90 days ago I opened two safety deposit boxes at the Moreau Branch, both locks have had to be drilled out and replaced! Something is not quite right with this branch! Still taking inventory & things are missing!

If you fall into a hard time in life, this bank will not give a care for you whatsoever. They will actually end up doing the least they can to help and sit back and collect as many overdraft charges from you as possible and then tell you there’s nothing they can do on their end. They have it as a policy NOT to give their customers a simple curtesy call if your account over drafts for 30 days. This way they ensure they can just rack up all the overdraft fees they can in this time period. I fell into a hard time and thought I shut off any activity from being able to go through such as using my debit card and stopping auto bill pays from going through as I knew it would be a little while before I had money coming back to this account. Well there were still a load of payments coming through that I had set with my routing and account number, but when you call them and ask how do I shut those payments off momentarily, they say they have no way of stopping them. So you’re just a sitting duck going through life’s ups and downs, and the ones supposed to be protecting your money just sit there and stare at you, collecting all the fees they can, and tell you “sorry there’s nothing we can do.” They also lie about their policies in saying that they don’t set the daily limits a person can spend and that that visa actually set it for them. The daily limit is low and they give you the runaround anytime you need to raise it. They say visa sets the limit standards which makes absolutely 0 sense since Visa makes more money the more you use their cards. Unfortunately for the workers there I haven’t had an issue with customer service so I’ll give them that and I know they don’t set the policies. It just sucks for the nice people to be working at a predatory bank that cares about only making money and not protecting your money.

Warning. Do not finance a vehicle through Notre Dame Federal Credit Union. They will attack your credit report as a co-signer without warning you or calling to say a payment hasn’t been made. My son’s car was stolen in April. He has insurance through USAA and they have been terrible too. Nobody is willing to work with my son to get this resolved. Notre Dame Federal Credit Union cashed the settlement check from USAA, told him the GAP insurance will take another two months to pay out, did not tell him payments were still due, did not call me as a co-signer to tell me this, and still reported on my credit report as a 30 day late payment. The only notification I’ve been getting is an alert from the credit bureaus. Notre Dame Federal Credit Union advertises that they are Michiana’s preferred banking institution yet fail to communicate with their customers. I have made two payments since April after the fact because I had to call them to find out what’s going on.

Opened account 3 weeks ago. Still no debit card. Every bank transfer, venmo transfer, and PayPal is declined. Checking removed itself from PayPal 3x. Not even gonna try cashapp or apple pay. Not recognized by skrill. Can't even make transfers to other banks. Save your time and avoid.UPDATE: never received communication as mentioned in the reply, and customer service still refusing to send me a simple debit card. Still they can't help with venmo etc. What on earth? Is this normal?

I was working with Emily McElroy with a loan and shortly after the loan had gone through she just stopped responding and helping us. It feels like there was a big push to get loan numbers up and then just forget about the customer. So disappointed. Others have been so kind and helpful. If something was wrsong she could have at least replied to my numerous emails or messages left on her voicemail. This is not how banking business should be done. Customers matter!

Don’t ever and I mean ever use their coop atm to deposit funds even though their atm literally scans the bills and they retrieve the atm the next day they put a 5 day hold on any cash deposits

I have banked with NDFCU since 2009, over the years I have formed a family relationship with various branches/employees. The amount of grace, understanding, patience, helpfulness, expertise and empathy that I’ve been shown as a member is something that cannot be compared to any other. At NDFCU I feel like I am valued like family.Recently, I purchased a new home & car and have been working with Tia to consolidate some of my debt. She is an example of the continued care that this bank has to offer. No one person or entity is perfect, and since covid perhaps everyone could agree the customer service across the board is lacking. Tia restored my faith that the “real human-helpful experience “ still exists. THANK YOU!!!!!

I was all set to refinance my car with them--thankfully, I scoured the docs and did a side-by-side comparison with the dealer loan. Omar Medrano quoted me 4.24% only for the docs to show 5.39%. Quite a gap, and yes, I understand the difference between interest rate and APR, , but I've always been quoted APR, verbally. And, yes, I know one is not obligated to quote APR, but who doesn't deal in APR when conveying interest rates?In the end, NDCU's loan was going to cost me about 100 dollars more. Not a huge deal, but why would I be persuaded to go through the hassle of refinancing to be charged more? And, he initially put me in a 72 month car loan. Who is foolish enough to drag out paying a car off for six years? He also would not show me the numbers until I sent my license over, and even then, I didn't get any statement, just the docusign. That is what made me suspicious, to be honest, and that's why I read through everything. When I began to ask him about the numbers, because they weren't making sense, he really couldn't answer.Needless to say, I felt the lack of disclosure was very scammy. When I ran it by friends in banking, they confirmed this (I didn't want to jump to conclusions). Oddly, when I emailed to ask for clarifications, thinking they might want to retain my business, I was ghosted, which confirmed it was bait and switch. They were hoping I wouldn't note that APR.Triple A is offering me 3.09, so I'll be going with them. When I asked if they were quoting me APR or interest, they were dumbfounded and said that they always refer to APR as that what is conveyed in all transactions.As they can reiterate when they reply, I have excellent credit, so I wasn't desperate for their loan. Not sure why they couldn't give what was offered. I got their names from a local FB group and I'll be downvoting them if they are recommended again, based on this experience.

6+ years of service and 75% of the time my partner went to any branch except the Edison Branch, he had some teller who couldn’t do their job properly to deposit or cash his checks. They have repeatedly hung up on us, ignored our emails, and failed to get him approved for any type of loan or credit line OVER THE COURSE OF SIX YEARS as both a business and personal member. Today, they closed his account after a teller hung up on him at the drive through and he went off on her. They were not going to let me, the other account user, know. I got the lies, threats and hang ups all on video recordings and have filed a complaint with the FTC because they’re refusing to pay my husband the thousands of dollars still in his account. DO NOT BANK HERE! THEY WILL STEAL YOUR MONEY!!

Worst drive thru wait time in the city. It's been 13 months, figure it out. Other businesses have adjusted to Co-Vid. Not everyone in a mask wants to rob the bank. Find a way to get more customers thru or you will not have them for long. If you get a problem car at the drive-thru, pull it aside like McDonalds does. I drove off after one car tied up the line for 15 minutes. Ridiculous.

Christopher Meuschke @ NDFCU has been my insurance broker for a few years now and he is the BEST. He provides great costumer service, seems knowledgeable of the process, and takes the time to answer questions. I had so many issues with other insurance companies constantly increasing my rate for no reason until I decided to give him a call. Seriously, if you are Christopher’s boss and you’re reading this.. give him a raise
