Was coming here for Donna, who was absolutely fantastic year after year. Now with new ownership this business has been destroyed. Waited over a month for taxes to be filed and never were. No updates. No communication. Nothing. Just one excuse after another as to why they haven’t touched them. Finally had to retrieve them and take them elsewhere. Would no longer recommend to anyone. We miss Donna!

Just Horrible! Awful people to deal with now and they dont know what they are doing and screwed up our taxes and several others. They need to be investigated and shut down.

I have gone to Bookworks for about 15 years and Donna was amazing and always got the taxes done in about 2 weeks. Now with these new owners that took over last year. It is ridiculous. They are telling me it would be 45 DAYS before they would file them. I dropped them off on 3/2/2022. When I dropped them off they did not say anything about how long it would take or what I should anticipate of how long it would be or if they were running behind. So on 3/21/22 and asked for a status and they indicated that they would be done by the end of the week. Which would be great since I was leaving on vacation and would love to have them filled prior to us leaving. We did not get a call that they were done so we left for vacation. On 3/28/22 I call again from Florida and they indicated that they have not even looked at them yet and it would be 2 more weeks at least. So I asked if they would be done prior to the deadline of 4/18/22 and he indicated that he could not guarantee they would be done by the deadline. So you take 45 days to complete a clients tax return? That is so excessive. I never heard of a place taking that long to do taxes. So if I owe taxes I would be paying interest on those taxes. His excuse is that they have hundreds of returns. Well as a business owner you should be communicating that you are behind and give your customers the option to take them else where, or hire someone to help with the back log. Our taxes were not very difficult so I knew it would not take very long to complete ours. I told them that I would pick up the paperwork and complete the taxes myself and of course I get an attitude, like I did something wrong. I just completed them using Turbo tax which I completed in an hour. Never again will I go back to this place. If I need someone to do my taxes it will not be this place. I think they are way over there head and don't know how to communicate with their customers and be truthful. So bottom line. If you are in a rush to get your taxes done, GO SOMEWHERE ELSE.

I've been coming here to do my returns every year since 2009. In 2021, they changed owners and the service dropped tremendously. In 2021, there were issues with timeliness and communication. We were given the reasoning "workers were out with COVID-19" Understandable.Now that it's 2022 and the issues have not been corrected, we are pulling our paperwork. On 3/12/22, we were given a 2 week time frame to expect our taxes to be completed. When that time was over and I called for an update, we were told to wait 2 more weeks. It is now 4/13/22. Tax day is 4/14/22.I was informed during my 2nd call that we would be put on extension and it could take between 2 weeks and the entirety of the 6 month IRS extension time to complete our returns. And was given the reason "We are down a worker with COVID" Again? I don't buy it. Not when a phone call or email could have communicated it beforehand.We are pulling our paperwork and not coming back.

After being long time customers, we too have retrieved our tax documents as they cannot complete them by the April 18 deadline. We continued there after Donna sold the business to them. Donna was still involved last tax season but not now. It shows! At no time were we informed that they would have to file an extension. Communication and lack ofprofessionalism by the man who answers the phone was our last straw. We drove the 3 hours to pick up our untouched taxes. Missing Donna! We will never use them again.

I’ve been going to Bookworks since starting my first job, now that it’s been sold…just don’t go. Not even close to the same, and no customer service anymore.I thought I’d give them a try, but I left 3 voicemails never got a call back. Once I finally got ahold of them I pulled my records and now I am going elsewhere.

My wife used them for years and when we got married we continued to use them. Last year they changed owners. The worst experience with a business ever. We dropped the paperwork off around early to mid March. After a few weeks we asked what the hold up was and nothing. When the deadline was a week away we again and if they answered, they said they were still working on them. We got our return around July. Needless to say we are not going back anytime soon.

Never even filed my extension. Did not care about me at all. Had to pick up taxes and look for a new account. I miss Donna!!!

After the business sold, we waited and dealt twitch the new owners and were very patient. We were given several deadlines as to when our personal and business taxes would be completed. We continued to have to put off all of our deadlines because we needed them completed to pursue certain things. Our payroll was often last minute they failed to file our 941’s and cost us lots of penalties. the communication was horrible and every time we reached out to them, they swore they were literally working on them as we speak and would be completed that day. For 2 weeks they did that. And once we paid them to finally file it it took almost a week to file it! (4 months after original promised date) We fired them and they refused to give us our 941 and other schedules so we had to pay our new accountants to redo what they continued to mess up and leave incomplete.

We have gone to bookworks for 15 years this will absolutely be our last! I did thank them for making me feel stupid and they laughed the previous owner was great it’s a shame

After years of using Bookworks this will be our last year. I dropped off our taxes March 15th. I’ve called every few weeks since then and our taxes haven’t even been looked at yet. I called last week asking to speak to the person in charge so I can get a timeline as to when they would be done and never received a phone call back. It’s been months and now it’s tax day and our taxes are still sitting there. The secretary is absolutely wonderful and has been very helpful, but it’s so unprofessional to me to never even get a phone call explaining why it’s taking so long.Update: Now it’s June and I’ve called several times again and no response.

We used Bookworks South for years. We were going to try the new owner this year. The customer service now is non-existent. I called multiple times over a two week period and left multiple messages and never once was I able to speak to the Accountant. I had two questions that were never addressed due to the lack of communication. I finally picked up our paperwork and took it to a different business. It's sad. I really liked the convenience and the previous owner was very knowledgeable and personable.

We was lied for 4 days in a row that our taxes was being worked on and that they would call us that day, no calls ever came and we are still waiting for our taxes that they have had for over a month.. We have been with Bookworks for years but under this new ownership this will be our last year.. Very sad as the previous owner was very good...
