I started with a second chance checking account because years back I was not in good financial standing. Grateful for the second chance I opened account. I get paid once a month so my account can go into the negative (and does frequently) but I always pay the balance. They never cover the overdrafts but charge me $32. In December of 2021 I signed up for overdraft protection. My thinking was if I'm going to pay $32 anyways I might as well have the the things paid as well. Fast forward to the end of December after christmas ripped me a new one and overdraft protection is not on. Why, well I was informed that I should have received an email or something in the mail stating whether I was approved or not. This bit of info was never given to me while signing up for it and I never received anything. So I'm still getting charged $32 and while the banks getting $150 - $250 in fees from me I get nothing except my income dwindling away. To top it off I can rarely reach anyone on the phone. I have to leave a message and it can be days before I get a return call. They give you the mobile deposit option and it takes hours sometimes for them to reject for whatever reason they have for that day. But get this my checks have never changed addresses or anything so rejection is completely unacceptable. I'm honestly sick of it. A second chance shouldn't include being screwed over and over and things made harder. I work hard for my money and I have no issue paying fees but the lack of information and customer service. This bank sets up new second chance accounts to drain them. I would not recommend ever trying them again as this is beginning to feel like a scam for people who screwed up in the past and are trying to make a future.

Open longer hours than most banks, making it easier to go before or after work. They are currently open six days a week. It was all seven days prior to covid.Although, I do not live in Princeton I find it more covenient to use Woodforest Bank since they are located in Walmart, and go to Walmart every few weeks to do my grocery shopping. Also, it seems like most towns with a population of 4000+ people usually have a Walmart, so it's sometimes easier to find a Woodforest ATM, then it is to find one affiliated with a local bank when you travel.
