it seems the entire mgmt structure of UHAUL is guys that used to rent trucks. Don't think they have mgmt training at all. They seem to have bad communication skills too.Don't think they truly understand what customer service should mean.I am going back to Penske. They have newer trucks, better rates, and customer service.

Naomi Hensley was the employee and her supposed boyfriend who "runs" the store. Both acted unprofessional. They have a video going viral of them talking down on a black family. Calling them "erotic" and giving customers the middle finger. All caught on camera. All the customer wanted was a return on an item she didn't use. They need to be fired immediately and if the company needs proof just look up the video on Facebook.

Now I understand why U-Haul has such a poor rating. The customer service is awful. I stood waiting while 3 employees basically ignored me. 1 was on the phone making a reservation and chatting to the customer about a lot of things other than renting a truck. The other 2 we're trying to do inventory and never looked up to even acknowledge my presence. Finally I said something to the 2 that we're doing inventory and they acted surprised that I would interrupt them by asking to be taken care of. Personally I think the customers come before inventory. Do your inventory when you don't have people waiting for service

They are very rude no customer service at all I got like 3 text say we got ur uhaul up and ready to go when I go there it wasnt no where ready old girl was a hit rude was as if she didnt no anything I'm like my windshield was all i ice i had to clean it but it was ready for me to pick up an the truck bed door was frozen shut never again I would go threw another uhaul not this one not organized at all two rude asf like your supposed to have the items when u get there to pay for the truck rental then have to clean it off urself bring your own snow/window cleaner because they wont that's for sure anni was going from Michigan to ohio wasnt around town no 19 bucks paid 3 something jus no customer service no timely manner or order with in this company

This location is running scams!!! If I could give it zero stars I would! I rented a trailer and was called by an employee stating that there were holes in the bottom (this was a very old trailer from Texas). First of all nobody even opened the trailer to inspect it when they hooked it to my car, nor did they inspect it when removed and returned . In fact there were 3 additional trucks and trailers waiting to be turned in when we turned ours in. Secondly, we only moved a mattress and box springs, not anything that could cause a hole. Also, I rented blankets just in case. And finally I feel like because I purchased the additional insurance and because I was forthcoming about never renting a trailer and I'm female that I maybe a person that they thought would be easy to target. I'm so disappointed in uhaul, and especially the Waverly rd employees. If I was expected to sign off on any prior damage (which I didn't nor did they state I needed to look or show me anything) I would have, but I only backed in, nobody even opened the trailer. In fact, they never said anything when I dropped it off they just said ok, took it, and called later. I'm not even sure they are looking at the same trailer we drove because it was a bed in the back. Also my husband, who is a detective who actually specializes in property crimes drove and used the trailer. He too feels like this could be a scam on uhauls behalf because I purchased the unnecessary insurance, wasn't knowledge in trailers, and am female. I would like a manager to call me and I will be at uhaul to inspect the damage with a Lansing police officer and detective tomorrow when a manager is available if this cannot be dealt with over the phone. I have never had an issue with this company before and do not appreciate the blatant manipulation that is being done due to knowledge and gender. Had an employee inspected the trailer before with me or after as we turned it in and asked or shown any damage I would feel better. But no mattress will cause a hole in a trailer and no inspection was done. I feel like they were waiting for someone to blame damage on if there was actually any damage. And I am not someone that will allow anyone to take advantage of me or mistreat me in any way.

We reserved a truck and appliance dolly in advance for our move. Upon arrival, the appliance dolly was not available. My husband was told that a reservation does not guarantee it will be available. If that's the case, it would be good to know so it can be secured from somewhere that guarantees their reservations. Instead of offering an apology, the employee was a smart Alec, told my husband it was no big deal & we'd be able to move the appliance ourselves w/ assistance from others. Actually, IT WAS A BIG DEAL....that's why we reserved the dolly. Thankfully, Home Depot across the street had one available that day. The final U-Haul bill still included a charge for the dolly they did not have available for us. We were also incorrectly charged for fuel usage. Truck was driven a total of 15 miles and gas used was replenished from the gas station approximately 1/2 mile from rental location before we returned it. Despite this, we were charged for 20 miles worth of gas. My husband had to waste his time calling to have these two erroneous charges removed. Supposedly, it will be refunded in 3-5 days. Moving is stressful enough. Rental trucks & appliance dollies are available many other places; I recommend going elsewhere and saving yourself additional stress & from the bad attitude of the employees here. Giving 1-star because they did, indeed, have the actual truck (which, I guess, even that can't be guaranteed). I'd rather give a good review of helpful places. Can't do that here.

This place is a terrible place to rent a truck from... If you're stuck and you have to do it make sure you walk around the truck and check every single side. TAKE THE TIME TO TAKE PICTURES!! They completely lied about damage to the truck and charged me over $80. Please please please do yourself a favor and rent from somebody else.... anybody else!!

Very helpful staff. Good prices. I stop in frequently for boxes and supplies for our long distance move. They also have business cards of people to help you pack. Save your receipts for the boxes and they may be bought back. I am now renting an outside storage to get the boxes out of my garage. They had a bogo the day I went in to rent space. Always check to see if they have a special. My daughter rented here two years ago. We moved her (and the boxes) to the Detroit area with one of their U-Haul trucks. We drove, unpacked, and dropped the truck off near her new apartment. Not a bad experience at all. Driving: 1.75 hours Loading/Unloading: 7 hours
