Waited to long to get help at jewelry department. We was the first ones waiting for help as other customers approach the area for help we noticed the worker went up to the other 2 couples and made us
wait longer and after that long wait we found out the good they had was fake good she has to show us were the real good chains were located

Oh JCPenney is high on things like high end perfume I would rather order from
Walmart and wait the 3 to 10
Days but they do have Amazing sales on things like shampoo and clothing all of the time just you have to catch them right or shop clearance if a sale is not happening, wonderful staff sometimes they are under 18 but still very knowledgeable, this is a great store for shampoo if you care what you put on your body bc the Paul Mitchell goes on sale often for cheaper then almost anywhere I have seen the biggest bottles for 20 bucks and gift sets as low as 14 dollars!

I would like to thank Cristal (sp?) in Customer Service at the University Park Mall JC Penney store. We made purchases in the men's department and had a coupon that could either be $15 or 30% off. When being checked out, the sales clerk used the $15 on a purchase with a total of over $600. I said that I think we'd prefer to use the 30% off. She didn't make any changes, the clerk just said that we'd have to get a refund and re-purchase. We also shared that we thought the clerk failed to ring something up and she said she did. The experience was not good and the clerk was very blaise about the entire experience. We left and decided that we really should look at this because we could have a significant discount. So, we went to Cristal in customer service. She was AMAZING! She clearly explained what our options were and she was very happy to help us out and return items to see what our savings should have been. Cristal was very kind, did not make us feel like a nuisance once. This was also during the busy holiday shopping season. Even as more customers lined up waiting in customer service, she did not get frustrated or rude. I was so blown away by how kind she was in this (admittedly frustrating) situation. As an HR Director, I wanted to share how valuable of a team member I think that you have in Cristal - she deserves to be honored for her customer service! Sincerely thank you, Cristal, for making a stressful shopping experience end in such a positive way. The power of kindness should never be overlooked! Thank you!

I'm gonna go with a 1-star. The Return desk is an awful experience, as noted in other reviews. Maybe it depends on who you get? Maybe it's not always like this. One bad experience is enough to ruin it for me though. Enough that I want to leave a review. I don't recognize this platform as a good place to put further detail, but I did write up a nastygram for corporate to investigate. JCPenney just isn't winning over customers like they used to. Buyer beware

"Joan" at the order pick up desk should not be allowed to work with the public. She used to be very nice and friendly. I will not be ordering/shopping at JCP any longer until they get a decent person to replace her. Once was bad enough but, two visits with the same rotten attitude is uncalled for. No wonder why Amazon is so popular...I am done shopping with local stores w/o nice employee's.

Just wanna give a BIG shout out to one of the mangers LESLIE for helping my mother & myself out last week with an outdated Return. She was wonderful & understood that sometimes things happen when buying school clothes & you don't know they don't fit your Autistic child until it's too late. She graciously helped us, when others didn't. We appreciate her & what she does for the store. The return window was closed but the clothes were brand new & she allowed us the return. I thank you for this so much bc my son is Autistic & clothes are an issue for him. Thank you so much Leslie!

Bought a watch here two weeks ago and the buttons stopped working. Waited in line for the returns section for 10 minutes to be told that I had to take it to the jewelry department where they could look it up. 1st lady in jewelry was nice enough and tried to help me out but they had to request someone with more experience come help them. The older lady who came then told me she can't return it because I didn't have the receipt or the original box (for a $30 watch I bought two weeks ago). Do they truly expect customers to keep all the packaging and receipts for every purchase they make on the off chance that it will stop working in less than a month? After being made feeling like I did something wrong, they did manage to process a refund (which they all of a sudden were able to do without the receipt or the packaging) but I'm NEVER returning to JC Penny again. She even had the audacity to give me an additional warning that I was "lucky" that the purchase was recent, otherwise they wouldn't have been able to help. No wonder these big box stores keep going under.
