in the day time, which is a safety issue and trip hazard. You should also hire a crew to unload the trucks on delivery day. The day the truck comes doesn't change. This will help to change the cleanliness of the store during the day and require less re-stocking so your employees can be available to your customers improving customer service. Just an opinion.”
“Overall I like this dollar tree. Lots of stuff usually always in stock. Pretty clean and organized. Only thing is sometimes you are waiting to check out for awhile.”
“The cashiers are very friendly and it's always neat and clean. I love the specials on Saturdays where you buy $25, and they take off $5 with coupon. You have to download the app. to get that special along with other coupons.I once spent $18 from a purchase of $30 that subtracted the coupons that made me a great savings. Wow!”
“So I normally go to family dollar but took a chance on dollar general and so glad I did. They have so much nice home decor items for cheap which I love. There store was nice and clean as well. This made it easy to find things I definitely will be shopping here from now on.”
“I don't know if I dealt with one of the store's manager today just now, or not, but I have to say that this was the most pleasant experience I've had at a Dollar tree in a long time. They had everything I was looking for, as well as obviously being cheaper than the surrounding competition.. They also made it a point to make me comfortable enough to ask questions in regards to location and price for each and every item I needed. They didn't bother me, but they also didn't push me away when I really needed to know certain things.
Yeah.....it's a dollar store. I might not get the greatest quality in regards to the items I purchase. However, it also isn't garbage I'm purchasing, either. They (those working at the Dyer location, that is) make darn sure that each and every customer has been attended to. And I am NOT just saying that. I know service jobs are really stressful, and it is VERY damn hard to keep your composure at times. But they make it look damn easy, especially when you really do get some knucklehead customers that are never satisfied with anything. It's hard, and you can't please everybody...a d yet they attempt to, regardless.
EVERY SINGLE PERSON THERE DESERVES A RAISE IN PAY. I'M NOT SAYING THIS JUST TO MAKE THE PEOPLE THAT WAITED ON ME FEEL BETTER. I'M SAYING THIS BECAUSE I FELT COMFORTABLE IN THAT STORE AND NOT EMBARRASSED.
Bottom line is.....the Dyer store is doing a damn good job in making me feel comfortable where I happened to shop for groceries and personal items.
I MOST DEFINITELY plan on coming back in the near future.....which is more than likely going to be tomorrow afternoon. The manager they have now, as well as the employees, must really enjoy whomever they work for. They do a damn good job in regards to HOW things are done.
And I know by now I must sound like a broken record, but they also do a damn good job as to WHY certain things get done as well. The service/retail industry is a rough one, to say the least. But whomever runs this specific local knows what they are doing at least. I hope it remains this way, to be honest.
I plan on seeing everyone again today, simply because my mom most definitely forgot what else she needed at the store, hahahaha!

“When I walked in the Dollar General, I was greeted with a sincere hello, and welome to Dollar General, not the robotic hello. I had to come on here to do a review. I overheard the phone ring, and a customer was asking if they had an item. She HAPPILY placed the customer on hold, and went to check to see if they had the item. Came back and informed the customer. I was looking for a particular item. She showed me where it should have been, but they were all out of stock. She was genuine and sincere while I was checking out. This is definitely rare these days. I told her to stay the way she is, and that it was appreciated.”
“Family Dollar is a good store to shop and this location sells alcohol, basic groceries and party items. Family Dollar sell household items. I do find there are special sales on store items.”
“This is the cleanest family dollar even before they updated it. A good manager goes a long way. The manager keeps this store clutter free and the shelves stay stocked. She's always in the store making sure it looks good!!”
“Each dollar tree is different as far as geologically. Once u get out of the more ethnic areas the variety of things you can find is amazing! Sad to say but the hood Dollar tree is a 5 go to the white neighborhood and u definitely have an upgraded experience. Sorry to say but it's the truth. “Actually, this is one of my favorite dollar trees to go to the Customer Service or I should say the cashiers are very nice. They always reach you with a smile no matter how many people in the store. They keep calm and they treat you nice. The only thing that threw me off this time is this location was they really didn’t have a lot of things to pick from it like they didn’t do stock And I’m not sure why it was like that, but I typically get other things that I could use and stay at to substitute the things that I need it. I wanna thank them for always being nice. Customer Service goes along our way especially at a busy store. I’ll give them two thumbs up.”
