This is hands down the worst mechanic I have ever been to in my entire life. Do not give this place your business, your time, or your money because they will waste all of it. A simple clutch replacement took 3 months and they didn’t even fix the main issue I had to take my car to Indianapolis for them to fix the Lafayette shops mistakes. The manager Candi runs the place horribly, is completely unprofessional, instantly confrontational, and is overall a rude nasty person. How she has a job there blows my mind because based off my experience she’s utterly incompetent. The technicians Corey recommended a clutch replacement on my car since it was releasing high and I trusted their judgement. Went forward with the repairs and ended up needing a flywheel too. All fine until during the process the manager Candi failed to communicate about delays in the shipping of the parts. After all is said and done I get my vehicle back with an absurdly loud knock whenever the clutch is engaged. I bring it back and they replace more components like the throw out bearing and it still has an absurdly loud knock. It’s as if they didn’t even check or test drive the vehicle. So I bring it to them again saying the vehicles not fixed and what does the manager Candi do? Doesn’t take accountability for their mistake and blames the sound on another component in my car EVEN THOUGH IT NEVER MADE THAT SOUND BEFORE I TOOK IT THERE. So this causes me to have to go through AAMCO corporate to get another location to cover it under warranty due to the complete lack of trust I have in the technician Corey’s repairs and the manager Candi management style. After an additional month of repairs they finally diagnose and solve the problem which ended up being an incorrectly installed flywheel… So not only does AAMCO charge premium prices, they install parts incorrectly multiple times, don’t do post maintenance quality checks, don’t communicate proper deadlines, treat customers like they are a burden for just wanting honest good work in a timely manner, but also will not take accountability for their mistakes and will blame the customer. I cannot emphasize this enough this place is terrible and I have literally heard it from the corporate customer service representatives mouth that the owner does not care about customer feedback or experiences. If you value your sanity avoid this place and let them fail as a business because they do not deserve your business or anyone else’s.

DO NOT USE THIS LOCATION OR ANY OTHER AAMCO.
I have been nothing but nice to the shop manager. I have called every few days to get an update on the progress of my car. Candi picked my calls at first, giving my updates. We are in fifth week of my car being fixed for 3rd time by Aamco within the last 4 months. MAJOR WORK. TRANS REBUILD . $6000.
I lost the contact with them since 10/23. I called using a different number, nobody picked. I got a call back on that number few minutes later but as soon as the person on the other end heard my voice they hung up. VERY, VERY UNPROFESSIONAL.
I have been leaving voicemails for Candi and no call back. I have called their HQ in PA and they dont care about their customers either. These people do not understand that if it wasnt for their customers, they would be out of their jobs.
I am in sales and everyday I tell people about the horrible service these people provide. PLEASE, DO YOURSELF A FAVOR, TAKE YOUR CARS AND MONEY SOMEWHERE ELSE. DO NOT USE AAMCO TRANSMISSION SHOPS.

Do not I repeat do not use this Aamco , roughly 14k in repairs should have had me a great running truck right now this moment but no not the case actually quiet the contrary. Had to take my vehicle to another franchise shop to have my truck fixed correctly because after having my truck sit there for well over two months I get back into town to retrieve my truck after being on the road truck driving for months away and its still not fix but even worst then when I left it two months ago for them to address the leak that continues to flow out of my transmission that should of been fixed a year ago when I initially stopped into aamco. The only reason I even considered Aamco was for the nation wide warranty and so far thats a complete lie too. What they don’t tell you is that the Aamco franchise is owned by different individuals and as of right now my warranty isn’t being honored because the owners of this Aamco insist on not following through with the warranty simply because I got tired of the BS and took it to another franchise. My. Vehicle is currently at another aamco and because the owners are so petty they called that franchise as well as corporate and told them my warranty will not be honored unless I take it back to them, so not only am I not getting my truck fixed under warranty but I have to pay for repairs again out of pocket once again simple because I’m not dealing with them any longer. Currently looking for lawyer to handle this situation which most definitely will be far worst for them in the long run. I refuse to ever take my vehicle to them ever again. I give this franchise an F for lying and undermining the repairs that could be taking care of by a more capable Aamco franchise all because they don’t want to uphold the warrenty. Especially when they just let the entire crew who were great by the way go who had been communicating with me and the work on my pickup, too put these other people in place who have no idea what’s even going on with all the vehicles still sitting waiting on repairs, to then act like they’re doing the job that’s needed but actually in the long run they aren’t. As far as all the deception on the part of the People working in that franchise and the new owners shame on all of you. That picture shows why I took it back to them two months ago and like I said I come back over two months later and truck is still not running correctly. So like I said before now it’s at another Aamco and I’ll most likely be paying that outta pocket, to then have my lawyer deal with the aftermath. All I can say is the other Aamco will definitely have my Truck running properly. Hearing from the owner [franchisee] after getting a call from the service girl telling me I would hear from them today lies again it’s after 5pm and still haven’t heard anything from that particular person. Liars, dishonest and I’ll see you in court if this is not handled correctly, especially if i have to pay another repair bill. Good luck too all who disregard this review and have there truck brought there!

