We had a blast at the Copperhead Creek gem mine! We all love rocks so we got mega bags and super bags and large bags and mined for gems in their sluice outside of the store. It was a super special day, my son asked his girlfriend to marry him, she said yes! We are all so excited and happy! You can find coupons around town to get a few dollars off of the bags. Great place to visit when you are in Nashville!

We visited on Sunday morning before the 4/8 solar eclipse. The folks in the shop are so friendly and helpful. My kiddos love collecting rocks and quickly found items they wanted. The prices were great, too! My oldest picked a solar eclipse mystery box, which was super fun. I won't spoil what was in the box but it was well worth the price! He was delighted. My youngest picked a nice stone for his collection as well.

Staffwoman was the absolute best! Very helpful and knowledgeable! She even helped me pick out some of my stones purchased from Temu that were real/fake. Overall great experience! Purchased several individual stones and a motherload mining bag, totally worth it! (Photos are of my mining bag haul) 20/10 absolutely recommend this place! It’s was a small store I decided to stop at on my way back from Tennessee and the prices where astronomically high I got a plate of fossilized orthoceras in Tennessee with about 10 on there for $25 and here the SAME SIZED ONE WAS $400 I also bought a mosasaurus tooth still in stone at the store in Tennessee for $15 here it was $10 for a fraction of the size the small crystal they had around the store where also way to over priced like $5 per stone and the geodes where also like $8 for a very small one I would not come back it’s way to expensive.

Great price on bags of dirt to gem mine. We always buy several motherload bags while there and bring back small bags to family as souvenirs. We visit this shop everytime and always walk away with so many large specimen gems. My daughter could sit for hours and mine. I also have several pieces of their jewelry that I absolutely adore.

@Copperhead Creek Gem Mine in regards to your response, I did say something to the lady that was running the store that day because we bought two of the Motherload bags. We always do one there and take the other one home for another day of fun. The lady that was working said they come already packaged. That was it. No apology, no offer to make things right. So we haven’t been back since. I do appreciate your offer. If we go back I will be sure to show them the offer you wrote on here. Thank you.
Update for 2022…The amount of gems/rocks and fossils you get have decreased drastically!!! Not even half of what it was when I originally wrote this review (we didn’t even fill up half a clear bag that they give you with the largest bag, including the big gem). Very disappointing, especially for the price.
We had a blast mining for gems, there were so many in the bag!!! We bought three more bags to take home because it was such fun!! Fun for all ages! They even customizes stone boxes to your personal needs such as luck, money, love, etc. Great place and they have beautiful gifts of all prices!

My favorite place to visit in Nashville, IN! We drive from Indianapolis a couple of times each year. We always come to Copperhead Creek to shop for jewelry, then buy a bag of sand to mine for gems. Stay at least a couple of hours! This is a family owned business and they are great! You can tell this is their passion.

The kids had a wonderful time. You buy bags of sand, there are different sizes/contents, and the sift them in a trough with running water. Then, bag up your treasures. You get an info card with pictures to help identify what you've found. Some of the specimens were small and not much of high quality but fun.

The mining was fun...but there wasn't much as far as rocks go. About .5 of sm plastic bag from 2 lg and 2 sm. Disappointing

My 9 year old son loves finding treasures in the motherload bag. Lots of fun doing this, and got fossils, gemstones, lots of nice items that he's really excited about. Great customer service and friendly staff.
