I had been taking my cat here for weeks to be treated for an ongoing issue with his colon. The vets here told me they suspected cancer after doing bloodwork and referred me to IndyVet for further testing. This news was very sudden and shocking as he had been doing better. I did take him to IndyVet and they found that his liver had almost 0 function left, so I made the difficult decision to euthanize him for his own well being. I updated my vet at Freeland via email that my cat passed away, and also asked if I could donate the medicine I had just bought for him. I never received a response back. The vet that was treating my cat had been seeing him for almost 2 months, so it’s unbelievable that I never received a follow up call to see how my cat was doing after they delivered such devastating news. I had to euthanize my dog several months earlier and the way Animal Medical Center treated me was significantly different. They sent me letters of condolences and asked how I was holding up when I came to pick up his ashes. I really appreciated the way they treated me afterwards. I never received any follow up communication from my vet or any staff at Freeland. It’s like they completely forgot about my cat that they had been seeing regularly for weeks.

Freeland Animal Hospital offers the highest standard of veterinary care for my fur babies! The doctors and staff are so caring and attentive to their needs, and everyone is always so friendly and really go the extra mile. We love all the doctors and everyone on staff!

Apparently, they can't figure out their payment system in terms of deposits. I had two separate deposits on two different cards. We bring in the first animal and everything goes well. They said that they did some free work for us. Cool. We couldn't afford anymore anyways. Pay the bill and its slightly cheaper than we thought, but hey who looks a gift horse in the mouth? Later we bring in the second animal for their appointment, still thinking we have a deposit. Discuss with the vet tech and they still say we have a the deposit. Sign documents to that effect. I go to pick up my animal and its $250 more than I was supposed to be paying. Told the lady at the front desk and she seemed to think that its not big deal that I'm being charged more. Tells me that my deposit was used on my previous appointment.... what? How does that work?I've talked with two people from this place and both extremely unhelpful. I didn't budget for another $250 on an already expensive visit. The people at this vet don't seem to understand that. All they want to repeat to me is that they did free work and we owe them more money. Which seemed to be there when I dropped the animal off, but now doesn't exist after the work is done... Also, when we went back to look at the check in paperwork and budget that was discussed. Somehow we only got the paperwork for the first vet visit and the quote for that one. They refused to give us the quote that was discussed and signed stating how much the limit was with the deposit. Angie tried to strong arm me on the phone to just pay the amount since " we did do quite a bit of free work."ALSO, you will be shamed if you can’t pay more than you have. Brought my animals in for a teeth cleaning and felt like the staff was telling me that I should be able to pay more. I was already dropping two grand on both of them.

Dr. Francis and staff go above and beyond for our pets care. From the phone call scheduling the apt, to being greeted upon arrival, to friendliness of staff and techs and all the time Dr Francis spends with us we have always been pleased with the care we have received over the years and won’t go anywhere else!

The entire staff was friendly and caring. They took great care of my dog. Addressed the issues without any fuss. Was able to get a same day appointment. They even called the next day to make sure everything was going okay. pricing was reasonable they even went over everything with me before hand.

Very pleasant experience. The staff is wonderful. Kind. Caring. Patient. Dr. Abernathy is fantastic. We are transferring all our animal care to Freeland.

We were in town for Christmas and got an 8 week old puppy as a gift. She needed the next series of shots. The folks at Freeland were amazing, helpful, instructive, gracious, knowledgeable. If we lived in Indianapolis they would certainly be our regular vet.

This is not even my regular vet, but I had a semi-emergent situation on a Friday of a holiday weekend, and not only did they get me in, but they also were very great to work with. I can't recommend them enough. Thank you.

We have been going to Dr Freeland's office for 13 years now. We love the care they provide to our dog. We even had a scare when he was attacked by 2 pitbulls. We called and they got us in immediately-no questions asked!

Without ever having seen my pup before, they got me in within minutes of my arrival. I hadn’t even called ahead. She was injured in an accident and they took care of us right away. So glad I switched to Freeland.

Everyone who works here that we've had contact with are absolutely wonderful! They are always friendly and greet us and our pup with a smile. She can get excitable when going to the vet and they always make her feel comfortable and she leaves happy having recieved plenty of affection and treats. We wouldn't take our beloved four-legged member of the family anywhere else!
