Took my Range Rover here for a timing chain. Took a week longer than expected to be fixed; which I had a rental and complained so they loaned me a old BMW that broke down on me in the middle of the summer on Interstate 65. I ended up having to Uber off the interstate and get another rental. They paid for the rental, however, when I got my car back, the check engine light came on less than 2 miles down the road. Returned it, another rental. Got the car back about a day later, check engine light came back on, returned it and said that it needed to 'reset' and if it came on again, after a few days return. It eventually went off but never drove the same. Several months later started having issues again, went to another mechanic who stated it was the timing variable cam shaft. I called Spitzer and requested a detailed copy of my work they performed, they claimed they would email me but never did, called numerous times leaving messages. Decided to trade it in and later got a text from the dealership saying "you got out just in time, we had to replace the timing chain". Not sure what they fixed for $2600 but a total waste of time and money.

I had a repair to my Ford, the price was 25% lower than the dealer for the same service. The place is not well kept but good service

I called to ask if someone could take a look a my brakes and tell me if I need new ones, and they told me it would be $116 to have someone LOOK at them. Then when I tried to ask a follow up question, he hung up on me. When I called back, he stumbled over his words and tried to tell me it was an accident (even though I heard the receiver make contact with the holder as he hung up on me). There are plenty of more respectful and professional automotive repair shops in this area. I will be taking my business elsewhere.

So sad that John Spitzer has died. This company is under new ownership but kept the Spitzer name. I wish I would have known before taking my car in for brake pads. My brake pad sensor light was on and I was hearing scraping when I turned. Called in for the appointment and they pre-ordered pads and rotors. Brought the car in the next day. On the test drive the mechanic told me the scraping was from a broken mud flap due to hitting a pot hole. They still replaced the rotors rather than return them. This is not the old Spitzer that I remember.

I've taken my 09 BMW 328 xi numerous times and they've done an excellent job every single time! They've repaired my breaks, performed a tune up, and recently replaced a leaking head casket. Owner's and staff are very helpful and friendly not to mention the prices are more than reasonable for this kind of vehicle. I won't hesitate to continue to bring my car to Spitzer!
