I tried calling this location multiple times over a month before traveling to Indianapolis and was never able to reach an agent. I was going to explain my flight was landing at 10:38pm. When using the Hertz app I was able to change my pick up time to 11pm but was not able to add my flight information. I finally land and made my way to the counter at 11pm for them to tell me, and many others, they no longer had cars available. Walk ups without reservations were allowed that day leaving us with reservations without a car. I needed to leave Indianapolis at 8am the following day and now that becomes more of a hassle. This is disrespectful to customers and irresponsible.

Absolutely terrible experience with Thifty at RSW Airport in Ft Myers, FL. Car I reserved was not available. Told I could have (and pay extra for) the next class of car or sit around at the terminal, possibly for hours, until someone returned a car in the class I had reserved. Zero customer service. Asked to speak with manager, but they were no better than the desk clerk. No remorse or attempt to fix their failure to provide the service (car) they committed to in the reservation. Even tried to push me into taking an EV! Who would take an EV as a rental on vacation? Most hotels don't have EV chargers. Will not attempt to rent from any Thrifty/Dollar/Hertz after this experience.

I will never call for a little under a weverything was great. They upgraded me to at minivan because they didnt have the suv i reserved. When we got home. I noticed that I was charged a $125. I called them to find out what it was for. I had Allegedly signed up for insurance on the vehicle. I told the guy at the counter that we didn't need it and even had a short conversation with my wife about why we didn't need it. I signed the rental agreement electronically Thinking he put in that I declined it. At this point I'm thinking honest mistake. They put in a request to investigate the situation and that they would be in touch with in the next week. Two weeks ago bye and I don't hear anything I call again. This time they tell me the case has been reviewed and no refund will be issued because you sign the agreement. I asked to speak to a manager or supervisor and they called me back 3 hours later saying the same thing. No refund will be issued because You signed the agreement. I told them. I signed electronically and that I told the guy at the counter that I did not want it.Why would I have to look at the agreement again to make sure that he put in what I said. She apologized and continued saying and the agreement has been signed.I know where your phone will be and no brief on movie issue. I'm convinced that they should just increase their insurance rates $500 why not take advantage of peoples willingness to sign and assume they are getting what they just agreed to. Bottomline dont use thrifty and assume you will get what you agreed to.Craig

I’ve been waiting for 2 hours after I checked in for my rental I still haven’t received. As soon as we stepped in line we were informed that it’s up to a 2 hour wait to receive a vehicle after you check in, after you already reserved in advance. This have happened once before, but I thought maybe it’s just a one time thing. Well I was wrong, I wouldn’t recommend Thrifty to no one! Even if they are the cheapest

Check your receipt, charged for fuel even after filling up the vehicle. Nearly impossible to get a real person on the phone. Desk clerk was super nice, rental counter was simple, quick and to the point. Just disappointed in the incorrect fuel charge and arduous nature of contacting Thrifty for a refund. Initially they were going to force me to email PROOF. Check your receipt! Update: When spoke with an agent on the phone...his words were "I don't like your tone". Was refunded appropriately after I explained the situation and my feelings concerning the error in billing correctly and honestly

Rented a vehicle from Thrifty out of Las Vegas. Since traveling with family and an infant, I asked for an upgrade to a minivan. They did have one and charged me an extra $400 for the 4 day rental. We soon discovered that the back door hatch was making some odd noise when opened and closed. It was glass fragments from a previously shattered back window that remained within the hatch housing. Well, eventually the back hatch stopped working completely as the lock mechanism became jammed with the glass fragments. For the last two days we were unable to use the back hatch to load/unload luggage, etc. Thrifty would only offer us to drive to an out of the way location in an attempt to sway the vehicle. They refused to bring us a replacement and have also refused to refund the upgrade fee for this defective vehicle which they should never have rented to anyone! Last time I will do business with Thrifty...

If you are in need of a rental car from Indianapolis International Airport, please do not rent from Thrifty, Hertz, or Dollar.Over the weekend, I rented a car from Thrifty at the airport. I rented the car online and arrived on time to pick up the car. I met an unfriendly representative at the rental kiosk who didn’t bother to explain some of the bogus charges on the rental ticket. When I inquired about the charges and why the price differed from when I booked the car online, he told me that the car was expensive and that if I needed the car, I had to pay the money. I paid to avoid embarrassment and left the airport with the rental car.I returned the car the same day I rented it as planned. I met another Thrifty representative at the return area who told me to leave the keys in the car. I asked him if I had dropped the car at the correct place and if he would give me a receipt. He assured me everything was fine and I would get the receipt the next day. I never got the receipt like he said. Instead, I started getting daily charges of $100 on my card. After four days with daily charges of $100, I contacted customer care and was told that the ticket was still open. The representative told me she would email their people at the airport to close out my ticket. I was relieved and thanked her for her effort.Surprisingly, I was charged $100 on the 5th day. I got a call later that day from Thrifty that my rental car was overdue, and I needed to call them. How was the vehicle overdue when I returned the car the same day? I hurriedly drove to the airport to speak to a manager. The customer representatives at the rental kiosk looked up my rental record and stated that the ticket was still open. They contacted their manager, Michelle, to help. Michelle finally showed up after what lasted about an hour, with her instructing the representatives over their radio to tell me that there was no movement in the car since it was returned (whatever that means?). I must admit that she typed the record number in the system to see what was going on with the car, but her behavior was appalling, awful, and demeaning. Michelle told me she wouldn’t close the ticket, wouldn’t look for the car at that moment, and would keep charging me daily until she locates the vehicle. I asked her if she could go to their quick turnaround to search for the car, but she refused. She took my number and said she would call me if they found the vehicle.I left the airport, more worried than before. How can an SUV be missing from the airport? So, I called the airport authority requesting to see the videos from the cameras at the rental return area. I was patched across to an officer. He asked me to return to the airport, head to the rental kiosk, and demand for the car to be reported as stolen. I did as instructed.I got to the rental kiosk and called the airport police, who sent Officer Wright to help me. I showed him all the evidence I had, including the receipt of the gas bought from the Shell company at the airport and pictures with time stamps showing when the car was dropped. Officer Wright demanded to speak to the manager.Michelle finally showed up after several minutes. After more rudeness from her, her contacting their security officer, and the officer verifying from the airport security cameras that I had indeed dropped the car when I stated, things took a good turn. The cameras showed that someone picked up the vehicle from the return area and drove it to Thrifty quick turnaround the next morning. The cameras showed that someone drove the car out of the airport. Michelle finally agreed to close the ticket and issue me a refund for the daily $100 charges. No apologies given; rude!I think the most annoying part of the story is that Michelle refused for the car to be reported as stolen, stating that she was worried that another rental driver might be in the car and didn’t want the person to be pulled over. How does someone rent a car without the proper documentation? Shocking and annoying!!!

