Electrify America Charging Station

Hours: Electrify America Charging Station offers convenient EV charging with four 350 kW connectors, although one was not operational during a visit. The station generally performs well, but charging speeds can be slower than other Electrify America stations, sometimes taking more than 30 minutes to go from 37% to 80%, compared to 20-25 minutes elsewhere. Despite this, the station was not crowded during visits, and there was usually no line, especially on a Saturday afternoon. It features a total of eight chargers, including three 150 kW CCS and one 50 kW CHAdeMO, with better rates available to Electrify America subscribers. The station is located at a Walmart, which provides the added convenience of shopping or using the restroom while charging. However, charging speeds can vary, especially when stations are throttled, with some chargers only delivering partial power, leading to longer wait times. As the only DC fast chargers between Indianapolis and Chicago, there is a need for more stations and better technician support. Overall, the charging station does its job effectively, offering reasonable prices and the benefit of nearby amenities, but some improvements in speed consistency and station availability would enhance the experience.
