One of the best veterinarians I've ever been to. I've been coming here 10 years, the staff is knowledgeable and compassionate, but will also give you information straight. Never have they tried to sell me unnecessary procedures, just what is actually necessary for our animal's well-being. The staff's customer service is top-notch!

I've been a client since 1995 and still take my personal and rescue dogs to see Dr. Schnepf and Dr. Samland. They are by far, the most affordable vet care option that I've found. No frills equals reasonable vet care costs. Dr. Schnepf provides the most detailed exams of any vet clinic I've experienced. He has caught several issues that others missed.

1000% recommend East Side Animal Hospital.I rescued a puppy and they person I got her from runs a Kennel for GS. I asked her where to take her and she told me about East Side Animal Hospital. I took her to the Vet for the first time in May 2023. The staff was Amazing. They were very caring and helpful. I have had 9 dogs in my life and have never had a puppy. So I was FULL of questions. They all took the time to answer my questions.Fast forward to Aug 2023 my parents older dog was getting really sick. My parents knew how happy I was with the staff and the price so they asked for the info. We were able to get her in right away. The staff was amazing and really tried to do everything for her. At the end of Sept. 2023 unfortunately she stopped eating and stopped getting up. So we had to put her down. They staff was honestly so amazing. They got us into a room within 2 minutes of walking in the door so we were not in the waiting room with her. They gave us a blanket to lay her on so she was not on just the table. In the first week of Oct. 2023 we got a card in the mail that was signed by all of the staff as well as paw prints and a cute little jar with some of her hair in it. It was a great to see all the love and care.Today my dad is taking our other dog in for a vet visit.Tomorrow I am taking my "puppy" to get fixed. I am sure the staff is going to be great!!!East Side Animal Hospital is our Vet for Life!!

This is the best vet I have ever been to I just recently moved to Indianapolis from West Virginia and had a liter of puppies one of the puppies ended up needing surgery and was on the line of life or death, needless to say I was an emotional wreck.. we couldn’t find ANYWHERE to take our puppy for surgery, and if she didn’t have the surgery THAT DAY we would have lost her.. east side saved her life I ended up keeping her and have a beautiful, energetic, happy, and healthy baby girl. This is one place that TRULY cares about the animals they care for and I could never thank them enough the vets and vet techs are amazing and kind and they truly go the extra mile! I will use this vet as long as live in this state.

CLICK "MORE" TO SEE REPLY TO THEIR REPLY"Oh you just have to hold him, he'll be still for you."Says the vet while he squirms frantically, nonstop, while they try to hold him. Eventually they try to put a muzzle on him, he snaps at them, and that is the end of the session. No acknowledgment that "oh you just have to hold him" was both false and incredibly condescending. Also: When I mention the possibility of anxiety meds for him, the vet looks at him for two seconds and says "No he's a happy dog, you just have to spend some time training him."I'm sure with a two second glance they can tell exactly what his life is like 24 hours a day. I'm sure his textbook signs of anxiety which I tried to report to them but which they did not take a moment to listen to, are fully dismissable based on their two second judgment that "he's a happy dog."A week later I go to a different vet (Indy PAWS), and have a much more positive experience--because they actually make a point of listening first before making a judgment.EDIT IN RESPONSE TO THEIR RESPONSE:In their response below, they mention saying "he's not a bad dog, he's a happy dog." I don't recall them saying "he's not a bad dog," and it would be strange if they did, as the idea that he would be a "bad dog" is not something I have ever thought, said or implied, making it a puzzle why they would bring it up. It has been a week since the conversation so let us assume the vet in question is simply misremembering rather than attempting to insinuate something about my attitude towards the dog.(For the record my feelings about him are: Marley is an incredibly sweet puppy, eager to please, and largely well trained, albeit rambunctious and exciteable. He is in an unfortunate situation which is unfair to him--not enough room to play, not enough company -- but at least not abandoned in a field as he would have been by his previous owners.)They speak of my feeling "judged." I don't feel judged--I don't believe they learned enough about me or Marley to be able to judge either of us! I used the word "judgment" in my review to refer to their decision about Marley's disposition and needs. They judged that he is a happy dog who just needs to be held in order to be calmed down. The latter was proven wrong as they uttered the words. (They could have just asked me.) The former was woefully incomplete (one can be happy and suffer from anxiety as well) and failed entirely to invite, much less listen, to my input. I got as far as an opening remark that he pants a lot, to which they replied that panting need not be a sign of anxiety and that was it. No more was asked of me concerning his other textbook signs of anxiety. They also advised that hundreds or thousands of dollars worth of training would help.* As they say: no sh** sherlock! I suppose they get a lot of people who need to learn that there is a thing called dog training but they could at least open the topic by first asking what the customer thinks of it, rather than introducing it as though it were an easy panacea open to all that the customer just hasn't thought of yet!*This estimate is based on my contact with their top-advised trainer, for whom an initial consult is $400. Perhaps that trainer is particularly expensive.

The staff is absolutely wonderful!!! They understand the financial strain that comes with medical issues so they will let you know what options you have that fit your budget while making sure the needs of your pet are met.

I have been going to this location for 20-plus years and I find everyone who works there to be very polite and kind towards my pets. Pricing I think is great compared to some of the other locations on the Eastside. Only problem is that they are so busy it is hard to get an appointment quickly.

I started visiting the ESAH when I took in a friend's dog. She needed a new home, so she found her furever home with us. We took her to ESAH because that is where she had always gone before. I got to meet the staff and the doctors... they are all so kind and caring. Now I take my other 3 pups there. Not only is the staff accommodating, but the Drs' are wonderful and it is absolutely affordable. My 4-legged babies will continue to get care at the East Side Animal Hospital from now on.
