Absolutely MADE our night 15/10!!!
After Sally’s was so rude to us we decided to try again here and a purple/blueish haired lady named Jackie I believe just swept in and saved the day!!
She was not only professional and sweet but she even helped cheer my partner up! 15/10 experience here and we’ll definitely be back to this location! Store is clean and team is ready and willing to help guide your shopping experience and ensure you are satisfied! Love them!

Dear Ulta Beauty Team, I recently had to cancel two salon appointments—one scheduled for July 26 and another for July 30—at the Merrillville Ulta location due to medical reasons. Today, I received a call from a stylist named Ash R (I believe she was the one scheduled for my services), who informed me that because of these cancellations, she would no longer accept future bookings from me. She also canceled my upcoming appointment for August 9 and stated that if I still wanted services, I would need to walk in and wait to see if I could be accommodated. I find this response extremely disappointing and would like to understand where in Ulta’s policies or standard operating procedures it states that a customer can be denied future appointments due to cancellations—especially when those cancellations are for legitimate medical reasons. As a loyal Ulta customer, I expected more understanding and professionalism. Additionally, the fact that no one answers the phone at the store only adds to the frustration. If calls are not returned or answered, what is the purpose of providing a contact number? Given this experience, I am seriously reconsidering my decision to continue using both the salon and retail services at Ulta.

I’ve been shopping this location for years and today I was treated horribly by a “management staff member”. As a disabled woman I expect to be treated with respect when I shop. The manager practically refused my exchange and demanded I pay more for the same product and had a horrible attitude. I will not shop here anymore!

I’m a frugal person by nature, but when it comes to haircuts and color, I’ve learned the hard way that you get what you pay for. Valentina did an OUTSTANDING job restoring my teen daughter’s naturally blonde hair after a nightmare experience with dark purple Splat hair color. It’s literally clothing dye and nearly impossible to get out. Another salon only managed to cover it with a dark brown, but as the color faded and her blonde roots grew in, it looked bizarre. Valentina consulted with Jacqui (who is fabulous and I will write another review for her) and my daughter’s faded, half purple and half blonde hair looked intentional after the first visit lol. After the next visit, the remaining purple/pink was barely noticeable. All the salon staff seem to work well together and really enjoy what they do.

I ALWAYS prefer this location over Highland. I called before I came in to ask if they had enough girls to help pick whole face products. They have the BEST Chanel girls, ALWAYS willing to help and are so good at color matching. Today I met EBONY! Ladies & gentlemen, TRUST me when I tell you that you need Ebony in your life! I always come in with my daughters and the little ones can be a lot. Ebony was patient, kind, helpful and humble. My girls love Dior Lip products. I still don't know who is running this store because they all work together. They NEVER rush you or push products on their customers. This team feels like big sisters, helping find what I want and didn't know that i wanted until they put on my face! I recommend everyone to try this location. We LOVE it!
