When I first moved in, the lady at the desk politely asked me to leave a five-star review. And at the time, I did. I have since deleted that review in order to leave this one.I'm leaving a one-star review for the actual company. As far as the staff goes, I'd give them a three-star review. I don't think they went above and beyond, nor do I think they were horrible. Average seems fair. My complaints listed below are towards the company, and do not reflect the staff. The reason I'm leaving a one-star review for the company is due to pricing, a cumbersome entry system, and subpar tenants (which could potentially reflect on the staff).Pricing:When I first moved in, back in March of '22, I grabbed a 10x35 which was the largest unit they had available at the time. After moving in, the actual dimensions are 9'8" x 33'10" (327 sqft) (not a true 10x35=350sqft).I found a promotion online and my rent was $263. After the first 4 months, I got a notice in the mail that my rent was going up to $316. Fast forward 8 months later, my rent jumped again to $366. Fast forward another 9 months, and I got a notice for $418. In less than 2 years, my rent increased by 58%.To look at it in a different light, a 10x35 is 350 ft². At $418 a month, that's $1.20/sq ft. On a dollar per square footage basis, this is entering commercial retail space with full electrical and running water type of territory (albeit probably not in the best neighborhood). With that being said, I don't believe the staff has any control over pricing. When I mentioned that I was moving out, a lady mentioned that she could try and negotiate a different rate. I told her that this was the third rate Increase in less than 2 years, and at that point it wasn't about the money it was about the principle.Cumbersome entry system:The entire entry system to the property and to your unit is done via an app on your phone. My account had late night access and I could come and go at any time. I believe that is something you have to ask for. On more than one occasion however, I could not get into the storage facility. The gate simply would not open. Whether it was a problem with my phone, a problem with the gate system, or a software issue, I was not able to get in.When it comes to actually opening the door on your storage unit, many times the touchpad would not register to turn on the lock. This became extremely frustrating as I would have to play with the lock for sometimes up to a couple minutes to get it to actually let me in. At the worst of it, I remember having to uninstall and reinstall the app in order to get into my storage locker. Some people may not experience this issue. Call me old school, however I would prefer a physical lock with a key. It worked for 100 years, I don't understand the reasoning behind the app controlled locks.Tenants:While I understand people come from all different walks of life, there have definitely been some very interesting people who have come and gone through this storage facility. On more than one occasion, there was clothing and personal belongings strung out in the drive area of the storage unit. Unfortunately this was just a handful of lockers down from the one I was renting.About a month ago, the front glass to the office was all smashed in. There was also a vehicle that had the windows busted out of it and the tire slashed. I'm only guessing, but I assume that was a disgruntled tenant that was unhappy with a rate increase. I could be way off base here but that's the first thing I could think of.Granted, nothing ever happened to my unit, and I didn't have any direct contact or poor experiences with any tenants personally.Overall, I am glad to be out of my unit. And glad to be no longer renting a storage unit at all. As a personal word of advice, if you don't have room for it at home, you should probably think about downsizing rather than paying for storage. The out of sight out of mind methodology will always end up costing you. Especially if your account is set up on

I rented from the Stop 11 location for about 7 months. I have been a renting from the Kildeer location for several years now and even several years before that. I was a little hesitant about the Stop 11 location at first however, I will say from the time that I first rented up to a few months before me vacating, I saw a major change. Keith and Michelle have really done a good job in trying to improve, not just the storage units, but also the area surrounding...
