Today I was stereotyped and racially profiled in JDs sports at, 10043 E Washington St. Management is very rude and called the police on me for no reason. I had rode to the store on a motorcycle with my riding book bag because I just rode my motorcycle to drop some extra clothes off to my kid at school. I was going to buy my fiance some sneakers and need my bag to bring the shoes home. When I walked into the store, I was rudely greeted by a woman far at the counter , who had claimed to be the store manager, with a "you cant bring that book bag in here". I'm not unfamiliar with that policy so it wasn't that she asked me to leave my backpack that caused the issue. It was the aggression and which she spoke, where is she later? Try to say that she just talks like that. Anyways, I ride to stores on my bike often and Ive had to leave my book bag at the front or counter. So I asked, "Did you want me to bring it up to the counter?" And she responded back with an attitude, "You can't bring it in here you have to take it out." And I responded. Well, you see. I just rode here on a motorcycle. I don't have a car to take it out to." She had offered no help or solutions, but continued to tell me that I couldn't bring my bag in with an attitude, as if I did something wrong and wasn't welcomed in the store. so I went and placed it outside of the store. Once I re-entered the store I told her that I did not appreciate the attitude and manner that she greeted me with walking in. And I tried to explain to her that If the policy was on the door, then I would've understand the tone because I didn't follow what was posted, but it wasn't! I asked if there was a manager that I could speak to. She told me that she was the manager. And that this was her store. I responded well you don't own the store so who is the manager above you, because you have a bad attitude. She refused to provide me with any information, and she said well, you can leave. And I said I don't need to leave. I haven't done anything wrong. So she threatened, "well, I'm going to call the police then." "I said okay Im not scared of the police" She proceeded to called the police on me from the dialogue. I went to browse the store for the shoe and was looking up the customer service number or if i could find a manager number. She yelled "Yeah you're not getting any service! so you might as well just leave." And I said nothing as I was calling up the customer service hotline. Once I got connected with someone in customer service I was explaining to them the situation and they asked me what the store number was and What was her name? and I asked her and she said I'm not telling you anything you need to leave my store. So I told the customer person that she wouldn't provide me with information and that's when the police officer walked in. And told me that if she says I have to leave that I have to go or I would be trespassing. which I was unaware of so I was escorted out of the store like some criminal who just committed a crime because the manager had a power trip because I called her out on her rudeness. And I've been in the store on multiple occasions and there is always rude customer service. So I would really like to speak to be reached by A district manager or the correct store manager About what occurred today. I don't appreciate having the police called on me when i am a loyal customer as my reward member status will show. Upon uploading this review, I see that I am not the only one who has had a rude encounter with their management or customer service from their Employees so I'm just wondering what it is is that they are doing on a higher level to take care of this issue because it is very unacceptable!!

They don’t even deserve one star. They were so rude. I was waiting over an hour for the shoes people coming in. They keep getting more shoes on top of that, The staff and the workers just kept walking, back-and-forth mean mugging me because I am not there race apparently! Then, finally, the same girl that was mean mugging me walking past me very rudely came and got on the cash register when she could have done that in first place ? they made me wait for my shoes to come out of the back after I asked for them an hour ago they took the person behind me she was waiting for her shoes as well. She started running her mouth, saying I’m in peoples personal space, when there’s a huge line! I can’t get through stop trying to move people around when we’re there, We’re waiting in line our shoes should’ve been already out there. That’s not the first time they’ve had an attitude. I went in there with my mother before, and they just kept looking at me and me mugging me and everything I touched they act like I was going to steal. They are very rude. The store is trash!!! Workers are too! They have no respect!!! I will not be back here!!! I’ll be going to Greenwood where I’m welcomed!!!!!

This place won't last in the hood. Management is very rude. The first time I came in there the manager was standing behind the counter chit-chatting about personal affairs with other employees. She wouldn't even acknowledge that I was waiting to check out. That same day I saw her getting into an argument with the customer about returns when the lady had her receipt. They tried to sell me some $200 Air Jordans that had a red spot on it that was blood or ketchup I don't know. If you hire people that don't know how to administer good customer service like they're doing right here in the hood then your business is not going to last long just like the family Dollar that closed up on 21st Street and on 30th Street. Someone also busted out the window as soon as this place opened. I'm assuming that was due to poor customer service and rude management. Look forward to this place closing soon

Is it so hard to find staffing that they continue to let the manager be employed after all of the feedback provided? The vendor that collects these surveys is called Medallia. Negative surveys go directly to the store managers & they choose a response that JD has deemed appropriate. So guess what? The manager is responding to these surveys. However, they likely negatively impact some metric she's measured on so if you've had a bad experience like the rest of us, please continue to provide feedback via Google with 1 star reviews ..if for nothing else, to bring awareness to other consumers that might unknowingly step in the negative experience landmine. Negative behaviors are viral & it's clear when visiting this location that staff walks in the shadow of their leader. Make the trip to an alternate destination. I promise, you wont be sorry. This one might be close in proximity to you but you won't regret a better experience at different location + when you buy, you just help reinforce the manager achieving her sales goals & stay employed. Do better. You never know who's watching. Managers that exhibit positive behaviors are snatched up by those that lead quality organizations providing great opportunities that recognize good leaders when they see them through recruiting. With the tolerance & low standards JD has for rudeness, laziness & performance, some are just destined to make a career feom that tolerance. SHOP ELSEWHERE. The staff here is toxic.

I went up there to exchange some items to get a bigger size and a black women behind the register I’m guessing a manager didn’t have the best customer service. I have my receipt to those items however the price tags was off the items. She said the price tags needs to be on the item to exchange them even though I have them plus the receipt. She was no help at all. So I not going to that location again. I rather go to the one at Castleton or greenwood.

Today March 30, we were exchanging a pair of shoes. The manager at JD, she is VERY RUDE and not polite to customers at all.
She called my boyfriend out of his name and told him that he could not return or exchange his shoes. The store is nice but needs better
management.

The customer service is awful. Openly talking about customers in their mics to each other and laughing. Very unprofessional. Took their time with certain customers they liked but were rude to everyone else. The store is amazing. The staff is what makes me not want to return.
