Monthly fees even if you "leave a dollar" in the account. The bored housewives that work here have no issue snooping into your account and openly admitting they do while asking you patronizing questions. Poor choice in banking and staff. I opened an account here to see if it would be a good bank. I had part of my paycheck go to this and part of it go to another. The woman are constantly asking personal questions about the account and my transactions. Took two months just to get a card. Multiple fraudulent transactions before account was even used and during use. It's a fight to dispute charges.

Worst bank ever!!!!! Thru the years it has been First Merchants customer service has went down hill !! from Miss depositing funds, kicking out checks all the time for stupid stuff , questioning my paycheck deposits after 6 months of depositing checks from my employer. and now I can't even sit in the parking lot for 5 minutes and fill out my deposit slip and make a deposit. as soon as my last deposit in check clears I will be pulling my money out of this Bank do not ever use it.

We literally had our account open a week and we were waiting on our cards and my wife's paycheck to hit. We went to the bank to get money out and find fraudulent activity on our account. ONE WEEK it had been open. Luckily the charges didn't go thru but today we went to the bank to clear out the account and open a new one. We were told because of it happening so quickly that we weren't going to be allowed to open another account. The fraudulent charges weren't even in our state nor did we even have accounts were the charges were attempted. Also the rude lady at the bank refused to refund us the $72 in fees assessed to our account. So in summary- had the account a week, thru no fault of our own had fraudulent charges, lost $72 bucks and no longer have a bank account. Do not go to this bank if you value your security and your hard earned money.
