I called her inquiring about daycare , left a VM and when I got a call back the lady asked me what I needed . Advised her of my approval of CCDF , she decided to tell me how horrible of a mother I am to have my kids in daycare for 10 hours a day and it’s not healthy for kids . As if I don’t work 9 hrs a day and travel time . What a way to make me feel horrible for providing care for me and my kids . I would not recommend the worst person I’ve ever spoken to at a daycare center !!! I amDisgusted !!!!!! I can’t believe this is who you have calling parents back that inquire on daycare lol !!!!!

This greenspace is located behind Cleo's Bodega Grocery and Café and in front of the Flanner House. This space was awarded by IPL as part of their Project GreenSpace program in 2018, in partnership with Keep Indianapolis Beautiful, Groundwork Indy and the Center of Wellness for Urban Women. Previously it was a vacant lot, that was transformed into the greenspace you see today. It has some information placards, some stone seating, and rectangular shaped garden space. There is also rock paved walkways and a garden pergola. Unfortunately, I visited during the cold months, so there were not plants or blooms. The greenspace was dead. I hope to return in the spring and see this place come to life. The space is intended to be a place where local residents can pick fruit, care for fruit trees, learn about nutrition, and participate in activities such as yoga and community parties. The greenspace has a huge parking lot that belongs to the Flanner House right behind it, so parking is not an issue. I recommend checking this place out during plant season. In addition to being a garden, it is somewhat a peaceful and soothing spot to just sit and chill. Even though it is located right off of a busy street.

I originally wrote a good review for this daycare now my view has changed I have lost all respect for Miss. Guynn the director. My son told me that Candace “popped”him and so I immediately told the director what he told me. Neither I or their father uses the term “pop” so I know he must’ve got that from somewhere else. Ms. Guynn was very dismissive of the accusation and seemed to not really care and said “well maybe she just bumped into him, we don’t do that here my staff would never do something like that!”. She seemed very reluctant to watch the tapes from the classroom stating that it would take too much time to watch an entire day. She called me after she watched just the portion of the day when the kids take a nap and said she didn’t find anything, meanwhile and that she believed her employee. My son had been going to this daycare for about 2 years and never once said anyone hit him and I’m sure he was bumped many times by accident and never said any teacher hit him. So I decided to confront the worker myself and immediately she had an attitude, when I simply asked her what happened. so naturally we got into an argument and then she threatened to hit me. which to me was confirmation that she did it because If your innocent you wouldn’t be so aggressive when somebody just asking you a question. Candace is rachet af and shouldn’t be working with kids.

Black Friday deals on books and gift items at Ujamaa bookstore. I bought several books from local authors and asked questions about their work. I got several business cards and emails for future reference.

This orchard and community garden is open to the public. People are free to gather the food that they need that grows from this garden, which makes me really happy. I love that the community cares for this garden, and the community is invited to enjoy its bounty. When I visited during the winter, the Flanner House Orchard was covered with snow and didn't have any fruit or vegetables growing. I'm looking forward to coming back to see what it looks like in the summer when things are blooming!

A good place to support and assist. They offer services that are sorely needed in a food desert area. They need help and donations.
