The ventilation in the building is terrible, and the staff wasn't very friendly either. I would've given them a one-star, but I believe in their mission. Save homeless and abused animals.

I adopted my first dog after my husband passed away. She had been rescued by Help Center and had been neglected and abused. She was the greatest dog I have ever owned. Several weeks ago, she passed away. I went to Help the Animals again, just for grieving purposes, and came home with the sweetest one year old Jack/Parsons Russell you've ever seen! I'm so impressed with how well the animals are treated, as well as how I am treated, as a prospective pet parent! Great job folk's!

This shelter really cares about their animals. I adopted my sweet cat Luna a couple weeks ago and I couldn't be happier with the experience and staff!

Got my cat Aiko here 2 years ago, we were a perfect match. She's the sweetest cat. The staff was very helpful and caring. One of the most professional shelters I've ever been to. The place and cages were clean. The animals seemed happy and cared for. No over crowding in cages.

went to go put a fostering application in and felt very judged, it’s filled with very rude workers.
place was an absolute mess, dogs COVERED in there own poop ,pee and even throw up, very skinny animals, and smells like mildew (you can smell it all the way from outside?)

Shelter is staffed with rude people who seemingly enjoy talking down to those that call or go in looking for help.
Staff doesn't seem to be aware of the actual ordinances pertaining to animals here and tell people if they pick an animal up to try to have it scanned for a chip that it's theirs now, and their responsibility.
And let's not forget the time they euthanized dogs then lied to the community about it.
Plenty of other shelters and rescues in this town that will treat the members of the community respectfully.

Found my new fur baby here. I love that they’re a no kill shelter. Animal shelters actually make me kind of sad because I want to adopt all the animals but I’m glad this shelter is here because you can tell they really care about the animals. Will be returning to help out however I can.

We found our most precious girl at the Help shelter. They are so great with adoption process and with taking care of the animals. Please before you buy a pet go check out the wonderful pets that need your love.

They are awesome we love our new furry pet, Jersey.... He's so sweet, playful, adorable, & smart. They also sent us home with everything we needed for him, and all the information and resources we could use. Thank you to the staff at Help the Animals you all are awesome for what you do for all the animals that are abused or abandoned.

Richmonds Help the Animals Rescue shelter is something else. I get my cat fixed so he can go inside and out, we leave for trick or treat 10/31 &&him being one cat of probably a dozen or more in the same area gets "picked up" and then they give me hassle to get him back when I have proof of ownership. Then after holding him hostage in their office making me go grab my cat carrier didn't even ask for my ID they charged me $40.00 to "reclaim" him.Someone in their staff was pinning to take him home. And I could tell by the exchange and attitudes while I was there that was the caseSo in my BOOKThey aren't about rescue they're on another level of SOMETHING ELSE ?
