From getting the quote all the way to the empty container pickup, 1-800-PACK-RAT was amazing!! They were all so friendly and helpful, I felt like they wanted to give me the best deal they could. Then Drew and Danielle on the Indianapolis team did great at placing my container in a difficult spot perfectly! I will continue to use them whenever I need.

My (already loaded) container drop-off was scheduled for Saturday — I was trying to schedule it for Friday, but it took so long to get through to schedule it that the earliest they could do it was on Saturday. Fine. The driver arrived on Saturday, late in the afternoon, with *an empty container*. So that meant two more days without furniture in my new apartment, including my bed. They rescheduled me for a PM delivery on Monday. It got to around 5:30 pm and I hadn’t heard anything yet so I called them to make sure it was still coming tonight, they said yes and told me the driver's schedule. That driver calls me at 7 and says he’ll be there in an hour or so. Calls me again 30 mins later to make sure he had the right address. Every other drop off I’ve done with them (including for their screw up on Saturday) they would call me when they arrived, but I never got a call, and was just waiting and waiting and waiting. Tried to call the driver twice at 9:30, no answer, no voicemail set up so can’t leave a message. I walk outside saying “there’s no chance they’d just drop it off and not say anything right?” But that’s exactly what they did. But they left on a tightly strapped resistance band securing the doors, so I can’t even get into the unit, I can’t get it off myself — and they left the unit in a handicap spot. When I realized this, I tried to call the driver several times; no answer. Talked to the manager the next morning, who blamed it on his driver approaching his 14-hour maximum (as if over-scheduling drivers is my fault!)Have been trying to get through to customer service to outline this and get appropriate compensation, and it is taking entirely too long.TLDR, you're better off using another company to avoid this nightmare.

forget the summer promotions! they loop you in with a 50% off the 1st month rental but the drop off & pick up fees (disclosed) zero out your savings and worst, you can't get the unit(s) removed from your driveway when you're done with it. terrible communication w/existing customers. they leave you hanging even when they schedule the pickup date/time.three days delayed still waiting for their promised pickup.if you don't have enough drivers to service your customers, don't run specials.i should charge pack rat to store their unit on my driveway and get free advertising.skip this company. not worth the headaches of dealing w/them.

Scheduled over a month out. Called a couple of days before to confirm reservation. Called day of and was told they couldn't make it.

0 stars. Avoid this place at all costs. We had a confirmation for 2 units to be delivered sometime Saturday. 3 pm still no containers. called into the service line and waited on hold for an hour. Gave up and called back but I chose new customer and they answered immediately. Finally got someone who could tell us where the container were and they said they are on the schedule to be delivered Monday. We never got a call or email stating this! Very poor communication. They can take the reservation but can't honor it!

Don't call them! Their prices are on the high end, they won't deliver or pick up on time, they don't communicate with you when they fail to deliver/pickup (no call, no email), and the compensation they offer per day of failed service is paltry compared to the cost ($50/day compared to a $4K total cost). Expect multiple day delays on each drop-off, pick up, travel across country, drop off at new location, and final pickup. They promise certain days when you place the order, but they do not honor them.General podm moving stuff. 1. Be aware all these businesses operate like used car salespeople. They will sweet talk you, offer random discounts, and trash talk the competition. Very uncomfortable. 2. Think about how you will live for weeks without all the stuff you have packed in the container, and with no certainty on drop off and pick up times. 3. Buy packing material to secure your stuff in the container. I recommend stretch wrap. The only good parts were the drop off driver was great and very helpful, and the container itself was sturdy and secure.

Our overall experience was pretty good. Definitely like that the container stays flat the entire time it's being loaded and unloaded from the truck so there's less chance things will shift. Our delivery driver on the Indianapolis side, Danielle, was great. She dropped the container exactly where we wanted it like a pro! There were a few issues with the delivery truck on the CA side of the move (flat tire and then it got stuck in the mud apparently). That made it a bit stressful but not sure there's much you can do about random mishaps. Thankfully we had built in some buffer because they had to deliver a day later than scheduled. I think the buffer time is key for a long distance move with a container. Build in a couple days before you plan to unload just in case things turn into an Ice Road Truckers episode!
