A special thanks to Manseil for helping us with a situation they didn't have a reason to deal with. We had purchased the part from another company, and our mechanic had lost the hose that connected to the slave cylinder. He had one and gave it to us since they didn't need it, and it solved our problem.

Do your research before buying and save the frustration. I needed to replace the Sachs clutch assembly in my Audi that only had 12k miles on it because the crappy DMF design doesn't last. I ordered an ECS single mass kit and it got pushed out to mid August for shipping. Upon recommendation of ECS sales, the South Bend stage 2 daily was the way to go. I specifically asked about the DMF being upgraded and was told it was the South Bend upgraded version. Once the clutch kit arrived, I inspected it and to my surprise, it was the exact same Sachs flywheel, number for number, that I just removed. So it's really not a Stage 2 clutch in terms of the DMF. That said, I don't have deep enough pockets to step to the $2800 single mass kit, which in itself makes no sense. How would something that has less parts be more expensive? Good thing South Bend isn't the only clutch maker out there.

Called and got connect with sales(went straight to voicemail). Left a message and nobody got back with me. Called back a few days later for a second time and asked if anybody was available at the moment to answer some questions. Was transferred and went straight to voicemail. Sales called me back within a min and had a rude experience with him. Asked him to email me with a quote for just the clutch disk. He took my email, hung up and never got a email. Don’t waste your time with them.

I’ve now gone through two South Bend Clutch hydraulic assemblies, and unfortunately, both failed much sooner than expected. The first one was driven for roughly about 4000 miles before showing signs of failure. I decided to give the brand a second chance, thinking maybe the first was just a one-off defect. However, the second unit didn’t last much longer — it broke after just about 3,000 miles.
For a product that’s marketed as a high-performance, durable solution, especially for upgraded clutch systems, this is extremely disappointing. I followed proper installation procedures both times and was not abusing the vehicle. These kinds of failures suggest either a recurring quality control issue or that the components simply aren’t built to withstand the rigors they claim to support.
Given the price and the hassle of having replacing parts twice in such a short period, I can’t recommend South Bend’s hydraulic systems. If you're considering them, especially for daily driving or moderate performance use, you might want to explore more reliable alternatives.

$$ THIS COST ME$$ DONT LET IT COST YOU!!!$$$
Having to do some premature clutch work bc these dampeners that look like plastic are falling apart. They are gumming everything up, even bearings etc. Not balanced now either. Clutch still had some life aside from this. I WILL NEVER BUY OR RECOMMEND THIS TO ANYONE BECAUSE IT FAILS AND IT SHOULDN'T!!!!!

Alway been a southbend customer. First time i had an issue. A mouse made a nest in the clutch and kept the pressure plate open. One of their employee's, Brain reached out to me on a post i made on Facebook about the issue i was having. I called left a message and got a call back within a few mins. He went above and beyond to help me out and make sure I could get a replacement clutch asap. Call before you buy if you're not sure on the size of clutch you need, I'm pretty sure they can also build a custom clutch to fit your needs aswell. Definitely showed me today why I've been a life long customer, first time I've ever had to call them out of several clutches and it was a smooth experience. And don't believe the negative crap you read, there is a reason they have been around as long as they have. They stand behind their products.9 out of 10 bad things you read are people that abuse their clutch beyond its capabilities then get mad when they don't get a free replacement.
