Blue Bear Golf Club is a full-service 18-hole championship golf course serving the Shelby County and Indianapolis areas. Recently under new management, the course features a new clubhouse with a culinary menu and an expansive drink selection. The course offers scenic and challenging holes, with some tight fairways and trees, especially on the back nine. Players enjoy the well-maintained fairways and great greens, which are good for October golf. The layout can be tricky for first-timers, with overlapping tee boxes and some points where players need to navigate steep hills and find the correct path to the next hole. Despite some confusion about the layout, many visitors find the course exciting and worth playing again, especially for the challenging holes like #7 and #17. The staff, including the pro shop attendant and clubhouse personnel, are friendly and helpful, making the experience pleasant. Although some feel the course is a little pricey and could benefit from further upkeep, overall, it offers scenic views, challenging gameplay, and a friendly atmosphere. Visitors appreciate the scenic holes and the well-maintained greens, making it a popular choice for golf enthusiasts in the area.

With the extremely challenging weather this year, Blue Bear is holding its own. Been to a few courses in the area this summer and most courses have some weaker areas but it is expected with the weather.
