Scam. The menu listed a price for hookah, maybe $15 apiece. Afterwards we get billed for $20 apice. I asked the waitress and she said prices had changed and the menu was outdated. I said, how the heck was I supposed to know that, when this is the menu you just gave me? So she got grumpy and asked if I wanted to see the manager. Manager eventually came, saw my complaint, and took the money off the bill. They charge you for bottled water because "we don't serve tap water after 5pm". So if you want to stay hydrated plan to spend an additional $5 per person or more on bottled water. This despite us literally sitting right next to the bar.A large gratuity is included automatically on the bill, without your consent or notification in advance. Some fees are hidden on the menu and listed at a different location from the price of what you actually order. There is also a cover charge, which you should refuse to pay and walk out, so you don't have to deal with any of this nonsense. They're going to try to nickel and dime you for anything they can, even by charging you extra for stuff not on the menu.

Been there twice . Both times was told they have big parties are coming and all tables are reserved , so was only able to seat at the bar with only two other patrons in the empty lounge . Both times after staying there for an hour it was still almost empty by midnight with 90% tables with reserved signs . Not very friendly staff or manager , limited food and alcohol, strange selection of tv programs and 90s music .

All around awful. Worst hookah I've ever had and not clean. They also over charger for everything with no price transparency.

Went there on a Saturday. Paid no cover charge. Its fee to sit at the bar and the tables have a $60 minimum which isnt bad. Typical bottle service. I had a few margaritas which were tasty. Dj was dope. Had the lamb chops and they were good, but the rice was TERRIBLE LOL. Cool place to visit. I have no issue with going back. I dont do hookah, so i cant comment on that.

If I could give this place 0 starts or less I would in a heart beat … worst hookah bar I’ve ever been too and I’ve been to a lot of bad ones. Garbage hookah and unsanitary “ the water was yellow” . And garbage employees, super rude and have no clue on how to make hookahs, I would not recommend going here at all unless you wanna leave sick or with a headache . I will be forwarding all this to the city health department.

Arrogant and rude management! We went for Hookah and some hot drinks. They seated us, took our order and then asked for cover charge after the fact. When we tried to negotiate the manager rudely asked us to leave. I got some racist vibes from this interaction.

Annual cousins holiday gift exchange was hosted at Lava Lounge!Professional and friendly welcome from security who open the door for me and immediately invited me in from the cold to check my ID (21+). The waitress was nice and thorough, assisting me with recommended cocktails by inquiring about my preferred liquor. They do not sell fancy drinks (e.g., Chocolate or Dirty Martinis). I was the first one there from my party so I really enjoyed the personalized service. As the lounge got busy some of the the cousins felt the service was delayed. One mentioning their food was cold so the waitress took it back to the kitchen and immediately brought back a microwaved heated plate. The Southern Shrimp and Grits was definitely my favorite! The cremini mushroom sauce was a show stopper! I also enjoyed the Tequila Sunrise, I upgraded to Casamigos;). It's Broad ripple so parking is always at a minimal and never convenient. It was Sunday so street parking was free. I decided to park 2 blocks away and walk it to get my steps in after unsuccessfully circling the block to find closer parking by the lounge.

I'll never refer anyone to this place, and I'll never return to Lava. It says a lot that I have never left a review of any place, positive or negative. When I asked the manager an inquiry about my reservations, he was VERY rude. It wasn't enjoyable, the hookah was awful, the seats were ripped, and it was unprofessional. Since I don't drink, they gave me TONIC water with mint and lime when I asked for a mock-tail, which is a cocktail without alcohol. This place is the WORSE I've ever gone to. Even though I don't go out much, practically everyone I invited claimed they couldn't go since they don't like lava. Now that I know the reason, It's awful... Avoid going there. This location is disgusting, filthy, unprofessional, and extremely trashy.

This place deserves zero starts. I’m sorry to the employees. They were rude and not very servicing, but also seemed a bit sad… Absolutely the worst hookah bar. They would not even seat us due to some bs party that wasn’t set to start until 2 hours later. My aunt convinced us to go back, luckily we didn’t have to pay cover charge. We bought mediocre drinks and had a bland ‘fruity’ hookah. So after over $100 we spent here, despite not paying the cover charge, they kicked us out. I guess we didn’t fit the scene. 0/10 for chillness . Do better guys! You have potential. What sucks is I wanted to order food and didn’t even get the chance.

Very poor service, for starters we were not greeted at all. The place was pretty empty.Once we were offered a table, the waitress asked how are checks were going to be split.Once we ordered our drinks which were honestly pretty good we were told there would be a drink minimum of $250 for 3-4 people lol for hookah and a limited menu items. The waitress seemed very annoyed and impatient. My boyfriend and I would not likely spend 40$ a piece. I think that's something that should be said at the beginning of the waitress /hostess responsibilities. It just not making a lot of sense to me. The bottle service was shoved our way to assist in bringing down the 250$ minimum. I'm sorry I don't think that's a standard price and the waitress could not keep the lie straight in my opinion.

$40 entry where I had to cash app the hostess, shady AF, there’s always an “event” for an older crowd 50+ and they want you to reserve a table with bottle service. It’s broad ripple where the majority of other places has $4 drinks with a younger crowd. It’s easier to go to the Egyptian.

My husband and I came from Buffalo, Ny to enjoy the city and our friends here. We visited back in January also and we had a great time and enjoyed GOOOOD food and drinks. The best part was the WINGS and lamb chops!! Coming from the home of the Buffalo Wings.. definitely gets a stamp of approval from us! We will be back again for our nights out. Thanks for a good time!

Trained here with the intentions of working as a server. I was there 5 days for training from 9pm until 2-3am , I was paid $8 an hour during training and then after the five days were over was told that they would send me the schedule once it was completed. I was even given a shirt for uniform . I feel like I was discriminated against and not for being black but for being a darker skinned black female . I also feel as tho I was used for that time for labor or to help out with the intentions of never being employed. My time was very much so wasted ..so all my brown girls just steer clear ??♀️
