“Handy Spot Liquor is a great find for bourbon hunters and definitely a store worth checking out. The selection here is surprisingly strong, with a mix of well-known brands, local Indiana distilleries, and even some allocated bottles. I was particularly impressed with their selection of Hard Truth, Hotel Tango, and Frey Ranch, which you don’t always find at every store.

The layout is well-organized, and unlike some other places, their bourbon aisle is fully stocked on both sides, showing that they put effort into maintaining a good selection. This feels like a store where the buyer actually cares about bourbon, rather than just throwing bottles on a shelf.

One of the standout aspects of Handy Spot Liquor is the friendly and knowledgeable staff. I had a great conversation with an employee who mentioned that the owners hand-pick their allocated bottles and that they try to bring in high-quality selections rather than just chasing hype brands. This tells me that it’s a good place to return to for future hunts.

Pricing on allocated bottles can be on the higher side, but nothing outrageous compared to other stores in the area. They had a Van Winkle 12-Year for $900, which, while expensive, isn’t unheard of. They also had Hotel Tango Reserve Bourbon for $60 and Michter’s Straight Rye for $51.99, which were reasonable prices.

Overall, Handy Spot Liquor has a solid bourbon selection, a well-stocked and well-organized store, and a staff that clearly knows what they’re doing. It’s definitely a bourbon-friendly store that I’d visit again, and it’s worth stopping in if you’re in the area to see what they have.”

“The employees are very nice , the store is organized nicely. If you can't find anything they will happily assist you. Only little glitch is one way in and one way out of parking lot. So if you are heading west then you're fine but if you need to go east you have to fight through traffic and find a way to make a u turn. I was told the owners wanted to build a another exit behind the store to combat the above problem but was told by the city if they wanted to make that exit possible they would have to tear down store and rebuild it to make that possible. Which is redicolous. Shame on the city. this is my favorite store and I will keep coming and fighting my way back into traffic just to make my U-turn and head home. ?”
