Hard to reach the person to cancel your membership. Many times I cam in during stated hours and couldn't find anyone to cancel. Finally got it canceled.

old style gym- hubby loves it, has the weights he needs. Some things need repaired, could use a fresh makeover.... tanning bed is pointless. Good for true weight trainers/lifters. love 24/7 access... staff was always nice.... 18 month contract, locked in, costs more than most places... but we feel its worth it.... Quiet, good etiquette by most members, always open and easy to get and out w a good workout between!

Singed a contract in January of 2020 pre pandemic as they seemed to be an upstanding business at the time. Post pandemic the entirety of the staff seems to have cut & run, NOBODY has answered the phones in 8 months. I have left several messages & emails with them and have yet to hear back. I have an active claim with the BBB against this gym as they have not stopped billing me though I have sent multiple notices of cancellation. This business is a fraudulent front to get your bank account information & social security number. I HIGHLY recommend another 24 hour gym with regular staff and month to month contracts. This place is clearly run by thieves. Hopefully this comment will reach the owners.

As an older person, exercising at Southside Health and Fitness is and has been great: Lots of variety in weight and cardio equipment that makes many work-out routines possible. Going to Southside helps tendons, ligaments, and joints feel better for my age group. The place is super clean, the staff is helpful, and members are respectful; people are focused on exercising. Easy location, plenty of safe parking. The yearly price is a bargain for one's health and well-being.

The staff all seems friendly and it's very clean. I've been a member for a couple years. They have a great variety of equipment from which to chose and almost anybody could find something they like to do.

I have never received a copy of my contract. I was charged fees for my card declining the charges. However, my bank account does not reflect any declined payments. I asking their new director for documentation so that I can take this to my bank. In addition, I was over charged in February, credited, and then charged twice in March. I called about the issues and was never given a return call with a resolution or explanation. Desk employee told me that the owner, “wasn't good at billing and keeping up with things.†So, they now had a person taking over these things. I contacted her. She has been rude, condescending and even refused to apologize for their mistakes. She did offer to credit my account, but that came with her being rude. I only asked for proof of the declined payments, and if she had been nicer, that would've went a long way. The staff (besides the owner) have always been nice in the past. It's unfortunate that this person will be who customers deal with when they have issues. I will defiantly be going elsewhere once my contract is up.

I've been a member here for over a year and this is not my first gym membership. In all honesty there is no other gym in town to compare Southside with. Snap and anytime don't have nearly as much equipment and the y isn't 24/7. And after reading reviews about people having trouble with billing. The one time I had trouble with my card it expired and I went into the gym in person and took care of it. I've been overdrawn once and it was fixed before it even hit the account.

My husband and I have been members of Southside for a couple of years now. We have had a good experience while at Southside Health & Fitness. The staff at this gym let you do your workout and don't incessantly talk to you or anything like that. Any billing issues that we have had have been taken care of promptly and we have been informed when mistakes have been made. The only downside to this gym is the fact that there are at least a few broken machines (especially cardio machines) on a day to day basis, and sometimes it takes a while to get them fixed. Regardless of the one downside, I would still recommend this gym as a really good option for a gym in Lafayette. If you are more interested in classes than in just going to work out, there might be better options for you in town, but Southside is a good choice for those of us that aren't interested in the classes but want to get a good workout.

SSHF is accessible 24/7! They have an upper deck cardio station, and a full floor of weightlifting equipment to help their customers with their fitness journey! Great staff and services, I would fully recommend.
