“30th St animal hospital is without question, THE best veterinary hospital in Indianapolis. My dog is elderly, diabetic, went blind from cataracts, had cataract surgery and survived a horribly infected brown recluse spider bite. By all reasonable expectations my little Aussie (Sophie) should not be with us today. I would say 30th St animal hospital has gone above and beyond however; this is standard practice and they treat ALL pets as well as their families with the same dedication, skill and care. The work ethic, and synergy of their staff is something to behold. If you want the best care possible for your adopted family member, this is where you should take them. As long as I live in Indiana, I will be bringing my animals to 30th St. Animal Hospital.
Special mention to Dr. Barnes (retired and missed), TC your front desk anchor, ambassador and emotional support human ;-), Candice who is always level headed in any crisis as has a heart that barely fits in her chest, Nicole who provides strength and stability in any team, she will make sure the tech's and doctors will know what you prioritize and feel is most important. My final mention is Lizzy who has been a wonderful caregiver during some of the critical moments in keeping Sophie alive during her massive infection from the spider bite last year. Even today, Lizzy keeps an eye on the patient list and asks to see Sophie before we leave. In my last checkup, Lizzy asked to see Sophie before we left, even though she was on the team to treat Sophie.
In summary, if you want to take your pet to a clinic that will care for them as much as you do... this is the place to go. Don't hesitate, don't wait... this is your veterinary clinic, and they will welcome you into their family. I sincerely hope you share this review and write one of your own when you decide to put your pet's health in the most capable hands available.
I am editing this review to include Dr Smith. This gentlemen is a quiet and humble team member that may not get enough attention for his efforts. My face to face experiences started 2 years ago during a Halloween open house. This was time set aside for the staff behind the scenes to interact with the families and patients. Dr Smith was the tour guide of the operating rooms and generously answered any and all questions not just in medical terms but in plain speak anyone can digest. He was patient with everyone and gave me a 101 education about sterile protocols. We talked specifically about peristaltic pumps and how they are implemented in the operating room. My second interface with Dr. Smith is when Sophie had her struggle with the aforementioned spider bite. He worked the weekends during her struggle, and allowed me to spend time with her during off-hours while he was working. Dr Smith was engaged and monitoring Sophie's condition with gentle care and attentiveness. This man is humble, generous, patient, and motivated. His quiet demeanor and consistent hard work deserves notice and mention. He is a critical staple in surgery and diagnosis behind the scenes. I would recommend him with confidence to any pet owner who needs an empathetic surgeon with steady hands and a sharp mind.”

“My cat gets very anxious as the vet. They handled my Chewy with care, gave her a treat, and lots of pets. Dr. Jones and the vet tech (I didn’t catch her name) were kind and patient. I’m a bit protective of my cat and can come off as a little insane, but they were understanding and didn’t make me feel judged as some vets have. Not mention - they’re very inexpensive, especially for the level of care! I recommend this office.”

“I’m 67 yo and currently unable to walk well due to an unexpected medical situation and thus cannot control my 109 Lb yellow Lab. He’s stronger than me and so I couldn’t get him into the office for his monthly allergy shot. Freeland immediately offered to come to the car to get him and allowed me to pay easily too. The girls not only provided this service, but loved all over him while doing so. Not only is the medical service exceptional, but the care, concern, and customer service is extraordinary too. I happily drive 15 miles one way and it’s totally worth it.
