Great team at Gerber Collision and Glass! Marcie was so helpful and worked with my scheduke as well as helping me get into a rental. She was spot on with keeping me up to date while my vehicle was being repaired and so friendly. I would reccomend the Merrilville Gerber Collision & Glass as they do customer service right! I can say many things. None of them good. Horrible Quality. They painted over paint protection film, the car had dirt in the paint, the alignment of the rear bumper is still off, the clear coat is peeling off the rear bumper after they fixed the side paint issues, there is over spray inside the trunk on the plastic pieces, there was over spray on the other side, Missing clips and covers, they riveted the gas door on crooked and now it scratches the paint while it opens and closes, they didn’t reconnect the tail lights.. We were supposed to take the car back to them for a rear bumper repair but it’s not even worth the headache to have something else damaged from them. Extremely poor customer service. Extremely poor attention to detail. If you like your vehicle. Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else.

John Kornacki spoke with my father and was VERY unprofessional. My husband is a union mechanic and would never speak to his potential customers in such a manner. Highly recommend going elsewhere for your automotive needs.

This Merrillville location was a nightmare to deal with. My estimated date of completion changed multiple 4 to 5 times . Each time it was changed via text with vague responses that are computer generated. The estimator at the facility was very unprofessional and always blamed the times we live for the lack of access to parts or outside vendors they are waiting on.They kept my car for over two months. The initial quote estimated hours of work was 56 hours and it took them over two months! The work was done and the day we pick the car up it was so dirty and dusty on the inside it had to be detailed professionally. To add insult to injury that day we were rushed while inspecting our car and handed paperwork outside. BTW we came one hour prior to closing so they had time. Horrible with communicating their process of stages to repair your vehicle......they send automated texts but when you call to speak to them they inform you how busy every shop is & how backed up they are......that should be told to a customer before receiving a vehicle so the customer/insurance company can decide whether to give them the business. they did a great job repairing my vehicle, however, they didn't recharge my AC. i went to the dealership so they could look at it because I didn't know if there was a leak or something because I know it shouldn't be low already and they said it needed to be recharged. I had them go ahead and do it because wait times have been ridiculous lately. I then reached out to Gerber and they weren't willing to reimburse me anything for the recharge even though they should have made sure it was completed.Service: Body & Trim

Friendly staff and good service. However, I had to wait a month to get scheduled in and it took a little longer do to a lag in parts (I don't them for that). So overall a nice experience. Thank you Gerber.

I went to this location to get the rear window of my truck replaced. I was asked to fill out some paper work, then the receptionist said they would get back with me. A week later and no response. I ended up going to the dealer to get it replaced. Try glass America. Gerber has another company actually do the work

The clear coat was peeling off the hood of my car. I had saved the warranty papers from 2010. I talked to Ed and Gerber honored the warranty. Ed made sure that my paint job was done correctly this time. The paint job looks beautiful. Thank you Gerber Collision.Service: Painting

Overall, the paint is ok. Just not happy with some of the other stuff. My wife's vehicle was repainted almost in its entirety. Brought it in to have a two or three spots addresses after the paint, one spot being on hood. Technician burned the paint with the buffer, and we had to bring the car back so they could take two days to repair the damage they caused. Also, now there are "rock chips" on the front of the car that weren't there in the first place, or I'd have included them in the list of things to address. I suspect it is an errantd buffer strike. Use a rental car provided by them for two days while they addressed their mistake, as well as buffer strike on a chromed window piece. Pick up the car only to be told AGAIN I'll have to drop it off because the chromed piece needs to be replaced That piece could have been ordered weeks beforehand. Still have the "rock chips" aka buffer strike on the front of the vehicle (rocks dont leave 5 marks in a line at regular intervals). Also, last time picking the car up, interior smelled bad and some tech left his greasy fingerprints on the drivers visor. Still have to take it back for half a day to get the piece replaced. So it's been more of a headache than I would have liked, and I'm still going to have chipped paint at the end of this.Service: Painting
