Very bad experience with this hotel. We were there for kids' swim meet. After we checked in, we immediately went to swim meet. So we didn't notice the squeaky and annoying sound from bathroom ceiling fan (even though it was off) until 8pm. I called the front desk multiple times. The first time, they said they would send someone to check. But nobody showed up until 9pm. So I called them again but they kept hanging up my call. I had to go to front desk physically to ask what was going on. They said their engineer refused to go to check but they can move us to a different room. But the only room left was a king bed room, which I don't want. I ordered room with two queen beds for purpose due to my sleeping problems. Plus, I had to move all my luggage and kids need to go to swim meet at 6am the next morning. So I asked them to send someone else to check. Maybe it is just a simple fix. They promised that they will send another engineer but that never happen during our stay!!! I spent more than $300 per night just hoping kids can get good night sleep for competition. I am very very very disappointed with their service. It is just a simple request from your clients, how can you ignore it and even lie?Don't ever stay here!

I just stayed at the Hampton Inn Indianapolis Downtown IUPUI when we were in Indianapolis for work, hosting our conference for Testicular Cancer Awareness Foundation. The hotel was beautiful, the rooms were clean, and the staff was kind and helpful. The location was perfect for us, close to where we were hosting the Testicular Cancer Conference, and I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone coming to Indianapolis!

I would give them 3.5 stars if I could because they need to be docked a little more for the parking situation. We opted for self parking in their parking garage because we knew we would be coming and going, and didn't wanna deal with valet. But the self parking was frustrating as all heck. Every time we tried to get in or out, the card reader didn't work. Our physical room key, and the one in the HH app did not work...ever. So we had to wait for someone to come and open the gate for us. When we showed back up around 10pm Saturday night, a person ran out and said all spaces were full, but I have a handicap placard, and fortunately there was one handicap space available. So I asked, what would have happened if I didn't have the placard and there are no spaces. She said they send self parking hotel guests to valet. (I have never written about hotel parking in such detail.....LOL!).The hotel itself was nice, especially for a Hampton Inn. This location is very close to the canal (I'm bummed we didn't have time to check that out). There are some university buildings across the street. The front desk staff were really nice, helpful, and informative. Totally on top of things. It's a very busy location, lots of people always hanging out in the lobby. It is shared with Homewood Suites, so the hallways split and depending on which elevator you take, it can be a bit of a maze to get to the Hampton Inn section. Our room was very clean, and the bathroom was surprisingly nice and spacious. We had a mini fridge, but no microwave. They offered no perks (like free water) for Hilton Honors guests . But they had a water bottle filler on the ground floor, and we used that. We didn't partake in the free breakfast because we had brunch plans, so I have no info on that. We selected a room at the very end of the hallway, since I'm a light sleeper. I'm really glad we did, because as we were walking down the hall, as we were passing rooms, we could hear people having normal conversations through the doors. So not the best insulation. The next morning we repeatedly heard masses of kids running and screaming further down the hall and we were like "thank goodness we got a room at the end of the hall!!!". Also, the main road in front of the hotel (N West St) is a popular route for emergency vehicles, so we heard sirens throughout the night. So if that would drive you nuts, get a room on the opposite side. (For reference, we were room 501, with a large window facing N West St). The price was very reasonable for a city hotel on a weekend. We would stay here again; but we'd opt for valet parking, especially since it's only $5 more/day.

This hotel is very accommodating to their guests! We truly enjoyed our stay and the historic church that is part of the building is very cool and historical. The breakfast was great!! The canal walk outside was so beautiful. Would stay here again in the future.

If you are going to Indianapolis for any reason, stay here. Its staff is very responsive, helpful and interested in your wellbeing. The proximity of the canal and restaurants along with the interesting history of the property itself gave me a feeling of "vacation" though I was on a short business trip. The hotel's gift shop isn't your usual Hampton Inn offering of snack bars and soda. You might even buy a locally made bourbon for a friend back home. And breakfast is provided in a room with a stained glass window (the building was once a church). The seating area behind the check in is perfect for getting a little work done before heading home, and I even got to vote on the staff's Halloween handmade projects--so silly and fun!I highly recommend this hotel and I'll be back!

