Great thrift store always getting new stuff. Though some other goodwills around Indy have a bit better selection.

This store always has nice finds, music, is clean and most of the staff are very nice. The clean shaven male manager is not nice though and this is like the third time i've encountered his rudeness.

I made a big mistake and left a package intended for USPS in a basket that I donated. The package was sealed and had a label on it, so I was hopeful that they would at least check the label to see if it was an active shipping label before they sent it off. I understand, though, that a random USPS package at Goodwill likely happens all the time, but opening a sealed package without investigating at all doesn't sit right with me.I called the store 3 times, but the phone number on Google is not actually a working number, so I sat on hold with it just playing a recording each time, it turns out. After emailing them, someone at the store finally reached out to me and said they were pretty sure they had the item I had in the package and they'd call me back. I asked how long it would be because I was selling the item on Poshmark and wondered if I should cancel the order. I wasn't sure if it'd be days or hours. The manager said she was looking right now so not long. No one called. I checked after a few hours and they said they did have the item, so I let the manager know I was on my way. As I got there, the manager was leaving for a break of some sort and when an employee told her I was there for my item, she crumpled up her face like it was atrocious that I would show up. She then had an employee give me my item, so I wasn't able to talk with her about whether Goodwill has policies in place that discuss how to handle unopened mail or whether this was just a really random occurrence. I know I messed up by donating the package, but everything that happened after I made that mistake was bad communication and poor handling. I am grateful I got my item back, but since they opened my package, the other little trinket included inside the package as a gift to the buyer are now for sale here, probably. Not a great experience for me and definitely left a bad taste in my mouth how it was all handled.

I used to love this GW, but they have given into the corporate mindset - price everything, even if it's broken, for a ridiculous amount of money. GW seems to have forgotten that they are a 5013C organization- meaning NON-PROFIT! It looks like they are all for profit for FREE STUFF! The employees do not reap the rewards of record profits. They are still paid a pathetic wage compared to the average. Shame on you!

"Freedom is only one generation away from extinction."- President Ronald ReaganI remember shopping in a Hong Kong store in 1996...only months before communist China would take over their sovereignty. There were *no dressing rooms* to try on a garment before purchase, and there were also *no return* policies.I was severely reprimanded by a store clerk for attempting to slip a t-shirt over my head to be certain of the fit.At this point, I thought about how grateful I was to live in the United States of America... a free country where none of this intimidating totalitarian authoritarianism over the population existed.Well Here we are almost 30 years later.GoodWill certainly seems to have some affinity for socialism and *China-centric* protocols."Socialism is just communism for *slow learners."-AnonymousWelcome to Marxist America....home of the *pseudo humanitarian Good Will hypocrites.*

Needed some pants for a painting job. They didn't have what I wanted. But I was able to find some that would work. The prices were reasonable and I now have some paint pants. Check them out sometime soon and see what they can do for you.

Cheap, pre-owned clothing; luggage and bags; books; boardgames and puzzles; glassware; old fashioned electric appliances (although NOT really a place to look for smartphones, laptops, desktops, or so on); and many other various goods.

Drop off items not handled with any care; will not drop off at this location again. Maybe it was an isolated incident or employee but ours and other peoples' items were actively being damaged while we were all still dropping off.The employee was tossing items and books (and missing the bins), which bent the corners of the cover as they hit the ground with the pages splayed out against the floor. We weren't even back in the car and some nice wooden (somewhat fragile) doll bunk beds we dropped off were tossed out of the bin directly on the concrete - right in front of us! It looked that the first half might have broke as it hit the ground. It was such a bad experience that we nearly decided to take all of our items back to take to another location. We didn't want the confrontation so we just left. Not impressed one bit.

Have been an avid GW shopper for years but likely won't continue due to their ridiculous price increases (for stuff they get free) AND stoppage of Senior, Veteran and other discounts as of Aug. 1st. Sad for all of us on limited incomes especially. ?

It's pretty firmly established that I have a love-hate relationship with most Goodwill stores. As an organization with a central mission of "empowering people to increase their independence and reach their potential through education, health and employment," I often feel like Goodwill falls woefully short of this mission in the operational aspects of the average Goodwill stores. A good majority of the stores are incredibly lacking in terms of accessibility and while they do employ and train folks with disabilities I've often found the stores quite dismal in terms of basic work skills that would allow individuals to enter a more competitive work situation. In short, I don't believe Goodwill stores tend to live into their stated values. However, there are always exceptions and I believe it's important to acknowledge these exceptions. My visit yesterday to the Goodwill on Michigan Road was a noteworthy exception. This particular location is, I believe, an older location. It's in a free-standing building adjacent to Lowe's and Aldi. There used to be a fast food restaurant directly in front of it, though it has since closed. This seems to be a smaller location than some of the more recent spots, though I did notice they seem to have a larger than usual storage area. There are a handful of parking spots up front and they do meet ADA guidelines - strangely, this is not always true at Goodwill. They do have the usual appropriate curb cuts and nearly every location, possibly every one here in Central Indiana, has automatic doorways. Because this is a smaller location, it's organized a little differently than many locations. You still have clothing for women on the right, for men on the left, and housewares toward the back. The cashiers are close to the door. This is fairly close to other interior layouts, however, it's different enough that I actually had to look at signage. While I don't get to this area often, I grew up in this area and it's a weird mix of slightly challenged neighborhoods, working professionals, and healthcare with the nearby Ascension campus. I did find aisles a lot tighter here. That makes sense considering the issues with size, but it makes it hard for wheelchair users like myself. Several times, I had to either exit an aisle or not enter one because I couldn't pass through it. However, there was a lot to like here. The clothing was generally in good shape. It was mostly sized accurately (a huge issue for Goodwill). This Goodwill seemed fairly well staffed (though they are hiring). I did not see the usual "apply here" kiosk, though I may have just missed it. The employees here were friendlier than I often find in Goodwill stores including a positive management (or leadership) presence. I was particularly impressed by the cashier, a young man who went above and beyond in customer service to the point of even assisting me as I returned the cart after getting them to my car. He was friendly, helpful, and I could easily see his skills transferring to a more competitive setting. I tend to think Goodwill is overpriced. This has been exacerbated by the pandemic - jeans for $7.99? I don't think so. While you can still certainly find good deals, given that Goodwill does tend to have major issues with accurate sizing I tend to shy away from anything too expensive in clothing. The 50% off Saturdays, I believe, are still on hold. They do still have Goodwill Rewards, though even the rewards have lessened since the pandemic. Essentially, you shop and donate to Goodwill because of the mission. It's a "feel good" thing. They tend to be the priciest of the thrift stores, though to be fair they also do MUCH more for the community than most of the thrift stores. Here in Central Indiana, that includes the Excel Center, Nurse-Family Partnership, Job Training and Support, and other services. While I've definitely had my issues with Goodwill, I found this experience to be an overall positive one with a clean store, friendly employe