Avoid this place at all costs!
This shop had my vehicle for 6 weeks, with minimal to no communication about what was going on. I had to visit in-person 3 times, since they would not call, and attempts to reach the shop by phone were unsuccessful.
I was told by an employee that the facility is very poorly run, and that my vehicle should have only been there for 4 or 5 days, rather than 6 weeks. The poor mechanic that worked on my vehicle was also running the front desk by himself, since there was no support from the ownership following the departure of another employee.
I attempted contacting AAMCO corporate, as this is a franchise, but they didn't seem to care about the time, trouble, and frustration that I experienced. Honestly, I feel that the franchise should be pulled and the shop closed, based on my experience.
I will NEVER go to AAMCO again after this fiasco.

I took my car here to fix my fuel gauge. They said it was because I had an inexpensive fuel pump and encouraged me to get a more expensive one. After going to AutoZone using my warranty to get another fuel pump I had to pay an extra $70 on a more expensive fuel pump. They then said the expensive fuel pump was no use and it was the secondary fuel pump on my car that needed to be replaced. To replace it the said it would be $800 altogether with the replaced fuel pump and for them to fix the gauge. I told them I would go get my own fuel pump and the price went down to $330. The fuel pump at autozone was only $163. They kept my car over night and still couldn’t figure it out. They said to do any more further work it would be 500 and they were not sure their next process would even fix it. I lost trust in them because I spent extra money that was a waste because they were unsure and they did not care about their mistake and still charged me. So I left and took my car to automotive solutions they very nicely took care of me. I don’t meant to hurt the business but I do feel if there’s a mistake on their end and wasted money spent by a customer they should be more compassionate. Especially if they could not fix the car without charging more every time they were wrong about what the problem was.

Absolutely incredible people and experience. I took my vehicle in to get it checked out. Great time, great service, and great people. These people made me feel like they truly cared, and they didn't do skimpy work. I would definitely recommend. I will return to them in the future. I had a great experience with Joe. He is a very nice and genuine person. He was very detailed, and he knows exactly what he is doing.

Joe was absolutely incredible during the whole process of our suburban getting a new transmission.
We were on a family vacation visiting family when the transmission went out. We called our extended warranty company and they said AAMCO was one of two places nationwide that they guaranteed would work with the warranty company. Called AAMCO and Joe walked us through the process of what he needed left in the vehicle, called the tow truck for us knowing what the warranty would cover. Once our vehicle was at the shop he found a few other items that he said needed repaired (door lock actuator, rear main seal, valve cover gasket, ect) some of which we were aware of and some not. He was able to get all of the additional items covered by the warranty. Lots of parts were back ordered but he would call every few days with an update. Phenomenal communication skills and a $9,000 repair bill only cost us $700. Would send all of my vehicles there if we still lived in the area.

I was on a solo road trip. My car had a major issue and broke down while passing Lafayette, IN. I was a total stranger to the town -- and to this part of the country.
I rolled my car into Aamco's parking lot in the morning at no advance notice. They could have easily tossed me aside, but Joe and his team were excellent at getting my car back on the road by the end of the day. They were knowledgeable, honest, respectful, good, fast, and cheap.
They didn't just fixed my car, they saved me from a potential road trip nightmare. These are the kind of people you want fixing your car.
By the way, I went to automotive school. I used to fix cars. I never told them. They didn't try to oversell me things or take shortcuts while fixing my car.

Absolutely incredible. Joe was helpful and quick with his diagnostic check. He wasn't able to service my vehicle, but he also didn't charge me for the check. I'd trust them again with my vehicle.

We tried AAMCO since it was close to our new home. We've used them a few times since. They treat us like a member of the family making repairs and towing for us easy, quick & affordable. They always communicate before proceeding with any repairs. They explain every repair, if it can wait or needs immediate attention and why. Love this place.

My wipers broke down on a rainy day, 3 hours into a 5 hour drive. I called these guys up and they checked a few things, replaced my fuse, and I was on my way in 5 minutes. They didn't even bother charging me. 10/5 stars for this crew! It took me longer to write this comment!