We absolutely loved our stay here! The building was fresh and clean. We loved seeing the history of the building and the preserved aspects of the church. Our room was extremely spacious and clean. Breakfast was nice and offered a good range of items. The small store was very convenient and offered drinks, snacks, toiletries, as well as a cool variety of alcohol (local i believe). We received a few texts throughout our stay making sure we were happy/had everything we needed, which was well appreciated. We also appreciated the close proximity to IUPUI. Highly recommend this hotel!

Does not know how to handle when a buisness books for their clients. Was charged everyone's parking instead of just myself even though multiple cards were provided for each person. In addition when I left my car at valet I specifically told them to not pull car on curb due to clearance issues. Well next morning woke up to my vehicle pulled onto a high curb. Poor staff, poor valet, but nice hotel

Located on the northeast corner of N West St and W Vermont St. in downtown Indianapolis, across the street from the IUPUI campus. This is one of the most beautiful hotels around! It's built within/attached to a historic church incorporating new, modern construction with existing pieces. You'll need to stop in yourself to see the wonderfully preserved stained glass. If your driving in, you'll want to park in the parking garage, which is located off W Vermont St., just be prepared to drop $35 a night. This is where the hotel's main entrance is located. The Hampton Inn and the Homewood Suites are both in the same location, which is very unique, so you can map to either hotel. A portion of the building is the Hampton Inn rooms and another portion is the Homewood Suites rooms. The Hampton Inn and Homewood Suite both check-in in the front of the building. Both hotel brands share the building, including the breakfast downstairs. There's a breakfast section upstairs that I'm guessing will eventually open for breakfast as well. The hotel has snacks available for purchase as well as soda, beer, liquor, and wine. I do have to say, I did appreciate the nice selection of local beer they had available. Oh ya, they have a manager's special on Wednesday nights I think, were they serve some draft beer too.The hotel's located within walking distance to downtown Indianapolis, probably about a 10-15 minute walk at a comfortable pace. It's also about a 20-30 minute walk to Lucas Oil Stadium. The canal is right next to the hotel, and it's a great place to walk and relax. There's also a Starbucks located on the outside corner of the parking garage. The room was very clean and the staff was very kind and attentive. I'd definitely stay here again in the future.Thank you for making my stay, feel like I was at home.Rooms: The Hampton Inn room was very roomy and clean. I think it's common for new hotels now, the restroom doors are sliders with no locks.Nearby activities: The hotel's located right next to the downtown canal walk, within walking distance to downtown Indianapolis, the Indiana Statehouse, and many other cool places.Safety: Being fairly close to IU Health University Hospital as well as downtown, there's quite a bit of first responder sounds (police, ambulance, and fire department) that go up/down West St. The area just outside the hotel is pretty vacant when the sun goes down, not a lot of foot traffic.Walkability: You can walk to just about anything in the area, as well as to downtown. It may be better to walk to downtown so you don't have to find a parking spot/pay for parking.dFood & drinks: The hotel sells snacks/soda (chips, candy, ice cream, etc.) as well as beer, wine, and liquor. They have a good selection of local beer too!Noteworthy details: The hotel is built within/attached to a historic church with beautiful stained glass, and a restored staircase.

The hotel is very clean and feels fresh, linens were clean. Room was ready when promised and the digital key worked. It did NOT work with the parking garage though. That required an in person visit to the first desk. The front desk staff aren't as friendly as I usually encounter at other Hamptons. Most Hampton and Tru locations provide water bottle packages to Honors members. I noticed the water in the usual area on the counter and asked if this location provided the same. I was quickly told those bottles are only for our Gold members and not Silver. Well, OK. I know - just being picky but customers notice those little acts to make a stay first rate when traveling. Still 4 out of 5 stars.

A recently built Hampton Inn. $35 dollars for parking. Located along the Canal Walk and near the Kurt Vonnegut musuem.
