Car was fine. Clerk was the first rude person I've met since moving to Indiana. Made a production out of enforcing policies I've never encountered at Avis which led to me having no access to my cash until the hold on my debit card is released. If I had had the time to rent elsewhere I would have but I was on my way to catch a train and had to get on the road. This clerk managed to lose a customer over trying to collect some extra fees because he refused to let my daughter pay for my rental with her credit card.

Take photos of everything, the fuel before and after return, the dents on the car, everything possible.I got charged fuel service fees which ran upwards 150 dollars due to an incompetent employee sitting in Lafayette branch. He carelessly put 8/8 fuel when it was at empty. When complained, he said that it will automatically refund back in 48 hours. After 48 hours, when it did not, I called back and they said they can’t access the rental agreement after 48 hours.What kind of trickery is this!

Horrible customer service. First he was rude the whole time, as if he hates working there and hates customers who ask any questions. When my wife got the keys and starts the car, The car has change oil light on, and the check engine light was on too. Quickly the check engine light went away but the change oil light was still on. So she went back to ask the clerk about it and requested a different car, he refused the request and simply just “reset” the system so the change oil light wasn’t on anymore. When people’s lives are on the line and dependent on machine maintenance it isn’t something to take lightly and disregard. Then when I called him and started the conversation asking if he had just helped out my wife he immediately starts with an attitude. He claimed that since he is the manager he can do whatever he wants. Wow, lesson learned and We are never gonna use this service ever again.

They will charge you excessive unnecessarily. I dropped off my rental after refueling it from the gas station right next to their office. When I refueled, the pump nozzle clicked and stopped automatically meaning that the tank should be full. Then they charged me for missing gas in the tank at $9.99/gallon rate and also charged me $16.99 for refueling services. When the fuel meter shows over full and the pump nozzle clicks and stops automatically, I really don’t know how someone can find out if there is any empty space on the fuel tank anymore.

Awful experience. They made us loose our whole trip to Niagara Falls. When we got to the car rental to pick up the car on Friday, the place was closed EARLIER than the pick up time (6:00 pm). We called, and they told us that we could pick up the car on Saturday first time in the morning. Even though we had other plans we could work around that. However, when we got there on Saturday, they told us that they didn’t have inventory, so they would just reimburse our money. This didn’t work for us because we couldn’t get another car and lost our hotel reservation and other things purchased for the trip. It was absolutely disrespectful and the worst customer service ever. We are never booking a reservation with them again, if I could give them zero stars I would do that.

Stay away from AVIS. I called the location i was supposed to return the car to and asked if I could return it back to the same location i rented from. He said no problem as long as i had it back by the time i rented it from. I guess he didnt actually make the change in the system. I was there early stood around for 20 min while they checked out someone else which is fine. By the time they checked me in I was 15 minutes past the due date and told me thank you and my receipt would be emailed to me. Didn't tell me I would be charged another day rental plus a $15 late fee because they checked it in late. Customer service says they have no way to prove this happened. Over 15 minutes that was their fault cost me $98. Stay far away local agents can't do anything but take your credit card and hand you keys. Never again!!

2 times I've made reservations for an Suv.. Both times I've had to settle for a mini van.. Why give option to pick if they won't have the model I selected.. Was charged for entire reservation ,even though I returned the vehicle 1 day early..

This place sucks. I am on a work visa and currently have temporary license until my license is printed and mailed. I had a reservation to pickup the car at 5 PM (30 minutes before closing for most rental centers) as I have to fly early tomorrow from Chicago. They refused to validate the temporary license at the Avis center and said they cannot process it and give the car to us. We had to go to another car rental company where they scanned my temporary license and gave me a car, albeit at a much higher price. When other car rental companies are able to accept it, why can Avis not? The clerk at the desk was also not very friendly or accomodating to our situation, and refused to even consider the license (which was fully valid). I would never come back here again.

The worst costumer service. If 0 was available they would get it. The guy and the lady were both rude. Definitely not a place to recommend at all.

Rented 3 times at this location after reserving online or through app, and car was ready when I showed up. I was charged the same price that was quoted online at end of rental. Great experience with staff each time!

One of the worst customer service I ever received.Was given the worst vehicle despite other better available options. When asked about other vehicles, guy said, "It's this car or I'll show you where hertz and enterprise are".
