“The Salvation Army is a great place. I remember going out there as a kid. . They had basketball/football leagues and I was a cheerleader for them.. Lots of good memories?. I've learned, as an adult tho, some of the many resources they have to help ppl.....in all kinds of situations. They offer assistance in times of need, they have a food pantry, a church. They offer a listening ear. I spoke with Heather(who works there) unexpectedly for over an hour one morning and I had no idea how much I needed some positive reassurance. She was very compassionate and non judgmental and I was very grateful for her words of wisdom and her willingness just to listen. There are definitely good people still in this world. We are fortunate to have a Salvation Army in New Castle!”

“My family and I really appreciate First Christian Church of Mooreland. It is a big blessing our family and the community. We participated in the Fall Family Party on Halloween night! This event with games, food and of course, candy is always a highlight for our family on Halloween. We also participate regularly in the Martial Arts program they offer after school on Mondays and Wednesday from 4-5pm! It is led by Pastor Nathan Edwards and his wife Alyssa. Our kids really enjoy it and they are getting stronger and better! My wife and I also participate and it helps our whole family to be healthier together.I appreciate this church in Mooreland!”

“My honest thoughts: Sulphur Springs is a great church community to become involved with and truly understand who Jesus is and also a place to grow and mature as a Christian. The first time my wife and I came, we felt quite welcomed and included in the ministry and a place we now call family. Here are a few areas I would like to highlight.> Biblical focused teaching.> A strong staff and volunteer leadership.> A passion to shepherd and mature Christians in their faith beyond the bare minimum.> A welcoming church community.> A heart posture to serve those outside the church walls.> A strong and intentional missions focus, both local and international.> A church that appreciates humor in ministry.> Sulphur Springs is a church that is "passionately in love with Jesus Christ and wants to serve our neighbor." This is written on the website and I can share that this is something that the church does seek to live out.The staff, C.J. (Pastor), Bryan (Family Life Pastor), and Terry (Office Administrator) and also the church elders are servants of Christ in seeking to love Jesus and love others. They are people of peace that have a positive outlook on life. As such, I believe this spreads throughout the culture of Sulphur Springs Christian Church and is something that is not only grounded in God's Word, but also in His Spirit.I believe God has blessed Sulphur Springs Christian Church and I believe many in the church recognize how God is at work within the church. From this, the leadership has what I would say is a humble heart posture in seeking to be good stewards of what God has blessed them with as a church and in turn seek how to bless others with those blessings. Hope this is helpful! =)Best Regards,Derrick Shipley”
