Ever since the previous owner retired at the end of 2022 and corporate bought back the office, corporate changed everything. What use to be a welcoming and small town business how became a heartless, cruel, and greedy corporate ran business. I had been a client of Mr. Bridgewater for the last 20 years. Now that he is retired, the people who were sent to replace him have cut so many community ties that this office had. From corporate replacing the receptionist (Trudy) to some rude and non-professional lady, to corporate raising the prices to prepare taxes. The heart and soul of the once “Small Town North Vernon H&R Block” has left. John Bridgewater will truly be missed.

I WAS a 20 year client of this office.Not the same office this year. Has went down hill. Rude front office staff and it had an extreme odor inside office. Went with a local agent and had the best service and not made to feel bad for having a few questions.

Dedicated returning customer of 8 years, changing my 5star to a 1star review!
I now go to a local small business for my taxes after they wanted to charge me over $400 UPFRONT to do my taxes on 2023
They have been BEGGING me to come back since and I absolutely REFUSE. Almost a decade of loyally returning and that's what they tried to charge me.
My local lady with over 30 years of experience charged me $100 for the exact same return!

Lauretta in north vernon, indiana is the one that done my taxes and she is just an amazing tax preparer. She listens, she pays attention and she is very good at her job. She double checks everything, explains all your questions without judging because you didn't know or understand what she meant. I look forward to going to get my taxes done every year and I always schedule with her if she's available that day, if she isn't, I always wait for a day that she is!
