I was talked into buying a membership, when I was openly very hesitant to sign up, the manager said it would be easy to cancel if I decided to, so I signed up. I cannot cancel until my year is up (which I’m being told can only be done by sending in a letter?) and they continue to charge my account on random days that were not in my contract, and do not notify you. I have tried to contact multiple ways and been ignored. This is a terrible business who does not care about its customers. Do not get a membership here!!! Would give it 0 stars if I could

Cancelling a membership is virtually impossible. I tried to contact the club manager for months with little to no response. Was told I could mail in a letter, did not have to be certified, to cancel my membership. I was still being charged 2 months after I mailed the cancellation notice. Yesterday, I received an email from the club manager stating they just received my letter due to it not being certified and they don't check their business mailbox. I found that email extremely unprofessional. Who doesn't check their business mailbox at least once a week? I was being charged an extra 2 months because you didn't check your mailbox. I would like to be refunded for those 2 months. I feel like the club extorted me for an extra $50. I would not recommend this gym to anyone.

I started a contract in 2021 for 2 years. my husband did the same but one a 1 year co tract. During my contract I was not notified that ownership had changed. After my husbands contract ended, they stopped charging him. After my contract ended, they kept charging me. With no notification, I now have to come in for one signature. This location would not let me do this by email or by phone. Also, you can't come in on the weekend to cancel them charging your account after the contract you signed for a specific period has ended. The hours they provide are during business hours which is a major inconvenience to anyone with a job. Overall, 0/10

They stole my bank information and entered it under another persons subscription without my authorization because they threw away the other persons new paperwork not his old, as they told me and so they illegally used mine since we signed up at the same time. They lied and said they would take 6 weeks off of my end payments and make them free. And then did not do that. And refuse to refund me money. I would avoid this place if you don’t want your money stolen. They are now trying to turn it around to be our faults when we don’t have access to enter our bank information on there computers when we filled it out on paper form.

Joined a month ago because it’s close to me. Very disappointed in the choice i made. The place is filthy and equipment needs maintenance.Years of dust and dirt on the equipment, dirty floors, etc.The owner needs to step it up.

This business is a scam. I’ve had a horrible, MULTIPLE-YEAR experience in trying to cancel my membership. Anytime Fitness has charged a fee of $29.95 on October 1, 2022, well after my cancellation. My last payment to this company was on August 12, 2022, which was the last payment to fulfill and complete my contract. Why, nearly two months later, am I being charged?!I originally signed on for a 2-year contract in summer of 2018. When I tried to cancel in 2020, they told me I couldn't cancel until 2022, despite having made it very clear (in 2020) that I would not like to renew my membership once the contract ended. Several employees from the Plainfield, Indiana location and the Greencastle, Indiana location (I moved houses) assured me that my contract would not be renewed. Since I was forced, against my will and without any knowledge whatsoever, to continue my membership, DESPITE MAKING IT CLEAR THAT I COULD NO LONGER AFFORD THE MEMBERSHIP, this caused $655 to accumulate and be sent to collections. I made every good faith effort to cancel my membership and was lied to by staff from both locations. I am so furious with how this business conducts itself.

I used to work in releasing political prisoners from places like Egypt (under Hosni Mubarak) and the Islamic State. Why do I mention this? Because those people were way easier to work with than to cancel a membership with Anytime Fitness. They are a s*** organization that will rip you off at any opportunity. My contract expired and they continued to charge me for the next 9 months. Once I was finally able to cancel they went ahead and charged me for an additional month. Also, despite what the owner will tell you, the key fob deposit is non-refundable. Sort of the negates the purpose of a "deposit," right?

Called in regarding wanting to set up a member ship and was told I would need to come in during staffed hours. Today staffed hours were until 7PM. I spoke with a person in the phone who said I could come in tonight and tour the place or come in the following day. I asked to come in tonight and they said okay. Now this phone conversation happened at 5:55. I showed up at 6:20-6:25 and the door is locked only members are allowed to enter. I called literally 12 times back to back while I sat in the parking lot for 20 minutes trying to get ahold of someone. Needless to say I didn’t and now I’m taking the 10 minute drive back. At this point I’m heading to another gym to seek membership even if it means I need to drive further to go. Very disappointed I wasted my time coming

website has staffed hours, but when you show up they aren't there, you have to make an appointment to sign up, why not change your hours online like any other business? so I text the number provided, no response, I had to contact a different town's Anytime Fitness, have that owner personally email this location and get them to contact me, and they finally did! Stephan set up an appointment with me to get paid up and start a membership, only to cancel on me a couple hours before. If you are considering a gym in the plainfield area, you might try one that takes their business a bit more seriously.

There a a lot of good gyms in the area. This is definitely NOT one of them.I live less than four blocks away and I cancelled my membership. Here are my four reasons why.1. Gym is REALLY small, the equipment is stacked really close together.2. I've had things stolen in there. Carry everything on you at all times.3. The music gets so loud, you can't even hear the person next to you.4. The carpeting and gym mats are absolutely filthy.
