We had the wedding of our dreams at the Mill Top! Sophia was our day of coordinator and from the minute we met her we felt at ease about the weeks leading up to the wedding. That feeling easily transferred over to our rehearsal and wedding day. Our days were relaxing, we stayed on our timeline and we were able to enjoy every minute! Sophia helped us create our perfect vision for decorations within our budget. The Mill Top team was so kind and answered any questions we had so quickly. They were not only great with us, but with our entire wedding party including parents. We chose to do a room flip and use the same room for our ceremony and reception, the thought of this process made us a little nervous. However, when we walked into the reception everything was perfect. They even reused some of our aisle decor to decorate the buffet tables. The team truly went above and beyond. We are so thankful we chose the Mill Top to host our wedding!

Amazing experience and the staff is even better. I get headaches frequently and the front door staff(Gloria) made me feel like i was at home.

Quite frankly, I don't know where to begin. Hilary Grinstead, was my coordinator, on the date of my event July 23, 2023, I would like to compliment her on her friendly personality in the overall process of the wedding planning. I do remember Hilary in training as I started the ending of my wedding planning process back in January, I was emailing, and working with Lucille, and then it feels as though I was abruptly tossed and passed around after with little or no communication about this which was concerning. During the day of the wedding, Hilary left us clamoring to understand what is next during our wedding rehearsal on Saturday July 22, 2023, and even left 30 min early, we failed to get in a nice run through of the rehearsal introduction for my wedding party, and I. The wedding party received minimal if any instruction for the reception on the day of the wedding, July 23, 2023; we were challenged to piece order together without her assistance.Wedding days are already stressful for any bride so imagine how I felt when various organizers were reaching out to me for instruction? My groom had to ask, where is the alcohol (beer) package for his groomsmen? This was met with sarcasm because he did not drink; however, his party did, so it should have been made available without having to ask. I even had to ask for my bottle of champagne on the day of my wedding, when it should’ve already been provided. During the reception, our guests were not communicated with in a clear and concise way. I was ask to get up, and make my own plate during my wedding day. There were lots of questions and confusion, when me and my husband were being reintroduced as a couple during the reception, which forced myself and members of my wedding party, and the DJ to take on the role of Coordinator. My DJ stated she had issues with being on the same page with the coordinator, and she was left to make decisions abruptly on her own.I, the bride, was shuffled around frantically like we were on a running parking meter. Never once did she check in with me to ensure my experience was pleasurable or well-paced. Before the reception ended at 11PM, she eagerly handed her responsibilities off to someone else on her team and left almost two hours earlier as she had done the night before. My husband and I were later asked if we would forfeit our deposit as an additional tip for the staff. We did not respond due to how shocked we both felt toward the suggestion. We cannot redo our wedding day, and although we will hold on to the good memories throughout the years, our treatment left a bad taste in our mouth. We will not refer this business to any of our friends OR colleagues in the near future. Our wedding party was less than 100 guests, the preparation and excellence everyone raved when we read the reviews were far from our actual experience.Extremely disappointed.Sincerely,Tabitha08/17/2023

We had the most positive experience at the Milltop! We got married a few weeks ago and had a perfect day. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. Our coordinator, Sophia, was soooo sweet. We were a little concerned at first because one of our coordinators got fired and the other switched jobs, but Sophia picked up everything and it was like we had her from the very start! The bridal suite was HUGE, too. Overall, we highly recommend this place if you’re looking for a cool, historic building to get married in!

The facility is nice, spacious and historic. The catered meal was comprised of truly rubbery chicken and decent pasta good salad arrangements and drinks. I managed to eat all of my rubber chicken and pasta, my wife gave up after a third of the chicken and loaded up on pasta and salad. The sweet tea and the two beers I had were great. No Name Caterer needs to work on chicken preparation a bit.

