Can’t say enough good things about Vans. I had squirrels nest and chew through my 4Runner wiring harness and the truck was not getting any power to the starter among other issues. It seems like the only option was to spend over $2500 on a new wiring harness from Toyota. Fortunately, I found Vans and they found and rebuilt the harness terminals that the squirrels chewed down to the base of the wires. The 4Runner runs great now thanks to Vans. Thank you!!

Bought a holley replacement for my 86 Ford f700. Worked good for about a year which wasn't that long considering its a bucket truck that I only use 2-3 times a year. Then the float started sticking. Have to tap the bowl before starting or won't get fuel. Now the choke is stiff where the cable won't release it

THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!While on a road trip in a vehicle with no air-conditioning during freak spring heat, me and friendo realized we weren't going to make it to our destination on time - at least not with our strategy of waiting out the heat of the day or having our energy sapped out of us by the heat. So we did what any reasonable person would do, and popped in a 150 USD Wally world window shaker.Unfortunately, despite the fact we had vaguely (extremely vaguely) planned to require a fair amount of electrical energy to run other appliances we had onboard like our chest freezer, we only had access to a 130amp parts store branded alternator at the time. We couldn't readily find pulleys, and sizing them was more complicated than we had time for. This is to say, despite our rush job efforts we quickly realized we weren't producing anywhere near the amount of power we needed to run the window shaker. Without it, we would be driving in unrelenting 90°F+ heat and weren't to make it to our destination in a timely manner. U-Haul would charge us late fees of unknowable amounts for missing the trailer dropoff date as they refuse to list them anywhere we could find. Even the papers we received when renting the trailer didn't declare them!In addition, we had only scheduled a set amount of time off work. This meant we had to find a solution to our lack of air conditioning, and fast.We had already prepared the vehicle with 2awg wire and a vaguely suitable inverter, but lacking proper batteries we relied exclusively on the output of our woefully undersized alternator, and it was our bottleneck. When attempting to run the window unit it was drawing heavily on the van's lead acid batteries intended only to start it. Knowing that was unsustainable, we sought to fix the problem with a larger alternator. So that morning we woke up and began calling. Calling anyone and everyone we could get ahold of in the area. Parts stores, racing outlets, hell even local mechanics just on the off chance they had anything kicking around in the back. We had a Ford 351w after all, a beloved engine with a thriving modding community; and we were in the vehicle racing capital of the US!At first we'd been hopeful, but as we exhausted our list of contacts we'd found on the internet; a dreadful feeling of hopelessness began to set in. Was it not possible to obtain what we desired locally? Quickly? Without the option to order anything from the internet, as it would delay the road trip further. Then, a miracle! We were pointed in the direction of Van's Electrical Systems. Within minutes they confirmed they had exactly what we desired on hand and available. With renewed hope we booked it into the city to obtain our coveted treasure. What we didn't expect was just how lucky we had been in finding this business. The treasure of air conditioning was vital to our success; and succeed we did. But air conditioning wasn't the only resource we had gained by visiting this establishment. Oh no, not in the slightest. They didn't just have the alternator, they had extremely informed and knowledgeable, friendly staff (Alex you're an O.G.). They didn't just sell us the alternator we desired, they crunched the numbers. They dyno tested, right in front of us! They even figured out and installed a more optimal overdrive pulley and belt configuration to maximize the output for our relatively low rotational speed engine.Best of all, this was all within a single day! We even got back on the road that day, basking in the sweet, sweet air conditioning; saving the road trip!If you're doing a vehicle conversion you'll notice a specific lack of apparently niche parts at the auto parts stores. Things that wouldn't be out of place and you're often frustrated at lack of local availability. This business fills the niche perfectly. Coupled with the employees drive and willingness to not just find, but TEST the parts you'll need to accomplish your goals; this store is a gem and I would recommend it to

The starter went out on my daughter's 1998 VW Beetle. This was the first year the Beetle was reintroduced and the starter that was put into this car was only used for a few months and then they switched to a different starter. So this starter is a bit rare and no one in Indiana had the correct one. Van's was recommended to me, so I stopped in on Thursday morning. They were friendly and knowledgeable. They said they could rebuild it and it would be a "couple of days". I told my daughter her car would likely be down through the weekend. I got the call around 3pm on Friday that it was done. That's 30 hours after dropping it off!! It was clean, rebuilt, new gear, new solenoid, new paint job. The price was $90.00 out the door which was way less than a new starter. I installed it last night and it works perfectly. My daughter has her car for the weekend, I spent way less than anticipated and everyone is happy. Van's you have earned all my future business. Thank you!