I rented a car from Thrifty at Indianapolis airport. I left my wallet in the vehicle at drop off when I went back to get it, it was found in the vehicle. It was returned to me at the Hertz Gold office, but when it was returned to me and I opened it I realized the person who returned it had gone through my wallet, moved items around and stole hundreds of dollars in cash. When brought to the attention of management I was told that is it not the responsibility of the rental company for left items. My issue is that the left item was returned but not returned as found. I wasn't even offered a credit to compensate.

Misquoted Price. Total Charges were over $300 more than Total Estimated Charges. Daily rate, taxes, Concession Fee Recovery and other fees were all understated on the estimate. Was already past airport security and boarding flight when I received the Receipt. Still no answer from a survey complaint or two other “Contact Us” emails requesting clarification of charges and it’s been almost four weeks now. Phone number will only support current renter issues. Booked Thrifty through Delta Sky Miles app, haven’t had the same issues with other car renters through Delta.

I was going to Florida for a quick weekend trip with my grandson. I found (what I thought) was a good deal on Expedia. I booked a midsize out of Orlando airport. When we arrived at the Thrifty checkout counter, I was greeted warmly. However, when I declined the additional insurance, the mood instantly changed. The counter person resorted to scare tactics and out right lies to get me to purchase the insurance. I'm 58 years old and have rented vehicles dozens of times. I carry good insurance and know full well that, even in Florida, my car insurance is valid. When I finally received my midsize vehicle (Nissan Rogue, I believe), it was nearly 11:00pm. We headed on to our hotel and when the vehicle approached any speed over 25mph, it began to shake pretty severely. I called Thrifty customer service from the hotel that night and held for over 15 minutes waiting for someone to answer. I gave up and tried the next morning. I was connected with someone who gave me instructions on how to return the car for replacement. She treated me with disdain and basically hung up on me. When I returned to the airport to exchange the vehicle, the Thrifty employee asked if I was returning the vehicle. Not knowing exactly how to answer due to the extenuating circumstances, I briefly told her my dilemma. She said - and I quote- "So you're NOT returning the vehicle". She walked away and muttered something under her breath. I was given a decent midsize Corolla for my exchange and we went on about our vacation. I WAS NEVER OFFERED ANY TYPE OF APOLOGY FOR THE INCONVENIENCE FROM ANY OF THE EMPLOYEES I DEALT WITH. I will NEVER rent from Thrifty/Dollar/Hertz EVER again. There are far too many other choices out there. And for the record, I received an email for a survey after we completed our trip. I basically said the same thing as in this review and, even though they said they'd reach out to me within 72 hours, I heard NOTHING. This is one of the worst examples of customer service I've ever experienced.

Every time we fly to Indianapolis, dealing with the rental car places is a disaster. Waiting well over an hour at a rental car pick up when you already have a reservation. It is ridiculous.

Booked Ford Edge Titanium or similar… received 23 Nissan Murano lower trim level. New car so not much to complain about. Staff was friendly and gave no issues checking in or dropping off the car. Good rates. Would rent again!

Great, clean rental car. Had some difficulty locating the car rental area. Some walking with luggage to get to the cars, which are all parked in the airport garage. Convenient in that you don't have to wait for transport and then line up for service. Cheerful service and very pleasant, cheerful return checking agent.

Worse car rental company out there! Had a reservation to be picked up at 10:15 PM...flight was delayed got in at 10:50...had to pick up luggage. Got to counter at 11:15. NOT a soul at the rental counter. Asked the Avis representative if they knew if anyway was at the counter and they said no, they close and leave exactly at 11!! Which was no where on the rental site! Then there is no way to get hold of anyone except some call center in India!! Will never ever rent through them again. AvIs came through and got us a rental. DO NOT USE THRIFTY

Terrible experience. Got a flat tire and did not have the proper tools to change my own flat tire within the vehicle. Found out that the lock nut on the rim was after market and specific to the company that applied it. Tow truck driver could not help us as nobody had the specific key to change the tire. The rental car could only be towed to the companies service facility and was told i had to pay for my own Uber/Lyft because i had not purchased some other special insurance that i knew nothing about. That tow driver could not tow the rental car that far due to his boss not giving him permission to do so and he had to drop us off at a Wal-Mart parking lot with the vehicle. After many attempts of trying to get this issue resolved with either another driver or the damn tool to change the tire myself some unprofessional CS rep repeatedly sent me texts stating that my roadside assistance request was cancelled at my request. I never requested that. I do admit that i was irate after the 10th phone call, who wouldn't be, but still no excuse for the level of help, or lack of help, that i received.
