“A good friend has had great experiences here so when I had questions about my dog's food and harnesses I knew exactly where to go!My friend said talk to OJ or Max and both of them greeted us warmly when we entered the store.I talked to OJ and told them the challenges we were having with Carolina's allergies and leash training and OJ was a wealth of information! “It seems like someone flipped a switch and all of us millenials have suddenly become obsessed with birding. Unfortunately, the "bird" aisle in most big box stores peddles products without much knowledge, and we end up with weeds, rodents, invasive birds, or disease. Instead, make the wise choice of asking questions and making your purchases at Backyard Birds. Like the aquarium store a bit further up on Keystone, these guys know their stuff, and they pick products that actually meet their intent, without the fluff. You won't get any random thistle mixed in with the nyjer, or milo with the sunflower chips. They'll tell you how to get bluebirds instead of sparrows, and how to attract woodpeckers while repelling starlings. You'll spend less money and see more success than if you fill your shopping cart at the stores up the road.”

“We took our dogs here for their shots & the staff was excellent with them. They host a wellness clinic twice a month at all of their locations, we live out at Geist so we went to the Fox Rd. store. We have one dog that's a rescue & suffered severe abuse so he's not very trusting of strangers. Dr.Moore & her staff couldn't have been more patient & kind with him. They got him taken care of without him going into meltdown mode, like he has at other places. They also handled our other dog with great care, which wasn't easy, as he's huge ( 72 lbs.) and still a puppy. Very hyper & became uneasy , started growling when he saw everyone in a small space. They were great with him & we were done in no time. Plus, they have a big selection of pet food, toys, all supplies needed for the furry members of your family! Highly recommended!”

“I highly recommend that you try shopping at PetPeople. They are super friendly, helpful, cheerful, and attentive. They offer really good customer loyalty program so that you aren't paying more. Staff is intelligent and genuinely eager to assist you in a helpful not annoying way. They carry your order to your car if heavy (litter, cans of food, etc.). You can order/pay online and pull up in front, call them, and they load your order in the back of your car. I had a question about cat treats, and a guy who works there was super knowledgeable about which to get and why, in a way I would never have received in the BIG pet stores (can't even find employees in there).”

“Not really blown away by this location. Fish tanks are running with no fish. They have a 4,000 gallon tank going with only a 5-6 inch crayfish in side of it. That's it. And the fish selection is poor. They have dogs for sale had empty water bottles to drink from. We had to notify the employees who had nothing but attitude about it. It's sad. My brother and I used to love visiting these stores as a kid. This location at East Washington St is just awful.Up Date: A supervisor just called and talked it out with me and they are taking this very serious. I appreciate a business that takes this as serious as the public does. My review came from 2 Star to 4 Star based on our call!”