We had an absolutely beautiful wedding at the Mill Top. When we walked in the door the first time for our tour, we immediately fell in love with the character of the building. There are multiple dynamic spaces within the building to meet all your needs from ceremony, to cocktail hour, to reception - and all of your time beforehand, with incredible bridal suites and even "man caves" for the men in the party to have a fun time getting ready as well. What sold us on the space was the planning structure - the Mill Top provides a wedding planning/coordination team who walk you through each step of the planning process. For someone like me - who didn't start with much of a vision at all - it was incredibly helpful to have someone walking me through what I needed to decide when, and making suggestions throughout. The entire team was helpful throughout, but our end of process and day-of coordination team (Sophia & Hilary) were INCREDIBLE and made the entire experience worthwhile for sure. We had some personal challenges come up approaching the wedding day, and they navigated everything we threw at them with professionalism, kindness, and grace. I had complete confidence with them running the show for my big day - they made it amazing. One thing to note: though a tremendous pro is that you can get to everything you need through the venue (decor, event set up, all the things) the downside to that is that there is an itemized charge for each and every thing, and it can be challenging in the beginning to get a realistic grasp of what total costs will be. Round UP because the initial quote will probably be on the low end of your guest count, assuming you'll do basic/non-upgraded anything (and that's not really where you'll end up.) It was ultimately more expensive then we anticipated - and though it was worth it to us, definitely be mindful of it it'll ultimately fit into your budget if it's several thousands more than the figure you start with.At the end of the day, our event was gorgeous - everyone who attended commented on how beautiful the space was and how wonderfully everything came together, and that wouldn't have been possible without the Mill Top!

Came here for my sister's wedding last weekend. The place was absolutely beautiful. Huge and rustic and gorgeous. The bridal and grooms suites were awesome. We had all we needed and all the space for everything. I wanted to give a special shout out as well to Hillary and Sophia, our event coordinators. They were amazing and on top of everything. They as well as the rest of their team and security did an amazing job making sure everything went as smoothly as possible. Just wanted them to know how much we appreciated all of their effort.

I’m a local wedding photographer based in Evansville but got the pleasure of photographing a wedding at the Mill Top. There were dozens of spots for neat photos & multiple levels which made hosting the ceremony & reception so easy for my clients! The day-of coordinator was also super helpful & made my job easier! It was fairly dark inside the venue so make sure you choose a photographer that knows how to work with low-light, but the photos turned out amazing!

It's A Very Lonely Place, Great Staff,We Attended A Family Members Wedding There.Lovely Place. The Only Thing Bad I Could Say Was The Stairs, When It Came To Our Elderly Family Having To Run Up And Down. They Do Have A Elevator,Its Kinda Out Of Site, It Works,But It Is Slow..

The venue itself is amazing, huge bridal suites and man caves, rustic appearance and made for great pictures. The coordination team was overall good at their job, although our coordinator left the company in the middle of our planning and Milltop did not tell us, and we only found out when we walked in for our details meeting and had to start over with a new person. Sophia did a great job picking things up and following through but still not very clear communication on that front. Jacquies catering is the required food choice, and they had amazing options and did great the day of the wedding. The decor and alcohol (that you have to buy through them or they charge a $500 fine) was pretty overpriced. They originally were going to charge $250 to put a few strands of lights in the main event space, and a case of Natural Light for the man cave costed $70 ($15 in liquor store). They tell you “they aren’t a liquor store”, but I’m not sure why they are charging almost 500% markup for alcohol when they could go buy it at a store 5 mins away for less. Seems like a bad vendor they are using for those prices, and seems like a sham since you have to buy alcohol through them. It was also odd that we had to get an insurance rider for wedding day but also give them a $500 deposit. Likely they plan on using the deposit intentionally to ask for gratuity after the event. If something were to happen day or the wedding I would’ve gone through my insurance I was required to purchase, so that part didn’t make sense to me. Another issue we had was with the invoicing. I had emailed Rocky multiple times to get my email added to the invoices, since they were only going to my now wife. He never responded, and actually sent an invoice to us the day before Christmas, due upon receipt. When we checked email 2 days later there was a $100 late fee already on it. I personally did not care for Rocky’s sales pitch on the tour and is very clearly a hard sales person. Overall our wedding day was great, but definitely felt like the value of the coordination team and the customization options we would have were way overstated. Every single thing you hope to change or add will cost, and not once did I feel the cost was reasonable. Maybe that’s just wedding venues in general but be aware that Rocky will make it sound like he will do anything for you on the tour but forget to mention that they will charge you an arm and a leg to do so.

Swindlers list!!! If Swindlers had a list Rocky would be number one! Mill top sucks you in as a budget friendly venue and then they nickel and dime you to death!!! You will be much better off to pick a venue that lists their costs up front than to go with Mill Top. We can not tell you how much we REGRET going with this venue. They totally misrepresent their costs! We have talked to SO many people who agree this could be a decent venue if they were up front with their costs. They have a really good staff but unfortunately Rocky sells the sizzle he just doesn't deliver!!
