UPDATE FROM AUG 2023. *1/9/24*
My 30 year old daughter suffered an ischemic stroke on 8/8/23. We were sent to Neuro ICU at Lutheran, 2 1/2 hours from home. I didn’t budge for 13 days.. when we knew she would survive. I willed my entire soul into hers during that 2 week period. Willed it to will her soul as we are connected. Everything I had. Sleep, sustenance, an abundance of love. I willed her to feel my unconditional devotion & hoped she could absorb the power of that & the understanding of how I couldn’t live without her & she wasn’t allowed to ever leave me. I’m not a person of religion but I am a spiritual person. I have great faith. In all of my begging rants? Most of all, I kept repeating to her? The universe? Myself?.. You didn’t deserve THIS. You DID NOT deserve THIS.. This egregious injustice? Stay with me, my baby.. YOU DID NOT DESERVE THIS!!
Does anyone know if I was right about the woman’s name? I would love to thank her without bawling. Sincerely, from the bottom of my heart, without wide, anxious eyes. Without resembling a feral animal stuck in a trap that it cannot get out of.. and I would like her to know how my daughter, Tate, is now. Yesterday was 5 months and she (CVS) was on my mind.. She rubbed my hands and told me SHE KNEW everything would be okay. Such a simple thing to say & yet.. Nobody said it. Nobody but her. I clung to every single word. You see, I AM the fixer. I am the matriarch. I hold everyone & everything together. Tate has a twin sister & little sister. They were shattered. I couldn’t continue to fall apart. THIS WOMAN? A perfect stranger? She allowed me time to break. She gave me solace in very little words, that gave me permission to lay my head on the counter and sob. She showed me the definition of what I’ve ALWAYS said to my children…. With grace, mercy & a whole lot of Moxy? ALL things are possible. I carry Moxy like a bad habit. But, she gave me the grace & mercy I so desperately begged for. Yes, all of this happened in 10 minutes. But please understand… It’s exactly what I needed to lift my head, straighten my crown & remember Her Royal Subjects: The 3 Princesses.
Tate spent a total of 29 days inpatient at Shirley Ryan Rehab in Chicago. She relearned to walk & talk. Her dominant side was taken. She has spent 5 months snatching it back. Piece by piece. Her speech is understandable. She has poor vision BUT she can see. For the first week? She could not. I’ll add photos, if I can.
Will somebody… Anybody please let me know if I got this woman’s name right? I owe her a massive debt of gratitude. Please & Thank you.

“Friendly staff, rarely a wait at self checkout, and a good selection and weekly specials. But their water refill machine is trash. Breaks down on the regular, was down for 2 weeks recently. Finally got it fixed and it stopped working while I was using it. Water comes out hot for first 15 seconds and smells weird til cool water finally comes out..come on Kroger, GET A NEW WATER MACHINE. I know you can make it happen. You're losing business because of this.”

“First off I am a retired employee of Parkview Randallia so I have a bias for Parkview but that aside I am greatly appreciative for them having my medications in stock every month when I need them. They are always pleasant on the phone when I call to get refills and pick up my medications. The only thing that could make them better is if they had a drive thru for prescription pick ups as I am disable and its very painful and unsafe due to fall risks for me to walk. Even though they dont have a drive through I will still go there because they have always had my medications except one time when I forst started a certain med. They didnt have it in stock but they got it pretty fast for me and have always had it since. I am proud to say I was a Parkview employee with their dedication to patient care and how compassionately they treat people. Drive thru pick up is desperately needed here for seniors and people with disabilities. Its too far for them to have to walk and I have to go pick up meds every month”

“My antibiotic prescription was not available at my location and I was getting the run around even though I found it at another location.
Steve the pharmacist came on the phone and totally helped with my situation. My sister was seriously ill and already missed several doses. He said he could take care of transferring it for me. He showed
compassion and went above and beyond. I know all these pharmacies are understaffed.

“We live locally and use this CVS frequently for family prescriptions. I have had repeated good customer service experiences with the pharmacy staff. Today, a wonderful lady with blue green hair made extra effort to help find a sticker for my daughter.It was a little thing and there was a line but it meant a lot. My daughter is sick with a chronic illness and understood why we were going to the pharmacy ?. God bless her for brightening my little girl's day”

“I love Walgreens. They do have good AD deals. I also am taking advantage of their curbside pickup. Their website is really easy to order off of, they usually have my order ready for me to pick up within 15' and I can do this at any Walgreens location! Stuff odd always super friendly when they bring it out to my car. I've never had an order wrong and I can notify them when I'm on my way through the app as well.”

“I had the most RIDICULOUS issues with Doordash tonight after placing an order through the Walgreens app for delivery. The manager of this Walgreens, Christian, helped me for more than an hour to get my issues resolved and made sure I got my order. “I usually avoid Costco on Saturday but today I needed some extra supplies for a wedding reception so I didn't have a choice.It was crazy crowded but I was impressed with how cheerful the employees were. My cashier was working very fast but still managed to keep up a pleasant conversation. At each register an employees unloading carts and another employee was loading the carts after the cashiers finished scanning each item.This allowed the checkout lines to move very quickly. Every employee I saw today had a smile and pleasant greeting.”
