Trevor at the Richmond, Indiana location went above and beyond in helping me take care of my storage unit. I've been a customer for a very long time, never late and then life happened. He showed me grace and compassion. Customer service felt like I was talking to a friend. He truly cares and made an effort in helping me. Thank you Trevor for your kindness.

Storage unit prices went up from 82$ to 118$ WITH NO NOTICE!!!! EXTRA SPACE STORAGE IS THE WORST!!!!
I have been renting storage for 4 months and the units have increased 16$/month with NO NOTIFICATION! ....absolutely awful. Someone also ran over the passcode box right after I started renting. I was never refunded for my lock. Which you are forced to buy as they are left in your unit. I hauled the lock all the way back to the office and it was never refunded. Oh yeah, and less than 2 months after I started renting, the company got sold. It went from Storage Express to Extra Space Storage... after being ASSURED by the manager/customer service that this company was not changing or going anywhere.
RENTER'S BEWARE!!!! 16$/month increase after 4 months.... wow.... corporate greed at it's finest. And I rent a SMALL unit. I don't know what increase the larger units have received.
I wouldn't recommend. Go with someone local, not this corporate crap.

Constantly raising prices. Started at $68 and now at $118 in less than 2 years. Unit itself is fine but pricing is out of hand.

I’m filling out this review at the request of a text message I received from Extra Storage Space. My quick review: not happy but it is what it is. My starting price was an acceptable $122 per month. Fast forward to today and it has increased 82% to $222 a month. I did not receive anything more for the price increase either - the unit did not increase in size, the facility did not become more secure, etc.
The good attributes are my belongings are safe, dry, and remain in the same condition as when I left them in the storage unit.
I don’t know that I would recommend this facility or company, but in my case with limited options for storage - it works.

Jessica is a very sweet lady and I really love the unit I'm in. Secure gate and only 1 way in and 1 way out. I do believe they need to put a dumpster at the facility but everything else is awesome so far. They are also willing to work with you to accommodate your needs.
