Mostly unfriendly staff especially at return location. Do NOT trust them at all and make sure to take a picture of your dash when you return showing mileage and fuel gauge.I had just topped off the almost full tank for good measure just before driving to the return location at IND airport on 03/08/2024 around 1400. The gas gauge was literally above Full as I had only driven 8 miles since topping it off before returning the car. Unfriendly lady tells me I'm all set and doesn't say a word about any issues or charges.. I ask for a receipt and she says it'll be emailed to me. I check my email today just to find that she's charged me for 2 gallons of gas for a total of $13.54... My bet is that they do this to maximize their profit given this was business travel and most people wouldn't notice or make a big deal of $13-14. Well, I noticed and will be escalating this internally with my employer as well as with American Express. It makes me wonder how many times they've done this to my company and overcharged us. Given the amount of travel we do, this could be a substantial sum. Disappointing, tacky, sketchy and a pathetic way of doing business for a few extra lousy dollars.

Hertz service is deplorable. I rented a car and the tire had a slow leak. I noticed it one evening and added air right away. This morning I have a flat tire. For my inconvenience they are CHARGING me for the tire change. This is unbelievable!

Keep an eye on stuff and take a picture of your dash when you return.I had just filled up the car at the airport gas station and drove directly to the return. Thank goodness I kept the gas receipt. As I was walking to the terminal I got the notification of the Hertz receipt, looked and saw a $80 gas charge, them saying I returned it at less than half!I turned immediately around and strangely despite it being super busy the car was already gone. I found the person who checked me in and, gotta say I was upset, explained the situation and showed him the gas station receipt from less than ten minutes ago.He did reverse the charge, but if I hadn’t checked the email walking to the terminal I likely would have been SOL.This was a dodge charger with a digital gauge and I’m pretty sure the guy was looking at the temp gauge, not the fuel gauge, which was right next to it. Gotta wonder how many folks have had the same thing happen but not notice it til they were already gone.Lesson learned, snap a photo of the dash when you leave, keep your gas receipt and check your hertz receipt right away!!!

Place has trash policy that could never apply at a stand alone store. Stephanie the manager was rude and unaccomidating. I would avoid this car rental place.

They want to take there sweet time to get stuff figured when some was renting there car and caused an accident. It’s been over a week and I’m still waiting to hear from them. I have multiple times. I get told the same thing every day. It’s getting ridiculous. I’m so over it with them

I was at the Indianapolis Airport, not a place I go to a lot, so naturally, I had no clue where to go. When I found the area, the man behind the desk was very kind. The trip back to Lafayette, Indiana, was at night (dark). I didn't have to drive, and he knew the route with ease all the detours, etc. Down to the airport and back was only $ 50.00, and I didn't have to dive (deal) with other drivers, the weather, detours car maintenance (anything can happen to your vehicle. ) Lafayette Limo made my trip much better, easier, cheaper, and more convenient for me. Thank you.

They would not rent to us even though the car was paid fir because we wanted to put the depicted in a debit/ credit card because we had no return flight. We live here and needed to rent a car for 10 days. This is the stupidest thing I have ever heard.

My experience with Hertz at the Indianapolis Airport was nothing short of a logistical nightmare. Upon arriving at the Gold booth, there was no staff present, and the signage misleadingly directed me back to the main counter. After enduring a wait behind several others in line, the main counter staff instructed me to return to the lot, promising assistance. Unfortunately, the Gold office was deserted, and attempts to contact the manager, as per the provided phone number, were futile, leading straight to voicemail.Juggling my luggage, I wandered through the lot, hoping to locate my assigned car. Although some vehicles displayed names on the dash, mine was conspicuously absent. Approaching an employee parking a car, I sought guidance, only to be met with uncertainty. Another employee, seemingly unfazed by my distress, casually advised me to select any car from the lot.The lack of clear communication and empathy from Hertz staff added to the frustration. The culture at this particular Hertz location appears far from customer-centered, with an evident lack of coordination and concern for patrons. Only the employee tasked with parking cars demonstrated a semblance of empathy, offering a brief apology for the predicament. This experience left me questioning the competence and customer service ethos of Hertz at the Indianapolis Airport. The absence of clear instructions, coupled with indifferent staff, created a chaotic and disappointing situation. It is my sincere hope that Hertz addresses these issues to prevent others from enduring a similarly distressing experience.

STAY AWAY - this Hertz location does not honor reservations! We reserved a car 3 months in advance of our trip to Indy. When we arrived after a 1h flight delay, a hertz employee informed us they were going to close soon. We said okay, we’ll hurry. She then watched us load all our luggage, 2 car seats, a baby and a toddler into the car, and closed up shop right in front of us. She literally looked me in the eyes and told me to “go rent from Avis” while my baby was crying next to me and multiple other parties sat in their Hertz rentals unable to leave the lot. Everyone had to unpack their cars and find alternative transport. We ended up having to take an expensive cab and figure out how to get a new car a day before Christmas. This was shockingly unprofessional and deeply unkind. I’ve been a hertz presidents circle member for 10 years and they just lost my business.

It's very easy to get in and out of this place. The service was fairly quick for the time that we were there. If you need to get somewhere quick, this is probably a good place to start.

This must be one of the most poorly managed Hertz rental agencies in the country. I am a business traveler and rented a long term rental from Hertz. When I picked up the vehicle, I was the only person in line yet I waited 10 minutes before I decided to interrupt the three agents who were having a conversation amongst themselves to see if one could help. The car I received was clean but with 43,000 miles on it, it only took a week before the electrics in the passenger window stopped working. I have called the location multiple times over the past few days but the phone rings for 2:57 min before auto hanging up. It seems the only way I am going to get service to swap the vehicle is to walk in and wait in yet another 0 person line for assistance. Hertz Corporate, you need to pay attention. This hurts your reputation.
