“My mother and I have refinished and reupholstered furniture for many years. Mom has two French Provincial chairs that are family favorites. We each reupholstered one of the two over forty years ago. It was time for a refresh.
For two years I checked out various completed customer pieces in Mike's business window before I went inside to discuss the chairs. He gave me a fair quote and he picked up the chairs and reupholstered them.
He definitely has both of us bested in the reupholstery realm. I have posted a picture of one of the chairs and a couple of close-up photos. A craftsman shows his stuff in the details of his or her work. The material for this chair is very heavy. That is a challenge. Take a look at the dart at the base of the arm. That eliminated any puckering and assured that the fabric around the arm is not under strain. Then look at the piping finish that is close to the nails. It is beautifully set. That feature wasn't there when the chair was new or reupholstered by us.
These chairs are more attractive than the day Mom bought them as a newlywed 75 years ago. Thank you M&R.”
